Oxford Cheetahs 2022
Sidney the robin replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
City you are right Reading got half decent gates in the 80s I went regular and Oxford with Hans/ Wigg, Cox , Dugard ( ect ) were reasonably supported. To comeback in a crap version of our British league would be madness now though they should tread carefully. -
Rule change for tape exclusion
Sidney the robin replied to Endeavour's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Not placed at you Bob not one bit, but god with the trouble the sport has in this Country why would anyone be that bothered about a trivial ruling.? Stupid rules and over complicating speedway has totally ruined our model in the Uk it is totally flawed. -

At the end of the day Blue all riders have to make the step up sometime in a dog/eat /dog world.Really pleased for Danyon that he has made real progress this year his average for next year could be a hindrance for him hope not. -
Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions Play off semi Final1st Leg 13th October

No you are right Lisa but the rule is not right , young Thompson at Leicester is a prime example. He is a talented young lad who should also of been protected and the likes of Cook, Kennedy,Basso should not get the chance to find there feet at reserve.I believe the likes of Thompson, Hume ( ect) should only move up into the top five in there second season. -

What a joke how is Danyon Hume at number 2 so unfair .? he has done well . The so called world beater Basso has not done anough to stay in the top five so annoying has it easy not fair for me. -
Life is unfair but the LIES that we were told are unforgivable really the supporters deserved better. Not surprised though the last year in 2019 when they changed the track shape was good there were a few teething problems but the track ended up serving up some great racing.

Gutted Orion really gutted today hurt not surprised though . Me and you have not always got on but you were right you were always pessimistic you did get shot down over the months but you were totally right. I was naive thought everything would pan out but after today no hope in my view DECIDED done and dusted a rubbish day.

Orion, for me i am not not to worried about the new stadium yet to not run again( no Covid excuses says it all). Not surprised they could still run in the old stadium and be viable 1, 200 plus most meetings think that is it end of angry upset gutted.

Really god most Robins fans have trusted people and in LIFE in general.I believe the Robins are finished, i was deluded thinking that things would work out in my heart wanted things to pan out well .I can’t see it now houses to be built on the Abbey soon it will be demolished when it suits them.

So shocked with this after Colin , Alan was a terrific rider hard as nails but FAIR RIP Alan.
-
I can’t remember seeing Colin ride in 1969 for Hackney but that was the only time i see him race Steve. The same as Ove Fundin only see him ride once in 1970 and unfortunately never got to see Bjorn Knutsson or the brilliant Peter Craven ride a real regret of mine.Thinking of Colin did he once consider coming back after those horrific injuries but was told it was to risky.? he must of worked hard to get back to that level of fitness.
-
Got used to seeing Colin going about his business quietly at Swindon i got him to sign a few Hackney photos a few times. He was a guy who i was quite wary of but he was ever so pleasant to speak to loved speedway and what a servant he was terrific.Along with Kilb, Broady, Wellie, Crash, ( ect) he was very approachable had time for people a real people’s person..The one thing that often gets forgotten is just how good a speedway rider he was and he had his best years still to come until injury curtailed that.RIP Colin.

SPOT ON won’t happen.

Really Doris bloody worrying that a cheap building ( ie a cheap McDonald’s? ) should not be ready by April. If not the old crappy shabby should stay there NO demolition NOT convinced at all not one bit.
-
Fingers crossed for all the Robin's faithful, it will be great to get the racing back. But as Orion said until the tapes go up for the first time i would not take anything for granted how can you take anything on trust.
-
Svein had ridden at Swindon on the 2nd of September RIP Svein.
-
Old Bob you need to have a real think sometimes in what you say ? ? Lee Kilby is not to blame in what happened at Eastbourne as for the 500 k houses 500 k you are joking ??? Those people who bought those premises should have no say whatsoever they knew the speedway was there it has been there from 1949 simples. If they are not happy pick somewhere else they should have no say at all.

Young Brits are thing’s looking more hopeful for the future.?
Sidney the robin posted a topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I have been keeping track on how the young Brits have been doing in all leagues and thing’s don’t look to bad.I wondered what other members thought generally..? The riders i have been following have all acquitted themselves well ( ie) Brennan, Flint, Palin, Hume, Bowtell, J.Thompson, D.Thompson,Bickley, Gilkes, Kemp, Rowe, Jenkins,.At the moment my top five would be Brennan, Palin, Flint, Rowe, Hume, . GREAT that all of these young riders are holding there own in a tough Championship and six of those are also riding in the Premiership as well. Fingers crossed all of these lads can improve ( if they still have clubs to ride for?) any thought’s.? -

I believe he will be a world team cup rider in time Ray, a bad injury plus Covid interrupted his progress.Next year Glasgow would be a great career move for him fingers crossed anyway. -

Brennan at reserve.?? -
When the series was first set up i was totally against it but have gradually got to except it for what it is and except change.I personally loved the old format the one off final ( 5 rides no semi finals) just a shame there is not a place for both formats. Is the series becoming stale ?does it need tinkering with for me personally to see Bartosz ride is a reason alone to watch great to see Artem pushing on in his career to.Any thoughts who are fans of the series? who are against it be interesting to hear peoples opinion.

For or against the GP series.?
Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
I think you are right ? Davis reached 15 British Finals 1976-1991( missing out in 1990). Chris Morton reached 14 and Peter Collins 13.
