MF has explained that Shanes is his preferred option - but it depends on the average of the final rider!!  James will still get 2 league action cos if he's not at Poole he'll be at BV .

I hope he ends up at Belle Vue the best racetrack we have in the  Country,  and Belle Vue are the biggest and most famous club in speedway.

He should add to his average if he's happy.

Hope Buster has it grippy when the Poole are in town, and have the Lynn boys practicing before the meeting :P

Personally I would of had Shanes and Hans as the other 2,if they fitted.

I personally hope Poole have not shafted James Shanes as he needs to do two league's i can't understand why he wasn't announced along with Woryna.Kurtz,Woryna,Shanes, would of been my first  three signing's and build the team around them nice that Poole are showing real confidence in the lad  just hope it works out for James.

  3. I personally would of kept Hans over Sundstrom even though i have always rated the swede but to average 8 i think will be a  tough  task. The team looks good but there are a few question marks about this team Holder away from home  he has regressed quite alot can he get back i hope so but  maybe he is just to far down that slippery slope.

    People missing the point entirely.

Joe Jacobs needed to do 2 leagues not one so Belle Vue didnt take him on its as simple as that!!

As for Shovlar talking about loyalty do us a favour and keep your mouth closed, Howarth, Newman, Ellis to name but 3 and now have an asset inPerks they dont wnat and would rather get in a Pole.........but thats ok beacuse its Poole hypocrite

Add Starke to that list as well.

I am agreeing to the post in general about British riders not being able to get team places. Not just reserves.

Jacobs wouldn't get a team place period because he isn't good enough. Simple as that really.

Morris & Greaves are much better. Ayres & Morley are better.

Davey only has a place at Swindon because they ran out of points to play with otherwise he would have been left without a job.

Jacobs isn't good enough and Promoters know it. Otherwise he would be offered team places when the team building starts not half way through the season when riders get injured.

Morris ,Greaves , Ayres much better are you on something ???? that  statement shows us all that you cannot watch much Speedway.

Shovlar is right. Jacobs isn't good enough to ride in the Premiership.

Not about his average clubs haven't signed him because he can only score points around the NSS in the Premiership.

Jacobs had to rely on people getting injured in the 2nd tier in the past to get a team spot.

So are the likes of Morley, Morris,Greaves,Davey, Ayres , any better than Joe? i think not Speedway is a numbers game we all know that and Jacobs has been punished for that.Jacobs has proved he is good anough for Premiership/Championship racing just a shame that. he should be cast aside like that.

Doesn't matter one bit how they feel. If your team succeeds, you can't keep them next season. The only way to win is to build a team with riders who are likely to exceed their average. There is no room for kisses and cuddles. If you want loyalty then you'll have to change the rules (or accept losing on a regular basis).

So you would rather riders change clubs willy nilly every year is that right?  believe it  or not not everything is about winning.Poole need to firstly get there track in order there has been poor racing there generally for a few years now and at times the  track has been a disgrace.Swindon for me for the season  ahead have nearly stuck to the same riders as last year which i find refreshing if we finish bottom it would not bother  me being entertained is more important to me than winning. The days of riders being attached to clubs now are long gone and that is a crying shame Poole for example had Lewis,Middlo,Smith, ect) in yesteryear now riders are moving clubs for fun.

No shame on me. Jacobs wasn't good enough to cut it in the top flight. Same as Smith last season. NL is their level. Tough on him if he hasn't found a berth in the NL but riders should be active in chasing spots.

How do you know Smith won't be good anough??? honestly you talk some crap at times a young lad who will come again last year Jack would of learned alot.As for Jacobs he has proved he can cut it in the EL and now the league is even weaker so i don't get your point. His home performances were terrific ok he  struggled at times away but with a doubling up spot he would of improved the Aces fans seemed to like Joe and they see more of him than anyone. You have real double standards you knock those two young lads yet supported Newman to the hilt when really Kyle has had more chances than most Brits.

It is quite strange even worrying that someone who has been heavily involved in the sport for decades and decades can come out with stuff like that!!! Is it a wonder the sport is in such a bad state in the UK?

Anyone can have one good meeting in isolation Sidney. His averages having been around for for over a decade tell their own story.

Would be very disappointed if he is named in Lynn's 1-7.

I look at team speedway a different way to what you do, riders don't have to improve to get a place. At Swindon for example Mike Keen and Clive Hitch were no world beaters but they were loved i.e.) because they were entertaining and give 100 per cent Auty is similar. At Lynn in yesteryear you had the likes of Featherby,Crane,Belham who were real favourites later on Tiddler Turner (who was very good and entertaining who the Lynn fans loved. For me it is a myth that you have to have improvers to win things having a balanced 1/7 all pushing in the right direction is what i look for in a team and hopefully entertaining us along the way.

Never said that side would be 'good enough', just refuting your claim that it would be 'mighty weak' as it wouldn't be with Iversen as a top drawer number one and a talent like Lebedevs having seven rides from reserve. Average and mid table perhaps, but not mighty weak.

As for Auty, he may well give 100% but he is never going to improve and is as unreliable and inconsistent as a speedway rider could be. Apart from overriding and coming a cropper, which you can rely on him to do regularly.

Maybe take a look at the BLRC and see if he is that bad, all i would say is he would do a job as well as at least two of those riders mentioned as for Kerr ask the Scunny fans if he is inconsistent.!,!,

No team with Iversen at one and Lebedevs at reserve would be 'mighty weak' Sidney. Maybe Auty at seven would make all the difference for you :D:blink:

No need for sarcasm  Bagpuss  and if you believe that side is good anough fair play you are entitled to your opinion. And on Auty you take the piss but riders like him and Jorgensen are the life and soul of British speedway they ride hard and put 100 per cent in every race i saw that at the Abbey last season when Lynn put in a mighty performance.

If lebedevs on his old kings Lynn average. And he should be then

    Cook

    Worrall

    Tungate

    Lebedevs

    Fricke

    Bewley

    Etheridge

A really good side that what about Cook Worrall Tungate Lebedevs Fricke Bewley Auty I recon that side would remain unbeaten at home.

I remember there was talk of him making a comeback during the early seventies...had a feeling that he had a practice spin in the car park?

    RIP

I think he had practiced in 1973  and he was going to try a comeback in a one off four team tournament to see how he went. That meeting fell foul to the weather so nothing ever materialised.

I can understand your Dads comments and in most cases he was correct to say Wimbledon was a Gater's paradise.    But Wimbledon was a special place.  It was the first time I watched Speedway from inside .  It was always prepared for the occasion where the atmosphere was intense and the excitement was never far away.  Must admit i never rated it as one of my favourite tracks but always enjoyed my many visits....

Never a truer word spoken. At the end of the day a rider can always find somewhere to compete against others with the same mindset, even if it's just some waste ground. What they need to realise is that if they want to be paid for doing what they enjoy they need to treat paying customers with respect (and not just by posting on social media) and not as an inconvenience, which is how some come across.

The first time i went to Plough Lane i thought wow!!! what a place  i was in awe of the stadium you could watch the racing in comfort. The track was always prepared well so the racing was always decent was never a fan of little tracks but i did like Wimbledon.I never tired of going to Wimbledon or Hackney both were a great night out and i can honestly say i didnt see many duff meeting's at either venue.

I think so, which is why the compromise has been offered for us to continue running some of our meetings on Thursdays.

Believe me the Greyhounds are a Sis track  decent money coming into the abbey  it is a BAGS track they take priority we will see what happen's  ☺️

Poole and King's Lynn have successfully rode on Wednesdays in 2017, even though they are allocated to the Danish League. It seems that one other Premiership club will ride on Wednesday and a compromise has been made to allow Swindon to continue on a Thursday.

As I said, do you think three Championship clubs should have been forced to move from their Thursday race night in order to accommodate the Premiership?

Matt don't the Greyhound's  run on most Wednesday's at the Abbey? with a 6.28 start.???

To be honest Bagpuss i don't agree with all of what he says either, our sport is so frustrating at times .This November we had a big chance to make changes for the better of our sport ALL clubs getting together thrashing thing's out but decisions are taken but never explained to us the speedway public. We should know what all those clubs voted for transparency there reasons is it a big SECRET???  in my lifetime i always thought the sport would plod on but  the sport has to be very careful now is there a vision for the future?  at the moment i don't see it.
