1 hour ago, Steve Shovlar said:Great signing getting Batch back. If Swindon make the playoffs and the track is a little wet the other team will be laughing. Some Swindon fans seem to have forgotten the 'effort' he put in the last time he rode for the club in its most important meeting of the season.
This post is the sort that all the good and genuine Poole supporters hate i dont class you as a proper supporter you are not a true reflection of the Poole fans i have met.

Points wise, I don't think there is a lot to choose between him and, say, KK, but having grumpy old Batch in the side just feels kind of right to me.
Personally, I'd much rather have a rider who feels "Swindon" coming in than random average increasers coming in every year. I just enjoy watching Troy Bachelor - even if he's being bad Troy instead of good Troy.
I actually think Batch can up his average by a fair bit, Rossiter also has a good record of getting him to perform and at home when is on it he can mix it with anybody.Away could be a different ball game at times in the season but the six we have named in this watered down league i am quite happy with at home we will be hard to beat.

Mystic Meg you aint !
More like Septic Seb !!
Clegg,Ayres, Sarjeant ,could they be in the frame for the no 7 berth? i dont know what the rule is could Tom Brennan be available to ride or not on a 2.00 average.? probably not there has to be a rule.!!!

Happy with that welcome back Batch!! a very strong top five and Zach will be fine certainly at home. Away there could be a few wobbles along the way but i think we can make the play/offs.

Some of you dish out some personal garbage, but when one of its own hits a bad time, everyone rallys around and for that, you've revived my faith in this Forum. Get well soon Starry and look forward to seeing you selling the STAR around Wimborne Road.
Great post and speedway has made me meet some great people over the years and make some great friends speedway has so much going for it .This forum has shown with there concern for Mike that we have a terrific speedway cummunity and fingers crossed Starman is back well anough to watch his beloved Pirates come the start of 2018 season.

All the best Starman.

As long as the Abbey stays open i am more than happy with that, a new stadium does not worry me that much.I was worried maybe the Abbey would eventually be demolished and like other great venues be a part of history cant ever imagine Swindon never having a speedway team.
-
2 hours ago, Grachan said:We signed him later, then sacked him and replaced him with Andy Smith (I think).
I remember seeing KK practicing at the Abbey before he got injured he looked terrific he is so frustrating to watch now and you would tear your hair out everyweek.I think the side with KK in it looks a bit stronger but myself i would prefer Batch and put extra faith in Zach at reserve.

12 minutes ago, Reliant Robin said:So it stands to reason that Premiership Clubs should be able to charge at least the same as Championship Clubs? I'm not saying that they both aren't overpriced, but the comments of reducing entry to £10 due to weakening league doesn't stack up when you take a look at the strength of the league below and their gate prices.
I think Robin the Premiership should be 12 pound and the Championship 10 pound. now that the Sky money is not there ( higher than BT ? ) can clubs afford to do those 10 pound offers now.??
-
10 minutes ago, Steve Shovlar said:If you think the higher standard premier league is worth £10 why do the championship clubs charge £15-17?
Because now the gap is closer than it has ever been, unless clubs move up in the next few years one big league has to happen.
-
I just think Woryna is a different rider now,as long as his aquipment is decent i expect a big year from him. Also with his granddad's tie to the club he will be highly motiavated.

1 hour ago, Grachan said:Hoping for Bachelor, personally, although I'd be sad to see BWD leave. It does make us weak at reserve, but makes the side more attractive to go an watch, and I always enjoy his little melt downs.
I'll never forget on Sky, when he went storming into the opposition pits to cause a fuss, stopped and watched for a bit, then snuck quietly back to the Swindon side. He brings a bit of personality, and my son loves him!
Going by other teams reserve's Zach will more than hold his own and riding in the Championship as well will really help him. With Batch in that does look a strong top six i wondered if we did not have a few Thursday night fixtures could Danyon Hume maybe have been an option.? .Unlikely i know also coming back from injury and him then doing three league's is a tough ask.

12 minutes ago, Grachan said:If it is Batch then I guess the last place would be between Mitchell Davey and Danny Ayres (unless they can temp Liam Carr out of retirement). Whoever is at number 7, though, may not be there for the whole season.
More important than that, though, is that if Bachelor comes back he'll have to get rid of that moustache.
I actually dont mind Batch also he is good value on his average and we all know on his day can beat anyone.Could Rosco go another way say have two five pointers rather than Batch would we be a stronger 1/7 then hard call.
-
Just a shame Liam Carr has retired because he aquitted himself very well and he could gate. The last position is going to be tough to fill interesting now to see how Rosco finalises his team.
-
I think if we sign Batchelor or someone of the same ilk we will be looking good Musielak for me can do better. He can still improve certainly around the Abbey Adam, Zach will improve but the biggest thing for me is some of the other teams with there line up's hardly scare you.
-
5 minutes ago, Steve Shovlar said:And some Swindon fans had the audacity to slag off the two Poole signings last night.
Seriously, where's the value in that signing?
I am the complete opposite to you i like the continuity of this team why change for change sake.Bellego will find it hard to maintain that figure but we look quite solid and Bellego on it is very good at the Abbey i think at Home we could be hard to beat.

. Dag Lovaas was a classy rider who at Hackney for me had his best spell and challenged for the Golden Helmet he also made the 74 World Final .Edgar Stangeland was an exciting rider very good on his day see a fair bit of Edgar at. Swindon and the unlucky Rolf Gramstad.I can remember Rolf bringing the house down at the Abbey beating the legendary Ivan. Mauger in the meeting against Hull. Also a real shock was seeing Einar Kyllingstad. scoring a 15 point maximum at the Abbey also has to be a mention for the tough and classy Reidar Eide he should always be mentioned in amongst the Norwegian greats.

6 hours ago, Steve Shovlar said:Pooles final team, which would fit, could be:
1. Brady Kurtz
2. Spanneriak
3. Josh Graczonek
4. Hans Andersen
5. Chris Holder
6. Kacper Woryna
7. James Shanes.
just under the points limit.
If that side is assembled then Poole will be knocking on the door in 2018 a good blend of youth and experience
-
A real surprise Sczezpeniak but he has improved since his last spell over here and he is a good .gater. Woryna is a hell of a signing i was impressed with him at times at Coventry and he is a different propsition now he could do the same as Smolinski did at Birmingham the other year.

Why should Buster get other chances? i am amazed he is still in the job he is in no progress zilch progress promises made no results.I can remember his interview on TV in the Swindon v King's Lynn meeting with Rossiter he was a joke tried to be a total bully he needs to get his act together again as a promoter i dont see that happening to be honest. It seems to bother you though if other peoples opinions differ from yours.
As i am prepared to give Buster the time to put his plans into action, then i will say afterwards whether i think it is a good or bad thing. But according to you i have a blinded approach to life.Is this because i don't happen to agree with you?
-
Dont like that to be honest the dog , hopefully the 1/7 should be strong anough but with all these rules in place it is a joke manupulation of the rules comes to mind.Only gotta be that way until Nick and Bellego naturally drop their averages a bit
-
See Cliff ride quite alot at Milton Keynes RIP god bless.
-
A very good signing really exciting to watch, i can see him loving Owlerton and he will entertain the fans.I think he is capable of averaging seven or eight at home a real shame is that i wanted Sheffield back in the top league but saying that now there is hardly a difference between the two league's anyway. Also there could be an arguement made that the Championship is harder to win than the Premiership.Completely agree and its not that he scores points, but how he does it.
I won't forget seeing him ride Buxton a couple of seasons ago for Kent. Never seen anyone else tackle it like he did.
-
But your club now has to build to try to get those days back and unless a Drabik or a Dudek appears your club has alot of hard work ahead.Your main aim has to be to get your track back the track at times has been poor and we all know when prepared it can produce good racing.Poole used to be everyone's title favourite at the start of the season not anymore for me they have to get a big signing if not it could be a tough season ahead. But we all know with Ford he could pull something out of the hat we shall see interesting times ahead.Look at all our trophies.

You dont bother me one bit to be honest, just a shame you dont do Poole speedway any favours in the long run often giving people a stick to hit you with.
