  1. Please add Nathan Greaves to your list Sidney, as an injury replacement for our Danyon Hume and reserve for wolves, he is an absolute 100% trier and never give up attitude that fans just love to see for their team. He and mountain have improved so much this season it's great to see.

I would of course agree with that i did see Nathan at Swindon for a year and overall he did well now he is a diffferent rider really has improved i hope he keeps improving.

No disrespect to some of them riders, they're ok but they're nothing special.

Wajtknecht will be 20 when next season starts and he's done nothing brilliant yet. Poland have probably got a dozen riders better.

Connor Moutain, 20 this week and what's he actually done?

Parkinson Blackburn has failed badly this year. It might be the making of him, I've always said a tough year early in teaches riders to fail and they need a bit more than natural talent.

Alfie Bowtell? 21 start of next season, bit part NL rider.

If you haven't made it to PL second string by 20 hen you're never going to make it. Realistically you need to be heatleader by then.

We do have some great kids, Bickley, Bewley, Jenkins and Brennan look like being capable of being the real deal. But there's a little bit of getting over excited by some riders. They may go on to be decent league riders but anyone still riding/eligible for NL at 21 is NOT going to "make it" if making it is being SWC level.

At U15 level we potentially have a few diamonds.

Great post but you ent got a CLUE mate as usual, bitter and twisted but we will see eh!!!

  2. I think Hagonshocker has it spot on really, and yes dont forget Wozniak i have always liked him hope he is seen again on our tracks.Woryna for me can come in and hit the ground running and i think he can average seven plus i have a feeling he could be a real force around a PREPARED Wimborne Rd.

  3. I believe in the next five years will will have some really good Brtish riders coming through and all at the very least will make Championship riders i very much hope so anyway.Jenkins,Bickley,Bowtell,Brennan,Atkins,JPB,Wood,Rowe,Thomas, as examples all have a great chance to progress. And with the likes of Bewley Zak ( Hume/Phillips both bloody unlucky improved no end) Mountain,,Bailey we have quite a nice crop there am i to Enthusiastic??? what are your opinions.

  4. Bit of a weird post from you to be honest Gavan. Klindt was a brilliant signing... so not really sure what you mean by that. And I don't see any Pirates fans going overboard? Where do you get these things from? British speedway will be lucky to have more than 1 GP rider next year. Our expectations of a great signing have changed drastically. The new "great signings" are these young foreigners that actually want to ride over here. No older than our young Brits, but with greater racing experience, financial backing and from a winning pedigree.

Agree totally if the likes of Smektala, Kubera, venture over here to get experience that has to be good for us the spectator.I know Britain is way down the pecking order now but those riders named will improve as riders certainly if they have to master our more technical tracks.Musielak is a great example at Wolves he struggled did well away but that experienced gained certainly has made him improve as a rider.

  5. A great signing for the club and with his grandad Antoni being a really popular rider for the club it was always on the cards that Kasper would ride for the Pirates. When i saw him last year he really impressed me and he certainly has gone up two notches this year in his performances. His consistency is his problem crashes (ect) but he can iron that out Drabik is the next Pole to hit the bigtime a Future GP rider but Woryna is a very good rider in his own right. The Pirates with Holder,Kurtz,Shanes,Woryna have a good youthful look about them the future looks good.

  6. Lahti. define a Poole type of rider.

Finally got back to winning ways but made life extremely difficult for us when we were in control. A stupid disqualification when Wolves were on a t/r gifted them two extra points and in heat 13 with Poole on a 5-1, Andersens bike packs up. Second time in two weeks. Meaning what should have been a last heat decider. Only for Thorsell to completely miss the gate, tried to come charging through off bend four and knocked Kennett flying. Luckily Kennett stayed on but with Thorsell out of control the ref banged on the red light and booted Thorsells sorry arse out of the race.

Suprised it was such a good crowd considering last weeks efforts. Shows Poole fanbase is still strong.

    For Poole:

Brady much better than last week.

    Holder much improved.

Lahti hot and cold. Just doesn't seem a Poole type rider to be honest.

    Kennett trying but slow bikes.

Andersen tried but the EF could have been fatal.

Starke battled and Shanes was solid.

A far better all round efford from the team. We are not strong enough to challenge this year but at least showed some fighting spirit and pride.

    For Wolves:

    Lindgren started poorly but improved.

Howarth got better as the meeting went on but had a monster roller in his last.

    Schlein battled.

Thorsell had possibly his best meeting at Poole but cost his team dearly.

Both reserves were dreadful to be honest. Greaves managed to hold on to a second place as Shanes had a howler of a start and by the time he had got past Perks he couldn't quite catch Greaves.

Sorry Wolves fans even with Masters and Riss back I am struggling to see this team winning it this year. I had them down as favourites but have serious doubts right now. Just have to wait and see.

God you do not like Thorssell do you he did his job what more do you expect.

  7.

I don't agree. Fans don't care that a rider races for two clubs. Find me a single Swindon fan who thinks Nick Morris is less of a Swindon rider now he doubles-up for Berwick, for example.

What fans dislike is riders missing due to their doubling-up commitments. The solution to this isn't to ban doubling-up, it is to have better fixture planning and ideally fixed race nights.

I think you are way off the mark Matt changing race night's for alot of clubs will never happen loads of issues to resolve to get that to be achieved. My personal preference is to have a regular 1 to 7 and you have that side all year barring injury no changes at all then you will see the skill in team building.

  8. That is so , I am in the 60 years of watching phase and YES there is some truth in the above but we have not yet lost all of our critical faculties about life and speedway. Also speedway has failed for a variety of reasons to attract hordes of younger fans who might have pushed us seniors to one side with their buzzing enthusiasm - and who rarely moan. The criticisms many of us have are genuine and are factors in why the sport is not attractive to young people. It's still run mostly in an old fashioned manner which even wrinkles like me can see. So little has changed in the 50 years except the bike technology. And it has become so more more of a Gate and Go show, which it always was but to a lesser degree. Except at the highest level as in the GP!

One thing i have learned is some of the younger generation think 17 quid is to much to pay so don't go where someone like myself am quite willing to pay.You would of thought that would of been the other way around with the oldies having the stigma of all being tight buggers.

  9. Swindon in the 70s had some pretty average teams but alot of those riders were real racers and trier's the fans loved them Hitch and Keen of the lesser lights were my favourites both had long service ( Hitchey come and go not his fault). I loved the teams who had loyal servants riders like Haley,Smith,Wilson(2) Wilko, Cartwright, Wyer,Paulson,PC,Mort, Lewis, Louis, Keen, Ashby, Kilby, (ect) loads more we could name speedway then was a great team sport.

  10. The racing, the sport, it is still great... a brilliant spectacle. But every good game must also have rules that are credible. It only takes a certain amount of time for most to fathom that speedway can be very strange - cheering on one rider one night, when he's up against you the next week. A double-point gimmick that very rarely swings a match and only sheds light on a mere novelty thing that a serious sport doesn't need.

When the likes of TigerOwl begin questioning the lure of speedway to them, someone who must have spent many a midnight hour researching his love of the sport, we may as well get our coats.

Isn't every match nowadays just two teams resembling a Testimonial meeting?

When i first started going getting used to seeing a regular 1-7 was brilliant you got to know your teams riders and ended up with a affinity with them.Even if someone was out injured (ect) a no 8 who could be a future regular team member came in the second half helped along in that happening. The rules and averages in speedway now are madness all i want now is to enjoy the racing and have a decent night out Winning is not the be all and end all for me.

  11. Cookie was back on the gas last night, shaved 0.7 off the track record!

After how open he was with his problems last night, I feel this will be the turning point, and he will head to Russia and put in a good performance.

Good luck Cookie he really wants it be great to see him in the Series.

  12. Would imagine Somerset only get priority on Wright as Heeps signed late also?

Bloody Josh Grajczonek as well presume Somerset will get priority over Sheffield. You could not make it up Sheffield flying this year missing there no 1 rider Heeps and Lawson certainly missing Thursday i think.

  13. You and your facts are pretty much wrong as always

Perks scores away from home for Rye House:

    Swindon 3

    Wolves 4

    Poole 0

    Lynn 5

    Leicester 6

    Swindon 4

    Belle Vue 4

    His away scores for Wolves:

    Rye 4

    Belle Vue 4

    Somerset 0

So he rode the Rye track fine when he was there and had the odd decent away score.

He doesnt go great at Wolves but his away scores are what you would expect

At the end of the day he isnt good enough to be a number 6. Nothing to do with being made to feel welcome by the promotion or fans...........you really are a strange one

Honestly does Shovlar ever do his research?? he also commented on Thorssell saying his away form was dreadful total crap.He has improved that this year he can get better of course but he has improved again this year.

  14. Do you think that's why the attempted passes round the outside off bend 4 failed Sid? Each time they looked nailed on for a pass but for some reason just didn't manage it, strange one that.

The track is very grippy looks impressive but with the bikes the way they are now there is not much room for rider error always looks like a crash might happen.

  15. All of that is a repeat of comments made about Lambert

Bewley is a different kettle of fish altogether no comparison to how both there career's started.

He's a British youngster with less than two years experience. He obviously has a natural talent, a racing brain, maturity and looks to have the skills necessary to progress to the top. Whether he will is at this stage a matter of opinion and many factors can get in the way, injuries, not remaining dedicated and prepared to make the sacrifices necessary etc. My experience is that every now and again riders come along and you can tell that they are exceptional, Collins, Carter and Lee are examples. Having watched Bewley from his first ride with the Colts to the present I think he is in that same mold.

High praise indeed and i would agree with you if he has luck on his side and is dedicated he can go along way those three you named and Ward are the best young riders that i have ever seen.
