Peter Craven Memorial Trophy - Monday 18th March.

No speedway stream should be more than £10 when you can a Championship football match for that price. I would’ve paid £10 but essentially £15 is too much. -

Has the draw been completed for the semi finals yet? Anyone aware of a date if not? -
Which team do you think promised him a place and went back on it? Ipswich?
-
Completely agree with all the comments here. Definitely looks like a line up that should get numbers through the turnstiles though. Only went to Mildenhall once this year due to the issues previously mentioned but this team will make me give it another go in the upcoming season. Just hope they get it right because people will return if that’s the case.

Ipswich v King's Lynn 11 August

A very enjoyable meeting this evening. For Lynn, Jakobsen impressed early doors but didn’t quite carry it through to win the meeting. Pickering was a huge disappointment compared to when I’ve watched him previously. Thought Worrall rode well. Similarly, Jason Edwards also rode well. He’s definitely coming on well and improving all the time. One to watch. For the Witches, what a pleasure it is to watch Jason Doyle ride. Team rode brilliantly and is just generally a class above. As mentioned previously by another poster, worth every penny! I was impressed by Tungate, rode some good lines. It was also pleasing to see Summers come good in his last race. Couldn’t fault the effort of Starke but just couldn’t put the points on the board tonight. Understand the disappointment of the King’s Lynn promotion but they only have themselves to blame for losing that meeting tonight. -
Anyone know of any sites offering odds on the British Final tonight?

Danny's Day ==Mildenhall Sun 19 June at Mildenhall

Enjoyable to watch a higher standard of riders round West Row yesterday. It was great to see them attack the track as it should be, a lesson to the junior riders who ride with trepidation around the track. Really enjoyed the efforts of Kye Thomson and Zaine Kennedy. Albeit against not the highest standard of riders, I really liked Thomson’s style and aggression. Just didn’t quite get the line he needed in the semi final and missed out. Kennedy made some great moves throughout and was also unlucky not to make the final. Great to see Connor Mountain back at West Row and see all the progress he’s made. I also thought Connor Coles had improved significantly, with a more aggressive racing style. As expected, Lawson, King and Heeps were strong and a worthy top three. Fair play to all the riders who gave it a real good go and whilst there wasn’t huge amounts of passing, the racing was generally tight. To end on a negative, the length of the meeting was highly frustrating. I can understand a meeting of this nature taking longer, everyone understands that but it was far too drawn out. A half hour delay until the first race just isn’t right. I don’t intend on visiting Mildenhall very often as this seems to be a constant issue and has been on the times I’ve ventured over in recent years. -

Who was it? -
An absolute disgrace from the Brum promotion if they knew Ellis wasn’t doing a full season. Feel for people who bought season tickets after he had signed.
-
On another note, yesterday was the first time I watched Josh Pickering live. Lynn fans are in for a treat this year, what an entertainer!

What has happened to Pearson?

RIP Nigel. An incredibly sad loss for the sport and most importantly, his family. Reading the tributes over the last couple of days show what a fantastic person he was. Having grown up listening to him and Kelvin Tatum commentating, speedway will never quite be the same again.

Was very impressed by Jack yesterday. Showed good composure when in front of Palin and had a nice style. Hope he has a successful season.

I class myself as an avid speedway fan but am slowly giving up on watching the sport live. Constant, unreasonable delays at meetings with no information delivered explaining why. The racing didn’t start until 5.25pm despite a scheduled 5pm start time. Fed up of having to wait around for unjustifiable reasons. The constant stream of delayed start times due to the crowd still entering the stadium is ridiculous. -

Absolute shambles waiting around whilst they decide whether it’s a re run or not. -
British U19 Final, Mildenhall, 22/08/21

An embarrassing episode for Mildenhall today I’m afraid. Yes, there was a period of rain but nothing significant enough that should’ve resulted in that meeting being postponed. As a previous poster had mentioned, it’s an unforgiving track and the track must be prepared well, especially considering the age of the participants today. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve been to Mildenhall now and watched them have to try and resolve a poor surface. Without a doubt, it was the right call to postpone it before more riders got hurt. Best wishes to Nathan Ablitt, that was a horrible crash and I hope his injuries are not too severe. A real disappointment when looking at today’s line up and hoping for a well contested event. What I believe this does show is why events are consistently held at tracks like Belle Vue and Wolves. You can rely on them not to create a shambles like what was seen today. -
U-21 FINAL: BERWICK, Wednesday, October 21st
Speedway28 replied to crescent girl's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Interesting to read all of the comments on last night's action. It's very easy to highlight negative feedback but I don't think there can be many positives to be said for last night. Fair play to Berwick for their efforts with the meeting and trying to get the stream on. My main issue here is why wasn't there significant input from the BSPA to get a better stream working and pushed out for the meeting? Personally, I watched six heats and decided that was enough for me, mainly due to the stream. Yes, the racing wasn't great but generally speaking, people will still watch it if the product provided is sufficient. It may have 'only' been the British Under 21 Championship last night but I feel the BSPA have missed a massive opportunity to back up the positives of the British Final. With so many aspects of the sport, I see a half-arsed approach which will definitely be putting people off or preventing new supporters. Conversations like this have been ongoing for years and I really see no way back for the sport here which is a huge shame. I hope we can have a 'normal' sort of season next year but we will have to see on that. You can argue all day about the prices of streams e.g. British Final but unless you provide a sufficient product, you are never going to get anywhere. With regards to the meeting, I think it is very harsh to be critical of the performances on track for the young riders having barely had any or no competitive action this season. Congratulations to Dan for his win and I look forward to following his progress. I really believe if he can have a couple of injury free seasons and work on his gating that he can reach a really high level. Interesting comments on Bickley. I hope the lad can get over whatever seems to be holding him back at the moment but to be he just seems very timid whenever I have watched him live. He doesn't have that go in him or that real desire from what I have seen of him on track. Obviously this is just personal opinion and others would've seen much more of him. Next year is a big year for the likes of him, Brennan, Rowe and Kemp. Flint or Palin have one or two more years on that group I believe and have still time to progress but that group of four really need a big year to see them pushing anywhere near the highest level. -
Now confirmed by GB speedway that Woffinden is out so I presume they go with those four riders and give opportunities to Palin one night and Kemp the other?
