  1. Didn't think you were a nasty socialist. Speedway the UKIP friendly sport.
  2. Cheap public transport, sounds like one of those nasty socialist ideas to me.
  3. My view of Tomlinson is he's a motherlovin,' fecking, cant of the lowest order. No wonder that Rossiter is a great admirer. Mind they did look good together on Tomlinsons election literature. Peas in a pod perhaps.Says a lot about Swindon fans, they cheered the motherlovin, fecking, cant when he gave a party political speech at the Shabbey. Sorry I forgot, ole Justin saved Swindon Speedway, I know that because he said so.
  4. Don't take on so, I'm the no 1 doomsayer, didn't mean you, I live close by, unfortunately in Justin Tomlinson's constituency, the M.P. who saved Swindon speedway, just wanted your opinion, but now see the error of my post. I'm no writer I'm sticking with spanners from now on. I respect your views and apologise, best of luck to all the optimists.
  5. The new stadium encroaches on the old even further than before, I reckon.
  6. The revised matters has had an update.......good news for the doomsayers...it's all got worse!!! where's rmc and arnieg? check it out for a chuckle!
  7. Any new stadium news, or is it still no new stadium blues?
  8. Nothing important, 19 Sept. '85 Swindon v Kings Lynn, only the worst night in the history of a world renowned track, oh yeah I was there and I did think for a short while that Micheal Lee was hurt bad or worse.
  9. What no reply to the above from Mr Cooke? Bit strange replying to a post on here via a personal blog, could this be a first for the forum? If only you had responded to my post on here I could have informed Punch instantly that it wasn't about him at all, for his peace of mind. Presumably you will be liasing my trip to Tredegar so if you could provide more details it would be appreciated. P.S. I charge seventy pounds an hour for technical consultancy work. Have written part one of promised report, in the post today.

Apologies, I should have known that you know this stuff already. After almost nine years of good news stories some good news would be nice! Everything you say is spot on but can't help feeling the time for concern was nine years ago. Call me pessimistic by all means but I have never believed in this project for one second. Swindon Speedway 2017 anyone? P.S. Did you know there's a large care home for elderly dementia sufferers opening next week close to our new stadium?
  11. Be careful, teaboy will see this, you may be offered a ride to Wales with big R.....
  12. Be fair there's a water shortage, check the Blunsdon blag.
  13. This weeks Blunsdon blog..my knowledge of Swindon track prep. ends in 1985. From memory of info. gleaned from the blog, I'd guess Punch joined around 30 years ago. I meant the 50's 60's 70's good ole boys. I have no knowledge of Punch or indeed any desire to offend him, however I doubt if Punch was around in '85 he'd want take any credit for the over watering scandal of that year. It came to a head on September 19 v Kings Lynn, a nicely full stadium, Micheal Lee in town, heat 1 they did'nt get past turn 1, it nearly killed Richard Vowles, Micheal Lee too, did'nt do David Prowse any favours either, all three I believe to be good ole boys...well I did at the time. The records say the ref called it off, only cos he had no riders. Oh yeah the riders had been complaining all year about too much water. Part of the reason why I was somewhat harsh about tyre burning was because of the cheap elf 'n' safety reference, as someone who has spent a lifetime trying to convince enthusiastic youngsters that the motorcycle/chainsaw/petrol driven disccutter etc etc they are playing with are potentially lethal, the constant anti health and safety jibes one hears, get my goat, to put it mildly. As for a trip to Wales with Ron, what's that all about? Will I need my pyjamas? can I take my wife? only joking, she feels somewhat intimidated actually. I shall make a full statement to Mr Cooke and two lawyers mine and your Mr Bowden in writing drektly proper job like.

Have you read the letter to the agent dated 01 03 16?
  15. Thanks for that, what a brilliant, well written article by Colin Richardson, this is, anymore similar about?

Or maybe later 2016, well I can dream can't I ? The issues seem to have grown in the meantime. As they say in Cornwall......youm arse about face mate, it's not the council's job to badger themselves, as far as I can tell they've been waiting almost 12 weeks for a reply from the site agent, if G.I. want a new stadium, they can have one......when they finalise planning.(p.s. I admire your work and don't mean to be rude but this has been going on for almost 9 years!!)
  17. This weeks Blunsdon blog....tyre burning. I can assure readers that the people who worked the Swindon track for years and years with little or no fuss, would'nt have dreamt of deeds as idiotic as burning tyres to dry the track. Imagine the mess. Is it a joke? I take it as an insult to some good ole boys from way back then, still they had the benefit of working with proper Arbury red shale, that stuff you're using aint shale man.

He is already more aware of the situation than most of us and has vowed to fight, so presumably he's fighting as we speak.

Appreciate your concern but very few people round here ever believed in this doomed project. Swindon Speedway R.I.P.

You can see what's going via council website or rmc's post 241 or at speedway plus where an architect goes through it, so I guess its the site agent who needs emailing and Justin Tomlinson MP, who stated in a campaign leaflet that he 'saved Swindon Speedway' endorsed by Alun Rossiter.

I apologise, have just re read your post 213, the res. matters app. is not viewable at the moment (or is it just me and my lack of IT skills?) there is a plan showing the stadium overlap in there somewhere.(just re read it again so realise you know this already)
  23. HELP!!! advice needed, is it worth trying to understand this stuff, or am I better off remaining confused?
  24. That's certainly one big pile of dirt,Blunsdon Blag was impressed, signs of progress etc.......
