PLYMOUTH 'Gladiators' vs BERWICK 'Bandits' : Championship : 4th July 2023
MalDon45 replied to SpeedwayPortal's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think this is the week that it’s finally gonna click into place for the Gladiators. -
Does it not mention that his team mate was excluded for wiping him out for the first of those three?

Serious answer. No more rain offs than anyone else. Just a disproportionate amount of forum chatter when they happened. Racers like Howarth, Richie and Ben must have been happy enough with it this year to have signed up for next.
-
Only Richie confirmed. Ben strongly indicated. The rest just speculation I think.

As proven hourly by politicians at the moment, it’s obviously not possible to give anything but a truthful answer to a question… So without doubt that must be the truth. PS.. I have some magic beans for sale.. Honest! DM for details and pricing.

Guess the fairest way would be to take the aggregate league result between the two clubs. -

Track covers are fine beforehand for keeping the track dry. But tend to hinder Racing if left on once the meeting starts. -
Wednesday 7th September - play off - Poole v Plymouth

Steve… We’ve been taking stick on here for weeks from people (including Poole fans) wishing Ill on Plymouth. Mr Fords ego and desire to win in whatever way got the better of him. Stupid decision to go ahead with the meeting. And it’s cost him. Yes I’m glad about that. I have sympathy for Riders, Fans and others who are out of pocket after this farce. But not the promotion. The game of weather Russian Roulette he chose to play and lost, was entirely on him.. If you can’t afford to lose it, don’t gamble it. -

Sure we can sort them out with some if you like. We’ll give them a decent rate too. Gather they’ve taken a recent hit to the Bank Balance His ego and desperation to hit us while we were down got the better of him and he’s made a ridiculous decision on the weather… Happily it’s bitten him on the ****. Plymouth fans and the majority of fair minded neutrals are extremely happy right now. -

Any idea how much this pathetic farce has cost Mr Ford? If anything could make me even happier it would be a nice high figure….. -

Opportunity for Mark to hold some “ How to analyse available data and make the correct decision” seminar’s for the other promoters….. Give a little back to the sport and all that. -

As confirmed by Tom Brennan, Plymouth had the track sorted prior to the Referee sabotaging it. But let’s not let facts get in the way. -

Steve… Surely, even you can see this is wrong with Zero entertainment value.. Combined GSA of 22.29 + R/R… Tantamount to standing around the edge of the playground chanting “fight, fight” as the Class bully hands out a thrashing… Any Pirate Pride in this? -

That science stuff is so overrated isn’t it… And interpretation obviously beyond man. Those of us who went to bed last night knowing we were going to get wet today were obviously deluded….. be careful not to fall off the edge of the earth. -

In hindsight poking myself in the eye hurt. Ignoring the bleeding obvious is rarely a good thing. -

I’ve quoted, in the hope that anyone who didn’t see it originally get to marvel at this truly ridiculous post. To paraphrase…We made absolutely the correct decision but made it at the wrong time so therefore should be laughed at. carry on like that and you’ll get a seat in the new cabinet. -

Can’t the Poole promotion simply part the waters on their arrival? Maybe turn a little to Wine? -

I’m sure he did. It sounds like a great night. Just a bit like having the office Christmas Party on a Monday in June. Always likely to be some collateral damage. -

It’s fair to say the timing of the Middlo love fest didn’t help much either. -

Hey, we all get our kicks in different ways. If your lot came to ours, with no, Worrall, King, Lawson and minus a Cook. On the only night, many potential guests were unavailable, I’m not sure I’d be too excited about it. Or too proud of my promotion if they’d forced it to be that way. But, we’re all different… Hope you enjoy your night. -

Same sense of self satisfaction a big game hunter gets when shooting their prey in the back I imagine.
