  1. I don't normally go on here but I've been reading these posts and quite frankly I am amazed at how you all come to your own conclusions regarding this so just to set the record straight it isn't right that we wouldn't agree to change this fixture the fact is WE COULDN'T. When I get asked to change a fixture the first thing I do is ask my riders I can not make that decision for them as they have other commitments at the time we only had one rider that's in full time employment he agreed to ask his employers as the date was mid week. Another of my riders came back and said he couldn't do it my rider that is in full time employment then told me he couldn't get time off work at such short notice so we had to say no. These riders have these fixtures from the beginning of the season they arrange time off work and other commitments. I like your promoter he's good guy and works hard and if we could've changed the fixture we would've but two of my riders were not available. If you sign a rider that has other commitments you make sure he's available for your meetings if not you either don't sign or take the chance that the team your racing against can change. You're probably thinking now that this guy's obviously got something to do with Scunthorpe so I'm not going to hide behind any names yes I do have something to do with Scunthorpe I am the co promoter Gail Godfrey and yes wife to the Vice Chairman

The point he was making was that you go to speedway to watch the racing not to watch tractors grading every couple of heats if the track is right it does not need grading every other heat. How many meetings have you been to where all you seem to watch is tractors going round I know I’ve been to a few but I know which I prefer to watch and it isn’t tractors. See enough of them on the dam roads
  3. You've got your facts wrong there it was a couple of years ago they were thinking of closure and they made changes reduced costs and have made money last year and this. Yes they have been near the bottom of the table again but you won't get better racing team spirit or better management anywhere else the teams great the management look after them and their supporters they are never too busy to answer any questions even on a race night. They will tell you the truth which is very rare in this game and have answered my e-mails promptly and truthfully.
  4. Wow that's a surprise Peterborough called today's meeting off last night that must have been one lonely big rain cloud hanging over the track last night as the only dry place last night on our way to Ryehouse was when we went past Peterborough hit the M11 and it started raining again and didn't stop until we hit Ryehouse. Got there to find out Ryehouse was cancelled so we turned straight back made our way home wipers going like crazy stopped at Peterborough services no rain passed the junction for Peterborough about 10.30 pm oh what a surprise no rain no wet road lovely clear night but obviously that one lonely rain cloud was still there hanging over the track.
