    King's Lynn Stars 2020

Happy Clappers are indeed always happy in their rose tinted wold.

    NEW LOOK FOR STAR

Cannot see there being very many responses as in my experience feedback / ideas are not welcome as the '" it's all going well " idea seems to prevail with the promoters ( even when it's obviously not! )

    Is anyone losing interest

I think the heats you are referring to are not speedway racing but 1/2 lap from the gate motorcyle events. Very little interest / effort put in after that first 1/2 lap. For me, sppedway racing involves passing or at least the possibility of being close enought to pass ( or take advantage of a mistake by the rider in front ).

    Is anyone losing interest

Thank you HtG for doing what I just could not be bothered to do. I feel that an "industry" that would like you to give them your custom should make it easy - much easier than it currently is ( from your experience ). But that is speedway UK and that is part of the reaon it is slowly dying. May well try a match from Glasgow and possibly Poole. I would also be happy to buy in to a Polish stream for league matches there but cannot locate the How To. Amazingly after Eurosport 1 & 2 failing to show the SEC, I see that they will be showing the next round this Saturday at 6 pm. Looking forward to the GPs on BT. Armchair speedway is amazingly less stressful and more than adequate for me. I can see more than when I was in the stands at King's Lynn.

    2021 GP Series Dates

Thank you for that confirmation, I have BT Sport ( and Eurosport 1 & 2 ) but have been confused about now needing the Eurosport App to watch the SEC rounds.

    Is anyone losing interest

Pretty much the same for me I am sad ( in some ways ) to say. Is there a central place I can locate what streams are available, as I am eager to see and pay reasonably for matches? I have always believed that streaming may be a sport saver for speedway, but other than one try at Berwick I have not seen any. I must add I am not very technical or computer savvy ( much as in the same way I can drive a car! ).

    2021 GP Series Dates

I am more than a little confused about where and how the GPs will be on TV this season. Will we be seeing them on Eurosport or do we need to pay for the Eurosport App ( extra )? Which channel will they be seen on?
  8. Excuse my ignorance - is the Eurosport App different from Eurosport? I Have Eurosport 1 & 2 via BT and was unable to watch the SEC Round 1 on those channels. I was looking forward to watching Round 1 but that pleasure was denied to me. Is it now on You Tube ( I would watch it as I do not know the result - please don't tell me! ) But do tell me how I can watch future rounds, if you know. I would prefer to watch it on my Tv or or my computer but the link R&R put up would not enlarge from the much too small picture I got. Blessings,

Speedway - Plans, cunning or otherwise? Baldrick a True Genius compared to ...but ........
  11. Various kinds of speedway "swindles" are always being added to the British domesic racing scene. One swindle is that now we are at the £1:50 p per race ( almost certainly when inc parking and the raceday magazine ). And that is without any of the "special" food and drink deals. I am amazed to see that early season / first night crowds have returned with a decent bang, so it's a matter of will they keep up to that level which appears to be the previous real average gare in many cases.

    Craig Cook Sacked!

    Uninspiring from my perspective.
  13. I'm pleased to hear that and genuinely hope that, with the right attitude, he could still realise some of his potential.

    Eurosport

So was I and just did, however if it is designed to be a "magazine" it failed dismally as it showed merely the highlights of the BV match that was shown live on Monday. And not a milisecond of KL V Ipswich . Why? And as for the Live overage it was exactly 30 mins of speedway racing ( including each race replayed ) 30 mins of so-so interviews and 90 mins of advertising. Will record it and watch it later in future to FF the copious ads.
  15. One more match like that aand we wiill likely hear Bridger say "That's it I can't make a living doing this". Should they be paying him a £3 - £5k guarantee per match?
  16. Yeah! A Norfolk Rocker and we saw off those namby pamby mods at Yarmouth, that's for sure! I remember the enormous great cheer as a scooter was thrown into the sea, best place for it - some say.

    Eurosport

Commentary & presentation "out of the top drawer" then. I hope that they have added 3 or 4 ( or even half a dozen!) new phrases to go into the new era?

    Eurosport

That kind of shouting is never heard ( nor listened to ) and is viewed by Those Who Know Better as subversive and detrimental to the continued existence of the sport.
  19. My prediction for that is - mid September. "If you want to see top class speedway racing at Saddlebow Rd in 2022, start turning up in your droves " will be the cry.

    Peterborough Panthers 2021

Triples are for Snowlflakes, I genuinely remember the one day in my speedway supporting careeer when I fitted in - just - a Quadruple. Oxford in the morning and a double header at Rye House in the afternoon and Coventry in the evening! Back home to Northampton, Happy but cream crackered. It was over an Easter Weekend ( trying to find the diary that I recorded the matches in ).
  21. I wonder quite often if anyone with compassion or concern for what is happening to the sport, is "in charge".....
  22. I agree completely BUT give me matches where at least 50% of the heats have close racing with passing or some very likelu prospect of passing and I would still go ( providing REAL efforts were made with all aspects of social distancing / toilts etc - being 72 and preferring not to die that Covid way ). But for too many years what they have sold me was boring and very poor VFM.

    King's Lynn Stars 2020

No doubt they will still struggle and might yet make a hash of it! It's hardly a forgeone conclusion is it?

    King's Lynn Stars 2020

Cor those of us who have been going to KL speedway since it started, know how rough it was from every aspect. Now it's very civilsed and better than some. The front car park has no mud but take care if parking in the rear one.
