Glasgow v Berwick BSN Cup 19/4/24@7-30
gmarsbar2 replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tom's average is too high to replace Leon. Rather have Claus anyway. I was told Claus still flies into Aberdeen on a Friday for Workington's Saturday afternoon meetings and it's a Glasgow fan that picks him up -

Because the caution flying shale signs weren't enough to stop one person threatening legal action after being hit by a stone. So ruined it for everyone else -

Plymouth allow fans to cross pits access/exit to get to their grandstand in between races, there's stewards there to stop people until bikes leave track/once the two minutes come on. -
Factually he slide off in his first ride on the final bend when tailed off. Completed two more rides in which he scored. Then he withdrew from the meeting on medical advice, thus insuring Plymouth could use guests or R/R all season

Fact Tarasenko was available to everyone in the Championship, it was within the rules. Birmingham tried to sign him. Glasgow actual tried to sign Peterborough's other Pole Patryk Wojdylo but then it was found that he didn't even have the right visa to ride for Peterborough. So they then enquired about Tarasenko and because his Polish team had not made the playoffs he agreed to ride for Glasgow.

He's signed for Glasgow
-
Given that he's signed for Ekstraliga 2 (old Div.1) side Krosno in Poland I doubt it.
-
He better be a lot better than last season for Birmingham. I saw him twice: home v Glasgow (think it was his first meeting back) 3 points and last meeting of their season where he was especially poor v Plymouth 3 points where he twice beat NL guest Matt Marson and barged his way through Ben Trigger.

Cami Brown's mate, relates to riding for Glasgow in 2019. Back then he was a 6 point rider, averaged 9 at home. But steady decline since then, lots of injuries.
-
He better not be or we're in big trouble! I fear we won't be making the playoffs because I cannot see this team winning on the road. But then everybody is substantially weaker, so hopefully I'm wrong.
-
Think you'll find that a six point plus rider would be the third heat leader in all bar 2 teams at the start this year. I know by the time he increased his average to 6 the majority of those 5/6 point riders will have increase their averages, give we're starting 4 points below the average. Not that I'm expecting Pearson to get a 6 point average
-
He only beat Bowes and West. Rew and Kurtz fell off in his heats. Although the only other rider in the field you'd possible expect him to beat was Etheridge.
-
Add Workington and Scunthorpe to your list
-
He wont be an asset for Glasgow because he's owned by Belle Vue.

Finished 2023 on 4.96, so starts on 4.84. But has a squad place in Polish National League (old Div.2) so would probably rule out Friday nights at Armadale.
-
How have BSPL twisted it? He appeared on 2023 Final green sheets as 4.21 so with 2.5% reduction he's due to start on 4.10. Don't see how Edinburgh could think he would be on anything else. They could still use him on that average then if his average falls upgrade when riders like Gilkes or Rowe find their not getting enough meetings and are looking for a team, like Drew Kemp last year.
-
See above couple of British riders might be available. If a young Aussie impresses this winter and gets snapped up for the u24 Ekstraliga then no reason why Poole could change their team for the start of the season and sign him. Polish u24 Ekstraliga doesn't start until mid April so would be able to start on a 4 before riding in Poland.
-
Yes, but you don't have a genuine No.1. Tom Brennan & Ben Cook had higher averages in the Premiership this season than Kyle Howarth
-
But what about the 7 heats neither Harris or Worrall appear in?
-
So no Paco if your looking for consistency
-
Did you see him ride for Birmingham last season?
-
You're hard to please. Oxford the top pairing in the league for heats 13 & 15, 3 solid second strips - two of which are young improving riders and 2 promising 2 point riders. Obviously they could have signed a higher averaged rider somewhere but the promotion have done little wrong so far. I think they'll be near the top of the league. I'd prefer to build a team like that than go with 3 heat leaders and 4 reserves.

Rumour has him at Glasgow
