  1. Hi Dick Blackberry might be on the way out - I'm being out Teched by my 10 year old daughter and her smart phone - not good for my street cred!! Some whizzy Android gadget is favourable at the moment - only problem is coming up with a genuine credible reason to swap it that will get Elaine's approval !! I think there are too different approaches to season tickets - incentivise or differentiate. I'm not particularly bothered about shaving small(ish) things of the annual cost like parking or single programs, but would be happy to take up the options if it reduced the clubs cost and helped towards long term financial sustainability. e.g. Happy to have one program between 2 season ticket holders - don't expect a financial discount to the season ticket cost. Where I think all the clubs are missing opportunities is differentiation. For example (and these are random thoughts) Separate section on official website - only accessible to registered season ticket holdersAdvanced breaking news Specific articles Option for downloadable program rather than a printed one. Home matches Programmes available in downloadable format (current and/or historical) - blank/or filled in Away match programs in downloadable format Question and answer section Discussion forum (limited to season ticket holders only) - moderation would be more practical! advanced team announcements Target offers to season ticket holders Occasional offers for away matches entrance discounts (assumes an other club would play ball) Photographs of riders - past and present Feedback section ability to tell the promotion/management what season ticket holders think Tel
  2. I must confess I have previously gone out and bought Peterborough Speedway programmes going back to 1970 - way before I started following them. There is a place for old stuff and new stuff - I have printed copies of the Maurice Jones Speedway Surveys, I also have an electronic (PDF) copy of one of the later speedway year books. I would keep the programs, one day I might get round to scanning them and converting them using my OCR software. Another option would be Programs available in PDF format - how about winter nights with an e-book reader or kindle. (Note to self 128gb memory stick on she "who dictates" tablet and I could browse them whilst flying on holiday!!). {Further note to self - that might be too sad!!!} Tel
  3. As regular season ticket purchasers (and we will get them for next season) NOT happy with your suggestions. Occasional centre green visits - Having watched meetings from the centre green, and in the (very) distant past been on the centre green during Milton Keynes training sessions, don't see the attraction of standing on the centre green, you have to keep turning to follow the racing. Reserved Prime seating that's a double whammy -Could either end up in the cheap seats in front of the tapes - Not sure Trev would like us being that close to him!! or the really good seats in block D would start to get the Rif Raf in! A really good incentive would be - ability to park inside the Showground - resulting in me not having to carry "she who dictates" - artic protection gear so far. I keep hoping the days of programs are numbered - would much prefer something to download to a tablet, smart phone etc. Even better do away with the Tannoy system and transmit each heat result via Bluetooth or wireless. No need for a fancy (or in Coventry's case, a rubbish electronic scoreboard). Yes we do have smartphones and Tablets, yes I do have pre configured spreadsheets on them for each match. We occasionally read the programmes but never fill them in (unless someone who shall be nameless forgets to charge her Tablet). Tel We have 2 (season ticket holders) But only ever read 1 I also have boxes of the damn things in the loft Tel
  4. Good spot!!! Hope we have not got someone in disguise or a clone/mutation Tel
  5. Just think what it is going to be like on here next year, if they bring the AGM forward at least a month Tel
  6. I've convinced myself that the details are available (dangerous I know) Most banking systems should only require SortCode and Bank account. If "she who decides everything" gets back at a reasonable time tomorrow morning, I will see if she has the details and let you know. If I'm wrong I'll slink back under my rock. Tel

    Workington 2015

That's what I think 5.5 divided 0.6 comes out as 9.1666 recurring NOT 7.70 Tel

    Workington 2015

SCB Think we are talking about 2 slightly different things. I did not know last years documented rule nor did I discuss division as part of the calculation ( I did not have access to the rule or the stated calculation method). I agree that division by 0.6 will only work only for last years rules (although I suspect they may have ignored the recurring element of the result). I suspect the "concept" of merely dividing by an adjust will be dropped because as you pointed out it only worked for 0.6. I was trying to point out that you either add an adjustment to the EL average or multiply by 1 plus the adjustment. So going back to the Keith Hansen example you either calculate by Old school method which is 5.5 plus (5.5 multiplied by 0.40) - YOU can't divide by 1.40 and I never suggested that!!! 5.5 + (5.5 * 0.4) which goes to (5.5 +2.20) which equals 7.70 or new school which is (5.5 * 1.40 ) which also equals 7.70 Hope we agree that the 2014 version of the rule was badly worded by the BSPA and they can't use it as the basis for the adjustment calculation in 2015. Workington 2015

It was 1.6 - It is more to do with mathematical notion and how the calculation is laid out. (based on an Elite league average being increased by 60% for use in the Premier league 2014) Last year the conversion rate was elite league average plus 0.6 [iNFACT 60% E.G 60/100]. Lets use an elite League average of 10 ( yes I know 12 is the absolute maximum in any league) Old Notation 10 + (10*(60/100)) GOES TO 10 + 6 WHICH WOULD EQUAL 16 or put another way 10 + (10 * by 0.6) GOES to 10 + 6 Which would equal 16 new Notation 10 * 1.6 which also equals 16 Its just a more modern approach (or different) way to express the same thing Tel ( and before you ask - I'm old school maths)
  10. Sorry But on reading the Coventry thread they are suggesting Hansen is NOT riding in the UK during 2015 due to family illness. Tel Does North still have a viable Premier League Average ?? If not would he be excluded because his Elite League average is above 6.00 (same as Rory S.) Tel
  11. I make that line up 42.72 Bellego 6.06 Greenwood 3.12 Howarth 6.57 Tel
  12. The fans were told 5th and 8th paragraph of the AGM statement posted on the Peterborough Web site!!! Tel
  13. Peterborough were not allowed to stay at the AGM, left after first day so not involved in discussions or voting for 2015 - so not much they could tell us. Tel
  14. Taken from your strap line 8th September 1985 to 8th September 2010 ... Celebrating 25 years as a Rye House supporter Perhaps it needs updating!!
  15. I'm impressed a 25 year Rye House fan is interested in investing in Peterborough Speedway. Tel
  16. I think a lot of useful information was shared The costs of running the matches the challenges/barriers to promoting the club The BSPA constraints Who actualy "runs " Speedway What the riders needed to do beyond just racing on the track The ongoing debates regarding the fixture list and number of matches The potential promoters views on what they agreed with/disagreed with in respect of how the sport was run Some of the new promoters ideas although I did think one or two were too complicated/ambitious and would struggle to be implemented when they got into the detail Was also interesting that when it was announced it would be Premier next year - no one "spoke up" against it, yes not everyone clapped but it was an opportunity for them to challenge the decision. {added} There were also individuals in attendance who had different agenda's, not necessarily focused on "Saving the Club", for example making sure the reputation of previous promotions were not sullied too much!! Terry
  17. Trev But is anyone actually paying to update and maintain the "Official Site" anymore? Would not surprise me if any "Prospective" promotion can't use the Official site because the "Old Promotion" might still have its sticky fingers on it and is the only party who can authorise changes. just speculating Tel
  18. That's about 44.69 based on the BSPA issue 34 averages - unless my super duper new spreadsheet is way out. Tel
  19. Not a bad start although I have serious doubts about Bjerre and his commitment to the team over a full season. I'd prefer Danny King, if he wanted to do another season in the PL and his average fitted. Tel
  20. Allegedly they are even better if you lie down in front of one!! Tel
  21. Was there any explanation about the shenanigans with the air fence on bend 1 before the start of the meeting?? A very reliable source told me that all the spare panels had "walked" towards Coventry prior to the meeting!! Tel
  22. yes!! But there was a fair amount of optimism about 2015 down the steps separating Block C and Block D!! Think we will all be watching the forums closely (again!!) during the close season. Could not wait for end of year speeches - unfortunately had to be somewhere else quickly!! Tel
  23. Horton was there - sitting in the grandstand Block C !! Unless he has an identical twin Tel P.S Thought we had been knocked out the KOC!!!
  24. Surely!! that is exactly what the BSPA has done to the Elite League Tel
