The other issue you had was and as Neil has rightly pointed out something advertised as a 50/50 draw was more like 80/20 as the group I was with had more than 40 quids worth of tickets between us... so there was a few quid being skimmed off the top of that for sure... Regards THJ

In a word @Neila yes But a hope the club aren't relying on you to flush the bar wid profit on the back of your drinking exploits cos av seen you in action and between you an that Barry av spilt more down me tie... When you's won the money draw down at Rye House you's didnt even splash the cash... not one pint was offered... and I pulled your ticket out of the bag... Regards THJ

Aye Topaz ya not wrong you could tell that when Steve Lawson came second in that Chariot race wid Charlton Heston in Ben Hur... in fact am sure Steve said that's where he got the idea for the shape of the track from wid those extra wide bends... ;-) Regards THJ Beat you to it Marksman and full apology made above... and Keith told me he was only 49... that's what threw me... although he's been saying that for the last 12 years that I know... so yep big slice of humble pie.... But that's Cumbria all owa Marra when ya sister can be ya mother ya auntie and ya cousin all in one and ya grandma is a sheep... Regards THJ

Yep they are part of the problem and the promotion will fill them in and tidy that roadway up... and thats driving in imagine walking up that road in the dark... not good... there is a better footpath to the rear of the track that will be used as an access point that will be a more even surface to walk on but again not something I would like to do in poor light... Regards THJ

No it will be the gate in at present to the race track until the site is further developed and the folk who know the site will know what I am on about... nothing is as straightforward as it seems... Regards THJ

All it needs is a slip trip or fall and where there is blame there is a claim... once upon a time it was your fault if you tripped over... not now... and the walk to Northside is riddled with potential trip hazards... Also no one said it was remote however it is in an isolated position in the town without easy (walking) access at present but I can see that changing in the short to medium term... but it is much better if you are in a vehicle to get to the track... Folk will need to temper their expectations as this will be a work in progress for a number of years and a multitude of factors will need to be looked at as part of the on going process... Regards THJ

It isn't just the sunset time either where the track is located was another issue... there are many factors to take into account (and have been) when looking at the day to run on and the time to start... consideration had to be given to people walking to the track which is difficult in broad daylight let alone in any twilight... it ain't located on any main well lit road that is for sure... The other issue with running an NDL team on another day/night is what if your riders are being used by Championship teams due to a fixture clash... they the champ team will take preference and then we will need to have guests or run with r/r.... there is more than one factor to take into consideration other than the "best suits me" scenario.... my first choice would be Saturday 19.30 under lights... then a Monday same time would you believe but neither are doable at present... so it will be what it will be and if that impacts one or two fans I'm sure it will open doors for one or two others... As the Bishop said to the actress it's gonna be a case of "just suck it and see what happens"... Regards THJ

Its also supposed to be family entertainment; somewhere to take the kids; So 7:30 on a Friday night may not be ideal for families as its in from school then back out again with the kids after a week at work for the parents; then likewise on a Sunday (day/night) as daytime Sunday lunch (if any one has that these days) and night-time its school the next day!!! so are you just thinking of yourself here as to what suits you sir (ooooh suits you sir!!!) as a Saturday morning or late afternoon doesn't really impinge on much for the locals; they can come and watch their Speedway with the kids then go and do the Football or the Rugby in the afternoon... when it was the other way round I know quite a few guys who used to come to the speedway after watching either sport but often missed due to the drinking culture so you only seen them when either sport was away from home... Jenga comment just landed in and this covers his thoughts as well... Regards THJ

Correct Steve, At present Andrew is the sole promoter however he does have an experienced mentor in a fellow club promoter... Not sure how well this will go down with the Blue and White faithful but his mentor is none other than Mr Rob Godfrey; Chairman of the BSPL and owner of Scunthorpe Speedway... Now I know there is a little history between the Comets fans and Rob (in his other roles) but being totally honest; Rob is a straight guy and has the best interest of the sport at heart and will support Andrew 100% in his endeavours; and to be fair he doesn't mind being portrayed as the bad guy as its water off the proverbial ducks back to him and it also contradicts what his better half says about him that he is erm "a big soft erm softie" (edited for politeness)... Also I can confirm that she is right... another 100% on that score too... Regards THJ

Oooh yo are awful but I like you... however its not costing the club a penny... a very generous sponsor has been found who will be paying for the suits... Yes and no... not trying to be elusive but it will be a Saturday and me personally would like it to be a couple of hours earlier but the consensus seems to be later not earlier (seen your Rugby clashes) and this is to accommodate any locals who may be working a Saturday morning shift... floodlights would definitely make it later... just have to wait and see what transpires after the new year... And a butt plug for you... a very large one at that... However the other bonus will be Steve Lawson in the pits who will be there to offer advice... and if these young kids (and their mechanic's) don't grasp that with both hands and listen to what the legend is saying they will definitely miss the opportunity of a life time...
