I hope he does repeat history, but let’s be honest based on his recent form I don’t see him finishing top 6.

Ah it was more to do with a new rider coming in, and surprising everyone. I love Tai, he got me back into watching the GPs........ I'm not convinced he should be there next season (though I'm happy he is)

That could well be the case. I also wonder if strong representations have been made /are being made to try and get Becker in?

I possibly wouldn't be against that.....

    So, maybe,

    Zmarzlik

    Lindgren

    Vaculik

    Holder

    Masden

    Lambert

    Kvech

    Michaelsen (?sp)

    Bewley

    Ledbedevs

    Becker

    Doyle

    Wozniak

    (Ideal world)

    Laguta

    Sayfutdinov

If not the Russians (Poles), then

    Woffinden

    A N Other (? Thomson)

That’s very kind of you, thank you. I suspect you’re correct, between claims and counter claims we’ll probably never know the full truth. At least in Wolves’ situation the fans have been told there definitely won’t be speedway next year, but the plan is to return in ‘25. They have that hope to cling on to. The Peterborough fans at the moment don’t even have that, it seems as though it’s a case of “that’s it” unfortunately. It needs further, fuller explanations from those involved rather than leaving the supporters with so many unanswered questions.

I'd love to give a huge reply to this, articulate a massive response, but I feel, quite simply, you're 100% correct, and you've said everything that needs saying........ sad times for the whole of British Speedway...... cheers

Chapman is no saint, not many people are. But I’m struggling to understand where the likes of you and Flappy are coming from here with regards to Keith Chapman. do you genuinely believe that Chapman has refused a cash offer to buy the club, and instead plans to just close it down for nothing out of pure spite and lose the money offered? Why would he do that? He’s a business man he’s not daft.

    Hi Aries, hope you're well.......

I've read, and totally (I think) understood all your posts tonight........ I've seen no threats by you at all, just you urging caution that people don't libel themselves on this forum, if anything, you've been a voice of reason, not in so much as you're banging a drum, simply you seem to be saying 'people, be careful'...... I've liked the approach......

I'm a Panthers fan, started (?) late 70s or early 80s, NL days, Andy Hines, Richard Greer, Mick Hines, Dave Allen, Andy Buck, Ian Barney (apologies to the other legends I've missed)..... became lost to the sport, then pretty much came back due to Tai Woffinden ridiculously winning his first title....... what I'm trying to say is that when I first started watching P'bro, the EOES was almost rural, just off the A1, nearest houses probably in Alwalton...... over the years, P'bro has spread massively, so that now it's a proper part of the city.... and in my eyes, therein lies the problem...............

I personally don't think it's impossible that KC has met developers, and they've said, 'we'll make it worth your while to go quietly'..... it might be highly improbable, but not impossible........ and any potential (ahem) future sponsorship of KL would be worth significantly more than selling an air fence, a name, a couple of tractors... developers have a lot of cash........

I guess people like ourselves will never know the full truth..... and so the claims will always carry on....

    Cheers

Edited to add that I forgot the Aussies..... Mick Poole, Ron Schliebs, Craig Hodgson (RIP)... plus the others....

  5. Apologies, this may sound stupid, I can be quite naïve at times, but is a drugs test, checking your pee? Coz I had a pee 40 minutes ago, and no way could I do another one right now (though I'm 51, so probably Mr Prostate has something to do with that)....... would they let you drink a couple of litres of water? Purely interested / curious, that's all

With Ben91's permission, my thoughts. (Don't worry lad, get someone to explain them to you).

I really have a soft spot for Berwick, but even allowing for the power supply problems that wasc awful. It was only bu chance reading the comments on the Speedway Updates that I found a working link. The meeting ambled along with no sense of purpose or urgency and we were rewarded by the cancellation of the key final three races. Yes, they'd had problems but they didn't seem to be trying to make up for the delays.

I was dreadfully disappointed by the TV coverage - lousy sound, poor camerawork including the key rerun of heat 16 out of focus and a poor choiuce of support for Goddard.

I've donated because I believe passionately in the future of streaming in speedway. I love my trips to Shielfield Park and was happy to get an 'extra' trip up there.

Speedway can be wonderful. Sometimes it can be awful. Sadly this was the latter.

I won't post more because it'll only annoy Ben 91. Hrey Ben, I'll take a day off easily - I'll just think of your inane postings and that'll help. There is one condition - you take a month off......................

Hang on, you were quite rude to Somellier earlier, yet you’re the victim here?.................

I'll agree with you that generally it is, l don't know if you saw the Polish play off final but there were 2 clear examples of how to and how not to team ride. When Gorzow were struggling to build up any kind of lead during their home leg I remember 1 race where Wozniak was struggling to hold 2nd place while Zmarlik was blasting around 30 yards clear at the front and Wozniak really could have done with his help. Then the best bit of team riding I've seen in years was Pawlicki doing all he could to get Pludra home for the win in the final race of the season, was a joy to watch.

Wasn't it just........ I was even shouting at my laptop :)

Tai wasn't really though was he? He wasnt a top rider in Poland, he was a rank outsider who was almost universally tipped to finish last...

Yeah, I remember at the time (and this isn't meant as a dig as such, I don't think anyone thought he'd win it) that he should be sponsored by Audi (OOOO).........

My missus cancelled BT sport at the start of the lockdown. SKY sports will be next. Watching football matches behind closed doors don't do it for me.

It seems loads of people agree with you........ since its comeback, I don't know anyone who says they are enjoying football, including me......... still, if it saves 2 lives every 6 weeks.........

Given the circumstances would it not have been better to scrap the challenge this year as all the riders are in same position as Fricke and go with same riders next year. There are a number of riders not being given a fair chance of qualifying this year with challenge being a straight Final

......or even, if they felt compelled to have it, stage it after the GPs
