Kent kings are no more ??

Like many others I am very surprised by this sad news - I may be clutching at straws but Dan’s Facebook post says that Kent Kings will not be running in 2022 but does not mention Kent Royals - Is Len going National League only? - Again like many others I have really enjoyed my trips to Central Park this past season where we have seen good speedway and sincerely hope that this is not the end - If it is then thank you Len for running these past few years -
  2. Agree with you Gemini - I was fortunate to be there in the main stand just a few feet in front of the start line and in the front row - An absolute corker of a meeting and every time Belle Vue put distance between the two sides back came Peterborough - I stayed overnight and was looking forward to seeing the meeting again on Quest that evening - Major disappointment with so many adverts and missed heats including Dan’s heat 11 (I think) victory with him making his way out to the outside line on lap 3 and building up the speed to pass MPT - A big thank you to the track staff who once again provided a cracking track for proper racers - Only downside at the meeting was how long it dragged on from the first race 18 minutes after the start time and continuous gaps to suit the Eurosport coverage - Hope the 2nd leg provides the same level of racing and good luck to both teams -
  3. For all speedway fans - The first leg of the Polish Extraleague final between Lublin and Wroclaw is being shown live tomorrow, Thursday, on Freesports starting at 7pm - Which means a chance to watch Woffy, Janowski and Dan Bewley amongst others -
  4. And the commentary wasn’t bad either Dave - well done you and a good post
  5. I Know Kier Starmer Fan is - He just loves his Polish racing - He wouldn’t miss it
  6. Another potentially exciting match tomorrow with the visit of high flying Edinburgh - Over the last few weeks we’ve had some really good speedway at Central Park and although I follow another Championship side I find myself looking forward to their matches each Tuesday - Not sure if messrs Masters, Worrall, and Pickering have ridden there before though pretty sure Nathan Greaves will have in National League days and if still at reserve could be potent - If pushed I would go for a Kent win but Edinburgh are proving hard to beat so should be good right the way through -

    Live Speedway tomorrow on Freesports

The correct section is ‘International World Of Speedway’ but not everyone looks in there - Thought it would be a good idea to let as many fans know of free tv speedway who may not have known about this and featuring Tai Woffenden, Macief Janowski, Dan Bewley, and of course the current World Championship leader Artem Laguta amongst others - For me as long as it means at least one speedway fan now knows about it and will be able to watch it then I think it is justified -
  8. Just had another look at the times for Thursday and Freesports now showing the tv starts from 7pm instead of 7.15pm -
  9. Agree with much of what you post here Waco and you do mention ‘a strong lions team’ - I was very impressed by the professional manner of a well drilled Leicester team who were constantly quick out of the gate and did what they had to do by getting the maximum 4 points on offer - Well done Leicester and good luck in your chase for the title

Panthers vs. Tigers 20/09 Live on EUROSPORT

Scotty still rides the NSS well - I certainly don’t think he hates it and didn’t he finish 5th or 6th in the British Final? - I was lucky to be there in the stands - He had a real good go and the crowd was pleased to applaud him when he came round for a thank you lap after the semi final he was in - Will be very interesting to see how the play offs pan out - Hope the weather gods are speedway fans! -
  11. Just putting in what is on the planner - interestingly at present 7pm - 7.15pm is showing as ‘Freesports: This is Freesports’ - so wiggle room there

    Redcar Vs Leicester 10/09

First time I have tried streaming and thought it good value @ £9.99 - I know Glasgow and Edinburgh do this also but more expensive - If this is the way forward for those living away from the track then I would be happy to pay for 3 meetings each week @ £9.99 a pop - Maybe others have ideas about the whole issue? - Getting back to the meeting Leicester much quicker out of the blocks for the first half but a good comeback from Redcar and really good close racing throughout - Pleased that home teams can use a tactical substitute as it made this meeting more exciting for this neutral individual and also in the event of a draw the away team gets a bonus point - Thank you Redcar

‘four world champions’ John - Can remember Ivan, Ole, Pantomime Villain - who was the fourth please?

    Wolves v Panthers 13/9

In the ‘A ‘ fixtures Belle Vue and Peterborough drew at the NSS and later in the day Belle Vue won the away fixture by ten points - And no probs with the track that day - You seem to have forgotten the ‘B’ fixtures where Belle Vue lost at home by four points but in the away fixture ridden on another day Belle Vue won by fourteen points - That makes an overall margin of ten points in favour of Belle Vue in both the ‘A’ and ‘B’ fixtures - Should Peterborough finish top I do not think they will pick Belle Vue based on their previous meetings this season

    Wolves v Panthers 13/9

Are you serious? - Have you been drinking? - Can only hope for a Belle Vue and Peterborough final - proper speedway tracks along with Redcar and Scunthorpe and Kent (if they widen the whole track) -

    Derwent Park Workington

I was at speedway practice today and got talking to the gent who had told me Northside were due to do training in September - He now says the plan is November - I hope he is right - I also managed to talk to another old un like myself whom I asked about grass track racing to which he pointed in a direction away from the current Iwade track and confirmed that yes they did have grass track racing years ago ‘ over there’ so nothing wrong with your memory there Singy 13 -

    07/09/21 1830 Kent v Scunthorpe (Champ)

Just back from what was a very entertaining meeting for this neutral speedway fan and great credit to Kent who dug deep to turn a ten point deficit after heat 11 into a victory after it looked as though the match had got away from them - I was very impressed with Scunny’s Josh Macdonald - First time I have seen him race and probably his and Theo Pijper’s first meetings at Central Park - Seven rides, no last places, ten points, and in the thick of the action throughout - The track did have a blue groove after heat 6 which was not sorted until the interval - This also happened a couple of weeks ago after no reports of it in earlier matches although it was there virtually all the time in the National League days - This needs to be sorted out - Scunny move on to a tough home match against Poole with Kent entertaining a tough home match with Leicester followed by the away match at Beaumont Park - Fans certainly getting their money’s worth this season at Central Park - Thank you Len Silver

    Peterborough Panthers 2021

On the contrary it has been known for clubs to tell a rider to be sick when approaching a must win match if said rider was rubbish at that track - Try looking at this situation objectively and without your Poole hat on - The management have to treat all riders the same - They cannot be seen to be favouring riders - For what it is worth I do not think Bjarne Pedersen has acted inappropriately -

    Peterborough Panthers 2021

I think this rule was brought in to stop riders and/or team managers pulling a fast one when said rider was due to ride at a track where he was rubbish - By putting in a 7 day ban it effectively means the rider will miss out on other meetings -

    Peterborough Panthers 2021

Easy to criticise - what would you do?

    BHM - Aces/Wolves double header.

Think he must have been playing with his Dirtometer!

Kent Kings vs Birmingham Brummies 30th August 4pm

Good to read it was a good meeting - Bomber’s score low but was it his first time round this track? - Thanks for the track info as well - Will be there next Tuesday
