Because they organised it ,  invited just the ones that lived near the hosting tracks and brought in a GP rider to compete against a second halfer , a fun rider and a novice. Not that the SCB knew the standard of two of them as they ( he ) had never seen them ride but just checked they had a race licence.

The ladies, all of them, deserved better.

Wonder how many will be at Redcar for the final round ?…..enough to fill a race ?

    Just the two .

What an embarrassment. Whilst Liebmann is probably UK Championship standard , she was very quick, why did the SCB feel it needed to fly her over to ride against a junior and call it a championship with only 2 riders in two out of the three rounds?
Waste of time and money .

Nice to see some results. Would it be to much to let the fixtures be published? (And if not, why not?)

Might just be that because the senior teams keep moving fixtures and the BYC keep moving dates then the NJL have to change the dates of matches so a published fixture list for juniors isn’t worth the paper it is written on. Redcar Cubs have had their first three fixtures postponed due to circumstances they had no control over, please remember they are at the mercy of their clubs and mams/dads and rider availability.

  3. So you dont know the rules for qualification but still think your comment worthwhile and helpful to a rider out of form ?

Your right on one thing, it’s none of your business…… so why make such a disparaging comment ?

Harrison is in his first season at this level so wouldn’t be within the qualification guidelines, which as usual with the SCB are not clear and open and can be changed for “the benefit of the sport “ at any time. Harrison is just back from injury so he will get his chance , quite possibly on the day , this could be Harry’s last chance to ride in this meeting,

and if your sure there’s more under  19’s ahead of him…..impress me, name them.

Let's be honest I'm old school and maybe not pc for today, but if my 3 x15 year olds had done something like that at that age in any sport they were in, quite a lot but not speedway admittedly, I'd have banned them and taken their toys away, but hey they're late 30's now and lovely level headed adults.....

Let’s face it, the SCB have a long history of dealing with individuals and clubs in a very inconsistent way, it’s called favouritism. I’m not commenting on the individual case as it appears very few know the truth about what happened but when it comes to dealing with such things you can rely on the SCB NOT to be clear and open about their decisions.

I'd rather see Max James or Luke Harrison in the meeting than Harry McGurk who can't score a point to save his life at the minute

Silly comment. Riders go through tough patches , comments like that hardly help them. He’s got his place on merit, based on performances from last season, this may be the opportunity to get his confidence back .

It still says he has blurry vision in the German section  of the article on his website. Whoever decided to change the English should have done the German bit too! Cos I will translate it and have screen shotted it this time too!

So if it’s in print , it must be true ???

like some of the rubbish we see on this forum. ?

what was actually said, then interpreted, then printed, is quite often a long way off what was meant.

If he wasn’t right, he would not be riding, that’s why he took so long off. He certainly didn’t look dangerous whilst scoring paid 13 last week.

I thought when you have 3 x 3.00 riders its then a BSPL decision who rides where (usually the rider with most experience/previous higher average). Whilst there might not be much to split between Wood & Lyden theres no way Parker should be in the 1-5 .......completely seperate from whether he should be in the 1-7

Upto the club who they put where. Parker is a sacrificial lamb in this scenario and he knows it, very much in at the deep end but he will give it a go.

Lyden coming back from ‘injury’ might be suspect but Booth is not ready for NDL either so be interesting as to who stops on and picks up some points. Championship riders up against second halfers/ amateurs , not a good idea but what choice is there ?

You don’t read well do you? No riders are allowed on the track whilst machinery is operating. The two minute warning is an indication from the referee that the track is clear and the pit Marshall can release the riders. Accidents and near accidents have happened in the past between riders and machinery but these are now avoided but safety procedures have improved. And rightly so.

In years gone by, the two minute warning was put on as a “hurry up”. Nowadays, it’s part of the start procedure and is entirely unrelated to whether or not riders want to race.

Absolute rubbish, it is NOT part of the start procedure.

The ref can put on the 2 minutes whenever he deems fit, yes, the track will be clear and he will speak to the clerk of the course ( not the Marshall ) but it’s his way of hurrying things along, simple as that. You can have 3 riders already at the start and the ref puts the 2 minutes on to hurry up the fourth rider who may have two on the trot or, as a few riders are, slow getting their act together.

Jody Scott had to sign for Oxford before he got an average & Ashton Boughen started above 4.00 for Leicester after his guest appreances last year.

The ruling posted by S4S doesn't state what happens after they've ridden 4 meetings though?

You get an average!…..like Boughen did .

Apologies got that bit wrong. However one of Wood or Lyden will need to go up into the 1-5 and if Lyden happens to still be suffering from his work place injury the Simpson could be named as AR. He could then take 3 RR rides and Spooner the other, plus could take a ride each from Wood and Parker. Whilst Simpson might not be a world beater that situation certainly looks like it would generate more points than the current declared 1-7.

and wrong again….you can’t name an A.R. with an average above 3 or/ and is named in any teams declared 1-7. So until Simpson’s average is below 3 he can’t be anybody’s A.R.

  12. 19 hours ago, Sings4Speedway said:

Think you can name AR at any point this season not just if running RR and they can take any rides so in theory could take a ride each for Lyden, Wood and Parker.....you would fancy Simpsons chances to get a decent return in heats 2,8 & 14.

Don’t be silly , that would mean you’re having an eight rider team ! You can only declare an A.R. IF R/R is being used and even then you don’t have too, although silly if you don’t.

Only 2 ladies at worky today, Celina and Katie, Celina very stylish but poor Katie took a heavy by fall when her bike flipped coming off the start gate, took a ride in the ambulance, but thankfully was on center green for the trophy presentation

I feel sorry for the two ladies who gave it their full commitment. Poor show from the SCB for not getting a larger field, yes there are more lady riders out there, and putting a GP experienced rider in this ‘field’ was a joke.

Don’t know how you work that out. What I said was factual. He scored 14 and 13 from his first two home NDL meetings and 4 last night. Do you think maybe his heart wasn’t in it? 11 from Kyle last night would probably have won the meeting for Edinburgh. IMO

I worked it out because it was a childish comment. Yes, his heart wasn’t in it but you, being silly, have suggested it was ‘ revenge ‘, a very, very childish comment.

Recent history, do you think that team would have won at Scunthorpe?

Two weeks ago Redcar fans wanted rid of Danyon & Connor after they lost at home to Poole.

FYI Marcin Nowak has a higher average this season in Polish Div. 2 than Ryan Douglas, Sam Masters & Nick Morris

The Redcar fans didn’t, just a couple of the usual key board warriors did. Every club has them, unfortunately.

  17. Despite the initial publicity by the powers that be of their idea to stage a Ladies Championship ( we all know who did it first ) there has been virtually no publicity since and the first two rounds are this weekend , at Edinburgh and Workington. When you see the entry list you can perhaps understand why.

Just FOUR ladies entered at Edinburgh. We haven’t been told if the same four are at Workington.

Katie Gordon, reigning champion who rides regularly in the Northern Junior League.

Morgan Leonard who has just started riding a 500 cc machine .

Wendy MacAllen, a lady who has attended speedway practices and has a motorcycle background.

Celina Liebmann, a German who ride’s professionally in the Polish league and has ridden in the Grand Prix 2 series.

So why so few when double that amount entered at the I.O.W. ?

Im guessing Liebmann was invited to ride by the S.C.B ? Why ?
She is clearly a very talented rider and way and above more experienced then the other three competitors and it seems a little unbalanced a field for a GP rider to compete in.

Good luck to all the ladies but come on SCB , give the girls some publicity and make it an even playing field.

Getting a gating lesson tonight. Tigers very lacklustre. Atmosphere at track like a morgue. Piper out ohis depth. Complain looks burnt out.  Missing Basso  without  doubt a big miss especially with the composition of this team. The Pole hasn't turned up either. Not happy with Tigers tonight!

    and Bears without a no.1 !

A lot keeps getting said that scunthorpe run Nora speedway events as a point of interest could someone actually clarify which meetings these were and on what dates and which riders were present. Or is it that scunthorpe run Nora licences events such as dirt diggers meeting,  flat track series run by Richard Hollingsworth or stock cars.
would be interesting to get the full picture based on facts rather than assumptions based on not liking Rob Godfrey.

Nora events are ‘ flatrack ‘ events or ‘  ‘ Dirtrack ‘ , ( 2 different companies but both run under Nora rules ) but the last one that was to be held at Scunthorpe was cancelled as the company didn’t think the track surface was suitable for their event which was to include sidecars and quad bikes. These events are not solely  ‘ speedway ‘ but have included 125 , 160 adult and 250cc speedway races. These same events have been held at both Kings Lynn and Redcar and possibly one or two other tracks ? Iwade ? Sittingbourne ?  Richard has also run his own flat track events, not sure if the SCB licence those , presumably they are run under ACU regulations.
