    Cook, Vissing and Kennett banned.

Good luck with that but if successful I wouldn’t get too excited - according to his Facebook page he’s off on holiday tomorrow now
  2. Pretty sure bowtell shared in a couple of 5-1’s in eagles first visit in championship shield while Edwards is a gilt edged prospect - sure, inexperienced at this level but if he rides anywhere near as well as he did in each of his of his first two aways in eagles colours (Glasgow and Redcar) we shouldn’t expect but I anticipate a meaningful contribution - with Kennett, Lawson and Kerr all in good form I reckon if eagles are to win a league match on the road this season this could be it - Newman will inevitably still feel he has a point to prove while wood, in spite of comments above to the contrary has enjoyed some fine moments at Perry Barr - as an Eastbourne fan I will be travelling in hopes of a good performance - we were great in the shield match, a lot less so in the cup. Not underestimating the brummies whatsoever though - in spite of all the chopping and changing this will be one they need to win and needless to say they are fully capable - hoping that a great match up is in prospect
  3. Just spotted this and felt compelled to make mention - I hope you don’t mind me making comment regarding H Gould (and hope he doesn’t either) but it just so happens I have spoken to him a couple of times this season and occasionally over the years and I’ve always known him as a Birmingham fan - I say I know him, I don’t really, not well at all but he one of those people I’ve been accustomed to seeing (mainly around the midlands tracks) and over the years we’ve nodded to each other and in the last couple of years we’ve exchanged the odd pleasantry this season I saw him and nodded at eagles opening meeting but then during the cup match we actually had more of an extended conversation when I learned, or rather assumed by what he was saying of his identity on this forum - whether that’s his real name I know not, our ‘speedway relationship’ has never gone as far as exchanging names - more nods and the occasional handshake - I enjoy reading the comments on this site but seldom post. I often wonder who some of people behind the identities are and how heavily they might be involved in the sport - I’m guessing from your post here that you think you might have caught someone out but having spoken to H Gould in recent weeks, unless I’m missing something I think you might have got it slightly wrong here

    Curfews

Think you’ll find that Kent’s curfew extends 2 hours beyond start time so if they chose to start at 5.30, curfew time would be 7.30 - presuming that 8.30 is the latest that they can finish hence the half six start time
  5. The matches in question with Newcastle winning at Canterbury, then eastbourne were in 75 and 76 - Newcastle team was Tom and Joe Owen, Ron Henderson, Brian Havelock, Robbie Blackadder, Phil Michelides and Tim Swales - something along those lines anyway
  6. DWaller

    Newcastle 2019

Very much agree - but for a couple of possible lapses in concentration and a bit of ill fortune (plus no previous knowledge of Arlington) he could have bagged a couple of race wins
  7. DWaller

    Eastbourne v Newcastle 8/6/19

Great too to have Kevin Coombes back on the microphone tonight - missed him over the last few matches - the man is quality and the whole product and experience steps up a notch or three when he is presenting
  8. DWaller

    Eastbourne v Newcastle 8/6/19

Great win for the Eagles tonight - agree totally with HGould - the club seem to be doing sterling work in introducing youngsters to the sport and getting them engaged - some great work going on there and the community team are surely worth their weight in gold - the kiddies look to be having a great time with smiles all round - team doing well certainly at home, maybe need to up their game away from home but to be truthful there are no easy matches away in this league - hearing rumours of possible changes and likely candidates but not sure if those I’ve heard would fit the bill - time will inevitably tell but I’ll be cheering them on come what may
  9. DWaller

    Eastbourne 2019

And hoping young Tom's recovery is both swift and complete
  10. DWaller

    Eastbourne 2019

Lets hope that everyone keeps sight of the prize and sticks with Eagles
  11. DWaller

    Mildenhall v Kent

Very good win for the Kings - needless to say the team to beat but the Fen Tigers can still be a force - still reckon that Leicester cubs will be in the mix when the prizes are handed out
  12. I think Connor Coles would be a good shout at reserve for the Tigers given his performance both on friday and at Arlington Saturday
  13. Clearly we had high hopes of bagging a Play Off place in our first season back in the Championship but it's becoming ever apparent what a tough league this is. Let's not let a couple of early set backs undo all the hard work that's been put in and lets not allow the early season positivity to ebb away - far too much effort has been put in for that. Historically Eastbourne have displayed a winning mindset and we have a fantastic management structure striving to move us forward. Still a lot to look foward to in the coming weeks and lest we forget the two matches that got away (that could have been wins were it not for a stroke of misfortune) have both been close fought and wholly entertaining - I think that the quality of meetings and the pedigree of riders that we will now see on a weekly basis highlight that the Championship is the place to be. Give me close meetings (with maybe the odd narrow defeat if it has to be a deal breaker) over big win borefests any day of the week.
