    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2020

    Better than no speedway.
  2. If it is for Premiership riders, would be a problem. Most individuals have 16 riders, so 3 meetings would need 48 riders. Premiership has 6 teams with 7 riders, so would be 6 riders short, even if no riders injures. Noticed some amendments to the original fixture list, and not just matches prior to 17th May. Still no inclusion of dates for individuals. Starting to look more like it is cancelled.

    Sheffield 2020

If anyone has noted the Tigers fixtures in their diaries, from the original fixture list, please re-check the fixtures as there have been some changes. I do wish the management would put an announcement notice on their website/facebook pages when they do this. If fans have made any arrangements, they can start thinking about alternatives. Would also be nice if an explanation for the changes was given. I understand the need for any fixtures prior to 17th May, but not the others.

As well as the team, I would like to know what time the two Sunday matches are starting, and admission details. Hope we do not need to print our own tickets, as by not having a printer, would stop me from going.

    Or over the wall.
  6. Just had a quick look at fixtures. As far as see, there are 9 blank dates, either Monday or Thursday, between season starting and Play offs commencing. Taking in to account some fixtures, which were scheduled before 17th May, have yet to be re-arranged, one off the free dates is the Thursday before the GB GP, and the possibility of rain offs, does leave some questions, about if it is going ahead, and indeed, at what level of rider it is aimed at.
  7. Slightly off topic, but was wondering who has held a track record for the longest (assuming the clock stops in the event of a track closure). I know Ricky Ashworth, has held the Sheffield track record for over 10 years.

    Eurosport 2020

Anyone heard anything about when Eurosport will announce which matches it will show? I am also wondering if fixtures will get changed to suit their schedule. Previously Monday was the favoured day, but that was to suit Sky/BT schedules. Will they be showing the play off semis as double headers, as in previous years? Information, or inspired guesses will be appreciated. Thanks

So, assuming we do not get Woffy, who do you think we will get for the last 4. Probably Bates at number 7. Not too many options for a good 3rd heat leader. Only about 13 and a half points for 3 riders.

    BSPL AGM

Forgive my technical ignorance, but what is the advantage of using an app, as opposed to just accessing a website?

So, who are the rumours about?
  12. Well now there has been an approved vaccine developed in the UK, I wonder if the Poles will change their attitude towards sharing.

Speedway On Tv And The Internet In 2021

Anyone know what speedway Premier Sports will cover in 2021? Just had an offer of 33% discount for the year.

    Eurosport 2020

Hi just been told by a BT staff member that, sometime in the future, Eurosport will no longer be available as part of BT or Sky packages (not sure about Virgin Media}. Is there anyone who can confirm, or deny this, or give any more information on this. I am wondering if it will be available independently in the same way as Premier sports. Any info appreciated. Thanks

BT showing some of last year's GP's later this week.

If they didn't and got found out could cost them a fortune in lost customers. If you want to be certain, the money goes to the correct cause, just request a refund and give the money personally.

Just seen on BT sport website, that you can claim one month's credit back, or ask them to donate the same amount to NHS charity.

    scam callers

Likely they will step up their efforts, as they often, try to use the fear factor. I have my own way of dealing with them, as follows: Upon realising a call is a scam, I remain calm, and pretend to be in need, of, and grateful for their help. I then say I need a few seconds, to do something, quick, but urgent (turn the bath taps off, turn chip pan off). I then put, phone down, do not end call, and waste their time, while they are waiting for me to return (which I will not do). I once got some scammer calling me back, about 4 times, thinking he had conned me, before he realised, I was conning him.
  20. Been trying to think of a few ideas which could help British Speedway, in view of problems it had before and after the current Corona situation. Here is what I thought of. Getting to matches. Not all fans have access to vehicles. How about a new section in the forum, of lifts to matches. A new topic could be started about any match, and a poster could request,or offer, a lift from "area where they live" to relevant track. Poster to be PM by any interested party. Rider sponsors. To assist riders getting sponsors, or persuading them to part with a few extra £££'s, start the pre match presentation a few minutes earlier, and announce each rider's main sponsor and their business. Next season. If the two top leagues merge, how about a series, of say 5 matches, between, Team GB North, and Team GB South. All British riders, contracted to the teams, which are in the Northern half of the League being eligible, for selection for Team GB North, same for South. Decent standard of match, and appeal to the North, South rivalry. If merger does not happen, how about the cup competition, being open, between the two leagues, with the lower league team, being allowed, say, 5 tactical rides (each leg), any rider, any race. Play Offs. Unpopular, with some, who feel top of league are champions, popular with those, who like end of season drama. As a way of rewarding the higher placed team, why not add the amount of league points, the higher team scored, over and and above their opponents, to their aggregate score.Would make it harder for team to be champions, by peaking at right time. Meet and Greet. Offer, this sort of experience for those interested, and prepared to pay a little extra for it. Alternatively, offer chance to watch a few races from centre green, for a small charge. Like to hear other opinions on this, or any other ideas out there.

    Premiership Junior League

Plenty of time, but not much point.

    Sky and Bt sports

I think Sky and BT need to think carefully about how they treat their customers. Some may be contracted to pay for their services for up to a year from now. Whether customers choose to pay for services after that date is up to them.
  23. Do the programme receipts/profits go to the fund?

    Team GB

After the recent GB test match v Denmark, with somewhat weakened teams, I wondered about the selection of Team GB for a test match. What would your selection be for a full strength seven man team? Assume all riders available and on reasonable form. No particular track in mind, so no horses for courses, and no tactical switches such as putting best rider at number 7. I will make my selection. 1 Woffy 2 King 3 Cook 4 Wright 5 Lambert 6 Ellis 7 Bewley.
