  1. Only just caught up with this sad news, I know that my memory is rubbish these days, but I remember having a natter with him in the pits at Brandon when he was  a stalwart with Oxford. A helpful bloke.  RIP Eric

  2. Here we go again   :)  It's good to have Motogp back again with qualifying in Qatar today. Yesterdays practice was a bit mixed with rain causing an unexpected start to the season,  the dry sessions provided the first chance to see if there will be much change in the hierarchy. They all seemed to do well but until the actual races  it will be difficult to really have an objective view on it. Acosta went very well and looks set to continue his rise to the top, of last years risers and surprises Diggia went well in the top 6 for most of the sessions. Will 93 be at it again and riding into people again this year, who knows,  I hope not.

Motogp qualifying this morning then the sprint race this afternoon.

As you can tell I'm looking forward to it  !!

  3. Very very sad and shocking news to wake up to this morning. A very underrated talent and always portrayed as Ron's sidekick you might say, but what a brilliant pairing they made on track. he was a key member of the team in the '60s A pleasure to watch racing and progress constantly, and what a season when he qualified for the World Final. a decent guy all round, he gave me some good advice when I had similar shoulder problems in 67, thanks Rick.

RIP Rick  my thoughts are with Rick's family and friends, a truly sad day for the Bees.

Here is a reason why your suggestion should not be considered Just watch the emotion from Jeff Davies in his interview & then  consider the support from thousands of people from all around the UK & Europe for retaining the stadium. Also consider the huge support from the local residents of the area around the stadium who voted heavily for it to remain when a survey was carried out. Indeed when the fund raising appeal to help with the cos tof the SCS group obtain a legal representative for the inquiry was opened there was  a large contributution made by the residents of the properties immediately next to the stadium. That is an indication of the level of support this fight has.

Developers always use the same tactics when they aquire land without planning & usually the councils roll over , in this case they haven't & I say well done to them for fighting this out.

Thanks Dave for posting that video, Jeff deserves some serious award for his dedication along with many others in the fight for Brandon. It’s heartwarming  to see the little men win the battle with a Goliath..

On a personal note , my back straight  spot sounds like it’s still. In decent  nick.

  5. Well that's a brilliant surprise and hopefully a step in the right direction towards a better future.for the village. That stadium was my home for twelve  years from the age of eleven, so it always had a special place in my life.

I mustn't get too euphoric as we've got to find a real way forward for everybody on our side of the fence.  Mega thanks and congratulations to all those that have worked so hard to achieve this result. The City and Rugby both need a good stadium site, with luck it can still be Brandon.

Managed to see the Moto3 race. After last weeks terrible show to stop Sausalito winning he got revenge this week with a win, but still he lost the chance to be world champion in his last season in Moto3.

Will have to catch up tonight (Monday) to see highlights of Moto2 and MotoGP.

It was an eventful day Ove. I won't say any more at the moment, in case you don't know the result !!

  7. It's the final day of the season for Motogp. The sprint race was the usual scrappy affair before it settled down and Martin dramatically cut Bagnia's lead to seven points, by winning the sprint with Bangnia fifth holding off Diggi. Strange practice sessions yesterday with Martin harassing Bagnia. Hope it will be a fair race tomorrow without penalties.

  8. Fabulous win for Diggi and thoroughly deserved , he's been the fastest man throughout the weekend. Considering Ciabatti's comments  after the race, that he is amazed that Fabio hasn't been given a motogp place for next year, well with all Ciabatti's power in Ducati it's a bit disappointing that he hasn't used his influence to get him a ride. Pramac must be kicking themselves for the opportunity that they lost yesterday with Martin going backwards  and leaving a 21 point gap to Bagnia.

Excellent  moto3 race as usual, but I wasn't impressed with the way some Honda riders ganged up on Sasaki to keep him  wide and well behind Massia so that he lost his chance of challenging for the Championship. I think Sasaki has been the most consistent in moto3 by a long way and deserved to win.

  9. And on to Qatar today, and  an interesting qualifying day and another sprint race which saw Martin close the gap to 7 points on Bagnia.. It wasn't easy for Martin as he had to force his way past Bagnia twice during the race and the slow  starting Digi who dropped from second on the grid to sevenrh and then worked his way back up to second and push Martin to the finish.

Sad to see Aleix Espargaro back to his nasty self punching Morbidellii's helmet during qualifying. He was very lucky to get away with only a six place penalty and a fine of 10K.  If it was left to him he'd be the self declared World Champion lol.

Fingers crossed it will be a cracking GP tomorrow with an unusual front row of Marini, DiGi, and Alex Marquez.

  10. There was me with plans for tomorrow early morning to be up in time to watch the MotoGP live .

Went to check latest practice times this morning and qualifying results, only to find its cancelled tomorrow and the race was actually brought forward to this morning and I’d missed it all.  What a bugger eh. Very pleased for Digi getting his first podium especially as he is being dumped by Gresini. I never realised that Zarco had never won a MotoGP race before

as far as I can make out the sprint will run on Sunday along with moto2 and Moto3 if the weather conditions are safe enough. An unresolved tech problem with Ogdens  bike means he won’t be racing in the morning..

  11. Amazing how fortunes can change in racing. In the big boys class first three across the line within 0.4 seconds, but a very strange race, and moto3 dished up the usual fest of close racing.

Feel a bit gutted few Di G, another strong race today yet he gets dumped for crasher and bike wrecker Marquez (23 crashes so far this season). I think if old  man Gressini were still here he probably wouldn't have let him go.  But it's a tough world in Motogp.

  12. Only managed to see the talent cup race in Mandalika today and it was a real scrap between two riders who broke well away from the group and who are both joining Moto3 next season, passing and repassing continuously even deliberately taking each other wide on turns to try and make a break but they were glued together right to the end.

Martin is now leading the championship, poor day for Bagnia, qualified P13 and finished P8 in sprint race. So that should all make for an interesting race tomorrow, with Marini on pole alongside Vinales and Espargaro.  Moto2 Q ended with seventeen riders within 0.8 sec behind Canet, Gonzalez and Salac, with Pedro 4th.

    Nothing to do with me.

That's what the Polish Speedway news site is stating when using a concrete choice of words (Staying, Departures, Arrivals)

Sure clubs will add more juniors to their squads but those were the names that I read earlier on the site.

It might be better if you quoted a link when you post information so that we know if its fact, or just your fantasies.
