Should be a good meeting - Both teams look strong, not sure if Birmingham actually having grobauer instead of R/R makes them stronger or more likely weaker? Edinburgh could win this as their ‘rising star’ Edwards is fresh full of confidence from his 18 point max at West Row on Sunday and Josh Pickering is also in form at Sheffield

Rather confused with this decision - not disputing that Lawson is a better more experienced rider then Edwards but Plymouth have no chance of making the plays off considering they are racing away to 3 of the top clubs where even with Lawson they have no chance of winning. Home win to Newcastle was nailed on whatever the team. yet this decision is going to cost (assuming Lawson is on £1.5k a meeting) around about £6k more than having Edwards for these meetings yet will put very little in terms of numbers on the gate for a single home match? After Eastbourne this seems poor financial management which is ironic given the main team sponsor! Maybe this is linked to next year being that the novelty of Crump will have warn off and Pederson retiring?

For 2021, National league riders have now been asked to supply and pay for their own rear tyres which are £42 each per meeting, whereas, last year they were commonly supplied by the club. Simultaneously, i've heard price money rates have been slashed in half to £10 a point for a reserve. Additionally all tyres are only to be ANLAS, even in the amateur ‘national league’, despite there being stockpiles of MITAS tyres already in the country not used from 2020, many in the hands of small privately owned and operated spares vans who now do not have a market for them. Presumably, BSPL Ltd. receive a healthy incentive from the monopoly of ANLAS tyres in the British leagues (as I have heard the MITAS deal was generous). These new rules will hit the young riders who are trying to make a start in the sport in revised Conference League, by prize money going directly to pay for tyres. Following Rob Godfrey's article in the Speedway Star, if he is truly ‘subsidising’ the national league and wants more upcoming riders, surely he should allow other tyre brands or only used tyres (like in the youth rounds used to) so the National League riders do not lose a fortune racing NL speedway?

Best news ever! Great to have him back at Arlington. They will have to put a bit more shale on to hold him up. I take it when Drew is on international duty (like the European U19s), they can use Jake in the Championship team also as a guest as a replacement?

Yeah option 2 would win the league (although I think Chad has retired from speedway to concentrate on grass track). For the sanity of the new national league, and to give others a chance, let’s hope that’s not the team!

Great start to team building with two reliable heat leaders who can both improve, especially Ruddick, but, I don’t personally see either of them as the No.1. Great to see Mildenhall staying positive despite the points limit reduction and they deserve a lot of credit for this. Fair play also as they must have given Kinsley a good period of notice that he was being released in order for Kent to be able to change and build their team around him as a 8.00 rider.

More positivity and forward thinking from Eastbourne - can the management take over the BSPA, as they actually seem to know what they are doing!

Kent Royals page in forum states that Kinsley has in fact made the switch to Kent... so the above skipping a league in between rule obviously doesn’t apply

Unfortunately makes sense as he had the highest average in the team, and with the points limit being reduced was always going to be difficult to accommodate everyone. Also, I was under the impression you were unable to skip a league? IE you can’t do national and elite, must do the national and championship or championship and Elite? But will the amount of times the rules have changed probably changed again!

National league speedway at Eastbourne could be another forward thinking idea in the long term and create a production line of riders if they can get the mini academy track back up and running in the car park. They could then fill the bottom reserve slots with those from the academy. in terms of the 2021 NL team, who would people like to see? Personally I would like to see Jake knight back as watching him round Arlington I’m sure defies the laws of physics! Could also see Nathan Abblit because he is an Eastbourne Asset now plus members of the 2020 Plymouth NL team like Andrews, Atkins or Davies as they won’t have a NL slot now? Can’t see either Brennan or Edwards riding in the NL next year if the points limit is stupidly being reduced, and even if they are, they probably could do with riding bigger continental tracks?
