    Are you a politician ?.

    Brandon Update

I'm not well up on what BSN covers but if 45% goes to Championship teams and 55% to the operators does the Premiership not take anything from BSN ?.

    Brandon Update

Distribution of TV Monies, Crowd levels, Investment in Grass roots just a few items that have never been addressed nor made public by Speedway authorities, and this will go against this appeal, which I can see the inspector allowing.

    New Club for 2024?

If it's a new Stadium as opposed to new Team then I think The Alexander Stadium could stage a GP on a temporary surface, I have heard Mr Morris has been up around Birmingham a few times lately, of course that may be linked to the SCS efforts, no noise with regards Cradley any return is as far away as it's ever been, Speedway in the West Midlands is hanging by a thread for 2024.

Yeah, he has driven Stocks and the company that he part owns (Family) is very profitable ie pretty significant profits.

    Brandon Update

I would like for the Barrister of the Save Coventry Speedway to actually ask the question as to who "Brandon Estates" actually are ie who are the directors could well give us some idea who has been behind the proposal to develop Brandon rather than just hide behind a company name, especially one that's registered abroad.

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

That may actually be a very good idea, could be one of the few occasions the break even figure is reached.

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

Especially this one, apparently a Mr PJ Kelly is a director of Corbally Group (Perry Barr) and several others which at one time or another totalled 96 directorships https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/XFQxt_lQsAnD5bcctGx62nSRddE/appointments so maybe he is a person who could give the Brummies some hope in the near future, on the other hand most of his appointments appear to be in the property development area of which he has fingers in many pies, some of which are Irish which brings us back to NAMA and tangled webs etc etc.

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

I was going to make this a short reply, Developers want to develop the land so by paying for a speedway track to be put in on land provided for by the Council is a minimal outlay for developers as an example see (Burton RFC) and no financial outlay by the Council, There is no doubts that the council has the land it's the suitability to stage Speedway that is the major issue, I suggest you go and have a chat with Nigel T and see what he wants for the Brummies.

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

Ladbrokes/Entain own Monmore, ARC (a different group) lease Perry Barr it's ARC that have applied for a new Greyhound track at there own Horse racing Track in Wolvo, Monmore Greyhounds will be continuing at Monmore indeed it is according to the spokesman the injuries caused by Shale on the Greyhound track that the Speedway has been given notice at Monmore, even if the Greyhounds move from Perry Barr to Wolvo the Speedway could still continue at Perry Barr, in actual fact it could be to the Brummies benefit if they continue at PB because if PP is applied for to develop PB the council who own PB may feel duty bound to provide the Brummies with an alternative venue.

    Poole v Birmingham 30/8/23 Championship

Surely any half decent HL as a guest will be enough for you to beat the Brummies.

Clubs that own their own tracks

Are we talking Stadium or Track, was not the Stadium built for the Commonwealth games and is therefore a legacy from those ?, the Speedway Track was added later to give us what we have today.

    Workington 2023

He seemed to stop posting roughly at the time of Workingtons first meeting at the new track, never posted about the first meeting and not posted since, I can only assume that he has had a falling out with someone close to Workington speedway, also noticable that no one that goes to Comet's speedway has commented on why, what, where or when, so can only presume it's being kept in house so to speak, THJ has been missed for sure by me if no-one else .

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

Yes its time Nielsen was shown the door even a 2 pointer would be better than what he is producing at the moment, as for a Morris replacement your guests so far have been your top points scorer in most of your meetings, which is an improvement on what Nick was scoring.
  16. I have been told this by someone on the inside ie no-one going round chatting to riders or very little chat between riders, I noticed tonight Picko giving advice to other riders due out in Ht 2 and doing it again later in the meeting, I feel so sorry for the Brum fans, the support staff, NT and LR who put so much in to keeping the Brummies on Track, they deserve much more than what they are seeing this season, I will add that the Perry Barr track is something of a gaters track yes I have seen some overtaking but it is usually the odd pass during a meeting, some might say the Birmingham track is to fair, I might say in reply it is gate & go, plus the home team seem to think it varies from one week to the next which cannot help with set ups.

I am expecting a Brummie win tonight, but there won't be much in it.

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

I am told from a very reliable source, or should I say from someone that should know what went on, Nick apparently could not pee to take the second test, and yes the first test allegedly showed positive.

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

I think father time and numerous injuries have caught up with Starkey who along with Nielsen should be giving serious thought to hanging up their leathers so to speak.

    Kent Kings (Help)

The BSPL has a saying for the smaller amateur like teams, and it is "Do as we say not do as we do" but you only have to look at the state the the Sport has got itself into after being led by the BSPL, BSPL Speedway has got itself into a position where it is no longer viable in it's present form yet the BSPL continue to resist change in the areas where it is most needed, the promoters at Kent have gone above and beyond what is needed to keep the Sport alive in the South East yet the BSPL seem to have offered no help in there hour of need, in fact earlier on in the year they seem to have done the exact opposite and allegedly gave them a suspended fine if I remember correctly, the BSPL is in fact not fit for purpose.
  21. I think this deserves it's own Topic; Club Statement about the GoFundMe. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-royals-survive I would like to ease your minds about the GoFundMe that was started this week. The history behind the request is this. I am the main sponsor of the club. Last august, as some of you may remember, I had to have heart surgery because of a disease called Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy. At the time, I also owned Iwade Garage, who you will recall as being the teams title sponsors in 2021 and 2022. Due to staffing problems, and then combined with my cardiac issue, it was necessary to give back the lease on the garage as the time being spent in the workshop drew me away from my actual job - Consulting Chief Security Officer. In December my mum Ros, who many of you will have seen on the gate with her dog Grace, went into hospital, where she had open heart surgery. After complications she finally came home in June, but the visiting and staying on top of the medics who didn't listen, it meant I was further diverted from my day job. We came into the 2023 season without a named title sponsor - because this year its fallen to me personally. Normally, a home match sets you up financially for the away leg, but we have two away trips coming up, and the abandonment of the Oxford match at home, and the subsequent home match taking a lesser gate as fans used their re-entry, means that the clubs bank account was severely depleted. The need to purchase the tyres for the remainder of the season added to the financial woes. My priority is always to ensure that our riders are paid promptly - for without them, we do not have a club. As I haven't been working as much in the last 8 months, then my reserves were also depleted. Although I am back consulting, it takes time for clients to settle their invoices. The support that those who have contributed to the GoFundMe has given the club is heartfelt, and I thank each and everyone of you for that support. I am also greatful to every paying fan who comes to our home matches, and I ask you to get behind the club and come along to as many meetings as you can, and give the riders the support to urge them on to win. We have six matches left, and the fight isnt over for the Royals. However, I need to do what my cardiac consultant tells me, I need to ease up a bit, I will need at some point in the future more surgery, hence my words in the programme recently. Its not just me that puts hours into running things, my whole family helps. Many of you know my mum from the main gate, who as I said has been very ill recently and still has a long road to full health, Andrea who helps on the gate and helps massively behind the scenes too, and my son Drew from the sweet stall. Drew is planning to head off to University in September, and Andrea has another operation coming up at the end of this month. I have kept The Royals going for two years post Uncle Len but we are unable to commit as much time going forward. Therefore if anyone is interested in coming on board then please do speak to me. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-royals-survive

    Kent Vs Workington 6/8/23 12:00

Is there a link to the Go Fund me page ?, found it https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-royals-survive
  23. It will need much more than 1 guest for the Brummies to get something out of this, but tell me do you like to see decent opposition or prefer to see weak opponents ?, our old saying was happiness is 40-38, usually not much fun watching 60-30 week in week out.

    UK Speedway in Turmoil?

I can assure you that there are continuing efforts to bring Cradley Heathens back, however we more often than not bump into the wall of ignore when approaching landowners to lease land for Speedway, more recently we seem to have received the same response (or lack of it) from Dudley Councillors when contacting them about relocation, I personally am of the opinion that we should now be setting up a PR campaign actually criticising the Council for it's lack of help in identifying a suitable site and telling us why such and such a site is not suitable, they the Council have NEVER said no that site is suitable but if you could do this maybe it could be considered, it's obvious after 28 years or so without a Track there is no ideal site in Dudley which is not helped by the Councils attitude.

    Wolves 2023

I'm pretty sure Dave Parry (Parry's Coaches) has contacts around the Cheslyn Hay area whether or not that would be to far for Wolverhampton fans I have no idea but it would'nt surprise me if some land was found around that area.
