Belle Vue -V- Sheffield POSF 2nd leg

Question for you Belle Vue regulars - I'm assuming tickets will be available on the gate rather than having to book online?

    Sheffield 2020

Yeah he also said the same thing in the match program. I think Batch has burned his bridges with the Sheffield fans. If he goes the rest of the season unbeaten he'll still never be accepted at owlerton (by me at least). Tigers fans appreciate effort and commitment even if a rider doesn't score the points his efforts deserve. The way that Batch has let down the fans and the promoters is a disgrace. I find it sad that some riders e.g. Cookie are booed wherever they go despite clearly giving 100% effort and we then get some people who I suspect haven't watched Batch's performances on and off the bike this year telling the fans to lay off him. The only reason he wasn't sacked is because there's such a shortage of "heat leader" quality riders at the moment and he clearly felt unsackable hence his lack of effort.

    Tigers V Wolves 12/8/21

It certainly looked like he was intentionally finishing last. I wonder if it's his way of responding to the increasing boos he is receiving at Owlerton. In all my years following speedway I don't recall a rider intentionally scoring no points at their home track. There's been one or two who wouldn't make any effort on away tracks that they didn't like and even those who just didn't turn up if they didn't fancy racing against the opposition (Michael Lee for example) but this situation is simply disgraceful and needs to change immediately He isn't just letting the Sheffield supporters down he's causing problems for his team mates and that cannot be allowed to continue. So many Sheffield fans walked out before the end last night that heat 15's victory lap was to an almost empty stadium Has there ever been a rider fined by the referee for not trying? I've can't find any reports of one? Could Troy be the first?

So this 6 month ban for Nicky P, is that just in Poland or worldwide? I reckon he would have taken some catching in the UK this season.......

    Eurosport

To be honest I've really enjoyed the Eurosport coverage this year. Speedway will never be exactly "TV friendly" with all the delays and a rulebook no one understands but it;s been great entertainment, Having a correspondent at the other meetings to give updates has also been a positive for me.
  6. At the first meeting of the year a number of us watched from the first bend, in front of the new building (where is basically where we used to stand) This was great because it's not only a great viewing spot but it also allowed for plenty of social distancing. Unfortunately for the second meeting the area was barriered off. (and was barriered off the third meeting also) I did email the speedway office to find out why but was told it was a decision from the stadium owners in conjunction with the local council. I have emailed the stadium owners on enquiries@owlertonstadium.co.uk but sadly never received a response. Does anyone on here have a contact with the stadium owners that might be able to help?? If anyone else wants to contact them also then that's great but please be careful how you word your email - I don't want this to come across as just Speedway fans moaning again! I know that in an ideal world we'd have the whole stadium opened up again but I'm not asking for the world here, I just can't see any reason why standing on the first turn was ok for the first meeting but not now. Once the restrictions are over at the end of the month and more fans are allowed into Owlerton then surely the more viewing areas the better ?
