    Bellle Vue Colts 2023

I am not disappointed with the line up this year although some will be. The matches will be tighter and we may not win them all but at this level I think entertainment and watching riders develop is what it is about. Last year was a disappointment. The team was really strong but didn't deliver; it may be that this year's riders will be a bit more committed. We should have three decent heat leaders, if the final rider is who everyone assumes it will be. I can see Sam Hagon scoring big at the NSS, he looks a good prospect and wanting to get more experience on the bigger tracks. Personally looking forward to Paul Bowen's efforts, always a trier. Hodder should kick on this year and another one who will be worth watching. Really looking forward to the Colts this year.
  2. One pair of promoters who have been lost in the mist of time were Cy Melville and Rodney Rycroft. Took over at Oxford for the 1964 season from Dicky Worth and they proceeded to win everything. As an Oxford super fan from 1960-61 it was fantastic. Bringing in Ron How and Jimmy Gooch transformed the team. It was a great season but they only lasted for that one year after which they went bust, or at least one of them did! It was a brilliant year though. In 1965 Danny Dunton took over.
