Poole V Belle Vue Bt Sports 26/6/17

Fricke never seems to be that hot at Wimborne Road, Kenny i would expect to reproduce that form. With the contributions from reserve and my doubts about Tungate cant see us getting a win tomorrow.

Well we were an EF away last time, agree with you this time though

    Horsens June 24th 2017

I was in Gothenberg in 1977 when Peter Collins finished second with a badly broken leg that contained 300 stitches after clipping a grid cover at Hyde Road very close to the world final, he could have actually won it only for a rerun in atrocious weather. Not only was he on crutches but had to be lifted on and off his bike, so not really amazing how Doyle was able to race really.

    Belle Vue -v- Rye House

This should be an easy home win but ive said that before
  5. What I don't understand is why Chapman as a businessman appears to be purposely running his business into the ground by not providing for the paying customer, it really does not make one iota of sense.
  6. Another good away win for the Aces, but sad that Kings Lynn has fallen so far in terms of entertainment, it was one of the very best tracks that produced excellent racing on a consistent basis. As for Chapman being hailed as some sort of saviour for the sport on taking over the chair at the BSPA, well, he cant even sort his own club out let alone the mess that is British speedway. I really hope the Stars get back on track.
  7. A deserved win for Cookie and some good racing, Ben Barker provided some excellent entertainment with his blasts round the outside, hope BT are impressed with the sport enough this season to extend their deal into the future.
  8. No Cook No Fricke = No Me Im sick to the back teeth of missing riders this season, Will a couple of good crowds at the end of the season for 4 clubs really offset the very poor attendances we are now seeing throughout the regular season?

There were quite a few around me when I came down in April

Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirates 9/6/17

This match epitomises everything that is wrong with the sport today. Speedway really is in the last chance saloon, personally I hope this rain continues.

Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirates 9/6/17

Any team can come up here and do well despite their recent form as all riders love the place. Our form has been patchy of late being fortunate to edge past Leicester, losing to Somerset, and being pushed all the way by Swindon. The performances against those three I don't think would be enough Friday, if all this weather clears up that is.
  12. I thought the fen tigers would have given us a test tonight but they were totally taken to the cleaners. Dan Lee Jack and Kyle were superb Rob rode well and Andy chipped in well. Young Woodhull also looked assured. Not even a heat winner for the tigers.

    Somerset 2017

When I travel away nowadays and especially on bank holidays I travel overnight and make a day of it. When we are at Somerset im camping for two days, similar with Swindon spent the day in Poole etc. You do have to gamble with the weather but ive been lucky on that front. I remember when many clubs rode on a Saturday which meant away sides always had a good turn out, clubs like Swindon, Coventry, Cradley, Eastbourne, Kings Lynn spring to mind, the GP,s put paid to that. Midweek meetings are not easy unless you want to use all your holiday allowance taking a chance on the good old British summertime weather.

Every time ive been to the OTA the racing has been excellent, looking forward to august.

Stoke V Belle View Apr 22nd

Racing was very strung out though, not a patch on what it used to be, with stocks taking priority thats only to be expected.

Think a lot depends if Shuttleworth rides, isnt he down to ride for Workington?

    Belle Vue V Leicester 21/4/17 7.30pm

You could say we got out of jail tonight as i thought Leicester could have gone on to win this, they put in a very good performance and were well deserving of their point. When the pressure was on the Aces came to the party, there is a good team ethic going on with this side which seems to underline Mark Lemon sides, he has restored that winning mentality after years of defeatest attitude at KL. This is what Belle Vue used to be about, its said the mark of any good side is winning when below par which we certainly were early doors good result and again well done Leicester.

    Belle Vue V Leicester 21/4/17 7.30pm

Last season was predicted as an easy home win but the Lions were so close to winning, should be comfy for the Aces but last season against struggling sides lions and Kings Lynn has shown anything can happen.
  19. With comments that we have been getting especially from Stars fans Buster really needs to act to provide the sort of entertainment Lynn used to be well known for. Its crazy for any businessman not to provide what his paying customers want.
  20. Similar to Sheffield where ive seen nothing but follow the leader when ive gone over there, along with Kings Lynn it used to be a fantasic race track producing great racing on a regular basis, the tracks are pretty much as they were strange how both now seem to struggle to put on good meetings.
  21. Great team performance from the lads, once Max got going we were always going to be be a side to be reckoned with, hope he keeps it up. Mark Lemon has put together another side where anyone can pop out and win a race, Yogi had a bit of an off night for him but Stevie and Sedgeman then stepped up. Early days but positive signs.

    Wolves V Belle Vue 18/4/17

Agree with you on that, going from Hyde Road to Kirky Lane we know better than most what losing a great track and having to put up with a poor replacement is all about. I think the difference between the dog track and the new track has reignited peoples passion for real racing but it dosent make every other track all of a sudden not fit for purpose. When Hyde Road was in its pomp I never remember any comparisons with other tracks around the country slating the standard of racing.

    Wolves V Belle Vue 18/4/17

I would take a point at Monmore anytime so not overly disappointed as the Wolves top four are a match for anyone round their home track. If they can sort out Skornicki and the reserve positions I would still expect them to be up there come the end of the season shootout. Team building for the new season is a bit of a joke nowadays as teams build with one eye on the first set of averages in order to then strengthen up, at one time clubs built to a strength for the season without the need for all the swapping and changing. Suppose that's the name of the game nowadays though.

    Swindon Stadium

Maybe a move further away from encroaching housing might be the best bet if there is land available. We certainly dont want Swindon to go the same way as Reading with the false promises. With recent talk about the possibility of Oxford re-emerging does anyone think there is a possibility of the licence being moved there?
  25. What a fantastic meeting that was, race after race producing close racing and passing and re-passing, it goes to show you dont need a GP class of rider to produce stunning speedway, if this had been a GP it would have been lauded from on high. Say what you want about David Gordon and Chris Morton but there is no denying they have left us with a world class track. I think the Aces will suffer in so much as away teams are going to relish coming to Manchester now unlike when we were at the Greyhound track. If we suffer a few defeats due to the track being so fair then so be it. We all want our teams to be succsessful but with this facility and quality of racing we are already winners. Any newbies there last night would be chomping at the bit to get to the next meeting. This is a great oppertunity for the new owners with their business acumen to make a great success of the venue and to take the club onto the next level.
