  1. Any news on the track with all the rain we have had ? What are the rules are rain offs ? e.g do they have to get to 16 heats or just toss a coin!
  2. Probably mentioned elsewhere but with the leave Europe Coventry some we sway could well be around for a good few years yet. Housing development will be risky to take on a project at Brandon for the next few years. ??

    Centre Green Rule

    A rider last monday was excluded at Scunthorpe for cutting across centre green to go to tapes. Seems a very sensible rule to me but Mr godferrt wasn't to happy.

    Scb isn't banned! He was given a warning and due to few other previously given warnings it resulted in a suspension.

    The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock

    Removed NP from topic title . If you had created two topics then it might have helped, this was always going to end up discussing the full incident and not just Greg.

  14. he first-ever pitch covering has been installed on top of Welsh rugby's hallowed turf which this season staged victories over South Africa and Ireland ahead of Rugby World Cup 2015 which brings eight matches to Cardiff. The top-of-the-range Terraplas system, made up of 8678 tiles and measuring 10500 square metres, will provide a protective cover for the hybrid pitch and enhance the stadium's flexibility as a multi-event venue. The world's biggest pop band One Direction will be the first to put the new flooring to the test when they bring their impressive stage rig and over 100,000 dancing fans to Cardiff across two concerts on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 June. The Terratrak Plus ® is a high-density polyethylene surface which functions as a temporary drivable roadway for heavy duty vehicles and cranes. It will take a static load of 758.8 tonnes per square metre, the equivalent to an armoured fighting vehicle. While still protecting the synthetic and natural grass below, the translucent natural material allows the passage of light for photosynthesis to continue when the grass is covered for up to four days. When the covering is left for a longer period, new grass will be sown to restore perfect pitch conditions at the home of Welsh rugby. The dramatic transformation from world-class rugby venue into Europe's largest indoor arena was made in just over 24 working hours. The new system replaces the old palletised pitch which previously took up to a week to remove. Stadium Manager Mark Williams has hailed the arrival of the modern system during an exciting year at the stadium. He said: "This is a brand new era for Millennium Stadium events as we welcome the very-latest in stadium flooring solutions to revolutionise the transition between what we term 'pitch' and 'non-pitch' activity at the venue. "The new system opens up the opportunity to deliver non-pitch events at any time of the year while also preserving the conditions of the pitch below and ensures that the Millennium Stadium can continue to attract a diverse range of events to Wales. "For the stadium groundstaff, the operational and logistical benefits are tremendous as we no longer need to remove and install over 7,000 turf pallets during a summer season. "Next month One Direction will bring an impressive stage rig and thousands of dancing fans to test out the stadium's new floor followed by the British Championship Speedway Grand Prix which will look very different again! "Fast forward another few weeks and the stadium will look like a world-class rugby stadium once more as Wales prepare for Rugby World Cup 2015 with the Dove Men Tests at home against Ireland and Italy. "2015 is going to be a memorable year. I'm confident that our pitch system and Terraplas covering has given us a robust and sustainable platform so we can continue to concentrate on delivering the very best experience whatever the event." The installation is the final phase of a £3.1 million project which was launched at the start of the season to reveal a hybrid pitch, which intertwines millions of artificial fibres with grass turf, and state-of-the-art 'plug and play' facilities for media. The major investment was fully supported and part-funded by the Welsh Government in readiness for Rugby World Cup 2015, which includes two of Wales' pool matches and two quarter finals in Cardiff http://www.terraplas.com/Products/Terraplas
  15. Hi, On Tue 09/06/2015 at approx 9am the domain name hosting provider suffered a DDoS attack which resulted in the forum being inaccessible to many people. As the company has been experiencing a number of issue over the last month I decided to switch providers which in turn then results in downtime while the switch was made at Nominet. Users might experience further downtime over the coming days as the changes are propagated around the world. www.theregister.co.uk/2015/06/09/freeparking_hit_by_ddos_attack/ Phil.

  23. Poll requested by Skid Sprocket It is often said that crowds are dwindling at speedway meetings and that it is only the older generation that support the sport. This anonymous poll is an attempt to find out the facts from each forum member who does attend by age, gender etc. Did you attend at least 2 meetings during the 2014 season either home or away for any speedway team and are;
  24. From facebook..... IT'S HERE ...Ricky's Big Day. The weather's good, the sun is going to shine, and everything's in place for one of the most special days there has ever been in speedway. If you're coming - and we hope you are - then the road network is looking good. There are the usual delays on the M1 because of the 50mph zone (be careful with the speed cameras) and there are also restrictions on the A1 at Leeming Bar. We would advise than fans who are heading to Owlerton from the north from J35 (M1) and the A629 etc use the SWFC car park across from the Hillsborough ground. It's about half a mile to Owlerton from there and you will (especially if arriving after 3pm) risk congestion and the main car park being full. It is £3 for secure parking but the car park owners, SWFC fans group Wednesdayite, have generously said that every penny raised goes to the RBD Fund. Once the main car park is full, fans will be directed there. Access is easy and there are three exits, so you'll get away pretty quickly. So come and join us, have a great day, watch some of the biggest names in speedway on one of the best tracks in the world, and do your bit for Ricky. Gates open at 3.30pm, the parade is at 5 and the action starts at 5.30pm and Ricky WILL be there. Admission is £15 for adults, £11 for O65s and £1 for 15s and under. It's ALL pay please. Just in case you're in two minds about coming, have another look at ITV's superb coverage... http://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2015-03-18/speedway-riders-to-come-together-for-brain-damaged-star/ Finally, thanks for your support. If you've fallen out with speedway, today will put you back in love with our great sport.
