Don't think you can have a Rising Star guest from another Premiership side so that would rule Edwards out of any future guest appearances unfortunately.

British GP Cardiff Saturday 2nd September

Yes, mine have been upgraded from U15 (CAT 6) to M18. When I enquired with SeeTickets they said this was due to production changes. Some friends of mine are Upper Tier on the back straight and they haven't had their tickets changed. The SeeTickets site still has CAT 6 tickets for sale in U13, U26, U29, U30,U31 & U33. Some categories don't appear to be available now. The stadium in never full, so maybe they've decided to not open it all and to concentrate the crowd in to certain areas.

Given that both Rew & Hume now have identical averages, would moving Rew to #6 and Hume to #2, with Barker going to #4, be a viable option for Monday's home match against Sheffield and for the following month. The regs say: In any declaration where 2 or more riders hold an identical MA (cannot be determined by a 3rd or more decimal point) then the re-declaration must nominate the hierarchical order. Where riders have a previous MA, then the higher placed rider from the previous issue shall retain the higher position. As Rew didn't have an MA as was assessed, then I think it allows us to move him to #6 if desired. If he did have an MA (not assessed), then he would have had to stay in the main body of the team.

Near to stadium and clouds about but plenty of breaks and sunny intervals. BBC weather wildly different from met office and Weather Bug

    Ipswich v Sheffield 20th April

Interestingly, BBC Weather says showers between 4pm and 7pm. Weatherbug has 40% chance of showers at 3pm, 10% at 4pm and then dry for the rest of the evening. Difficult to know which one to believe.

  8. Is this an original fixture or a rearranged one? I thought UK had Monday and Thursday as protected race nights, as defined by the ISLB, so other countries cannot call on riders scheduled to ride here. If that still stands and it's an original fixture, Poland should not have first call on Musielak. Happy to be corrected!

    Cardiff 2022

Has anybody any experience of using the disabled / ambulant seating areas in the stadium? Having spoken to the stadium, they have identified block U12 and block L22 as the closest blocks to where we plan to go (U15). Block L22 appears to have the ambulant seating at the back of the block, whilst block U12 appears to have the seating towards the front. At the moment, U12 is looking the more favourable, but I have a question regarding access to this area. Does this ambulant seating area have it's own access, possibly at the back of it looking at a plan, or do you have to enter / exit via the usual aisles? As a blue badge holder with limited mobility, my elderly parent would find it a struggle to have to shuffle past other people to get to the usual aisle, hence the question about access. Thanks in advance for all your help Ian

    Ipswich v Peterborough June 23rd

Heeps average is 4.96 so is too high to guest for Barker who is on 4.44 with no 5% increase for home meetings as he's a reserve and strangely that 'rule' doesn't seem to apply to reserves. With regards to Riss last night, he blew his engine in the first heat last night so could be excused a below par performance.

Thank you for that - can't believe I didn't see that. Must be an age thing.

Just out of interest, has the track always been this shape or has it ever used all of the available land inside the greyhound track?

    Ipswich v Lynn 28/4 LC

With heat 8 being a protected heat, the only way Starke could come in is for a tapes offence or failing to beat 2 minutes.

    Belle Vue 2022

It certainly does show how badly worded this rule is (and many others have been in the past). Therein lies the issue. We fans can interpret this particular rule in many ways but until someone official clarifies what it actually means, the speculation will continue. My 2 pennies worth of interpretation is that the first transfer window open after 25% of all league fixtures have been completed. As this has not yet been achieved, then there is no transfer window open so no team changes are allowed and you have to persevere with the 1 to 7 you started the season with. If riders are signed on temporary contracts, then those contracts should be valid until the transfer window opens and a replacement on a permanent contract (whatever one of those is) is signed. Incidentally, you could argue that all riders are on temporary contracts as they're only valid March to October inclusive. With regards to the 2 occasions, I read this as you can replace as many riders as you wish on 2 separate occasions during the window. In effect you could replace all of your initial 7 with a new 7 (all at the same time) and then replace that 7 with another new 7 (all at the same time) during the window. However, if the 2 occasions have been used up during the window and you have a long term injury happen, then a further replacement is allowed. As has been said, a poorly worded rule that is open to many interpretations.

I'm guessing that regulation 012.3 would prevent any immediate team changes. A Premiership Transfer Window opens after 25% of the League fixtures are complete and closes when 75% of League fixtures are complete. This permits changes to the team on 2 occasions, except for proven long term injury. Not sure if it's 25% of a teams fixtures or 25% of all league fixtures. if it's a team's fixtures, then our 5th fixture is Thursday 2nd June at home to Kings Lynn. If it's 25% of all fixtures, then it could be any time.

For me, the problem with the number 4 position is heat 14. It can often see a tactical in that heat, so your no. 4 could be up against the opposition 1 and 4 so you need someone to try to cover any ts used

That's the order I would go with. Heeps will be partnered with Doyle in 3 heats and in the protected heat 8

    Ipswich vs pboro 10/7/21

But issue 3 was superseded by issue 4 on the same day and Cook is back to 7.59 effective 31/5 and that figure remains in all future releases until issue 7. All very confusing isn't it.

    Ipswich vs pboro 10/7/21

His average is immaterial after tonight, or even before tonight depending on your point of view. It's the value of that average at the time that the team was re-declared. As I understand it, the latest time for re-declaration would be 72 hours before tonight's meeting, so some time on the 7th June. At that point, issue 6 of the green sheets was in operation, dated 3rd June, and that clearly states 7.59. The Kings Lynn side averages are effective 7th June. So if the side was re-declared on 7th June, 7.59 would be the correct average. Where the confusion seems to lie is with the set of green sheets issued on 8th June, issue 7, which then show the higher average but strangely is effective 2 days before it was issued.

    Ipswich vs pboro 10/7/21

There appears to be 2 sets of averages issued for 28/5 - issue 3 and issue 4. Issue 3 indicates that Cook's average of 7.59 will increase to 7.82 on 1/6. Issue 4, which I guess supersedes issue 3 has Lawson included in place of Cook and Cook's average back to 7.59 and no mention of any increase. His average stays at 7.59 until issue 7 on 8/6 where it increases to 7.82 with effect 6/6 - which in itself seems a bit strange issuing a set of averages 2 days after some become effective. So if you as a promoter were looking at signing a rider, say on the 4th June, you'd have the green sheet from 3rd of June as your official guide to riders averages. You sign said rider according to that average only for a few days later another set of averages appear and your rider's average has now changed. It appears to all about timing. I always thought green sheets were issued once a month - cut off 23rd of month and effective from 1st of following month. It now seems they're issued at any time and it's a mine field trying to work out why averages have changed mid issue. Now, if only someone would come on here (or anywhere really) and just say "Rider A was signed and declared in our team on day X to the averages issued on day Y, perhaps all this confusion would subside. I can but dream

Isn't that the problem with rolling averages in that we don't know historically what points have come off when the latest are added. Cook rode 1 qualifying meeting up until the 23rd May cut off and scored 11 points. If he also scored 11 points from the meeting that this replaced, the his average won't change, so stays at 7.59. What we don't know is why 2 further sets of averages were issued on the 3rd June and 8th June, with the 8th June containing the higher average. Too much smoke and mirrors I think. Having been going to speedway for nearly 50 years, nothing changes Think I'll go and a lie down in the sun

    Ipswich 2020

Here's my 50p Prior to 8th June, Cook's average was 7.59 and became 7.82 from 8th June onwards. Regulation 010.3 states: Changes must be made at least 72 hours before the start time of the meeting at which it is intended to be used. Given our next meeting is tomorrow, 10th June, that would mean a re-declare on the 7th at the latest, therefore Cook would still have his 7.59 average. Has my 50p been well spent?

It's strange as he left Kings Lynn on 7.59 according to green sheet issued 1st June and 3rd June. But on the 8th June that has gone up to 7.82. His last match for the Stars was on 27th June. 7.59 appears to be his starting average for the season. Lets's hope we haven't made a mistake somewhere.

I 'think' this makes our lineup (in average order) Crump: 8.00 Cook: 7.82 King: 6.85 Allen: 5.70 Starke: 4.00 Rowe 3.00 Kemp (RS) Total: 35.37 Starke's PL green sheet is 6.4 effective from 01/06/21, so with a 1.6 conversion, takes that to 4
