    Redcar v Poole

Hi Norfolk Bear, I am making the long trek upto Teesside tomorrow from my base near Southampton. Having been several times to the Media Prime arena it's a great racetrack and let's hope for a close meeting with no injuries and of course I'm hoping for a Pirates win.
  2. The Poole Website has the fixture preview in the latest news so therefore we must presume it's all systems go.
  3. My mistake Trackerman48 the actual attendances for both restricted meetings was less than 700 so I believe.
  4. Hi Skidder, that was my error when replying to Old Bob. The real figures show a stark reality that the club was well out of pocket and quite clearly could not sustain those losses if Covid-19 restrictions weren't lifted
  5. There is another way to put it. Stadium rent, is extortionate and add in riders wages plus they don't receive any money from the carpark, here lies the problem.
  6. Sorry Bob, but I disagree entirely with you. The meeting should be restaged to allow riders to earn money and the club to earn revenue. The sport is in trouble with dwindling crowds add in the delayed start to this season and at Poole Stadium because of Covid restrictions the club lost money with only being allowed 1300 spectators at the first two meetings. Without supporters and meetings, clubs will not survive. Tomorrow's meeting being cancelled is beyond the control of Poole Speedway. Stadium staff being pinged by the NHS Covid App to self isolate. Therefore the club has no access to the stadium tomorrow evening . I will also take you to task on the fact you stated Redcar fans won't trust the Poole management to honour tickets for any restaging date. That remark is not only inappropriate its borderline slanderous. You are entitled to your opinion but its not constructive and I don't consider your post is a fair reflection at all.
  7. What's the point of the SCB awarding a point each. Another stupid pointless reply. Restage the meeting so both sets of fans can attend and create revenue.
  8. A crass stupid pointless posting. Speedway has enough problems as it is. Poole Pirates should not forfeit this fixture in any circumstances.
  9. Thanks Keith we had a great time up north. A shame the weather was unsettled but at least we did get to see some speedway. Steve says it was nice to meet you and the same goes for me. Always enjoy my trips to Tyneside and to Brough Park. Best of luck for the rest of the season. Hopefully see you all next season.
  10. Hi Tsunami, thanks for the weather updates. I will be there at Brough Park this afternoon.
  11. Hi Tsunami, thanks for the weather updates. I will be there at Brough Park this afternoon.
  12. What are you talking about? Since when has anyone claimed entitlement? Let's hope it's not the Monarchs then who win the title.
  13. Can't argue with the result tonight. Berwick were better on the night and outgated us and fought for their lives. The key for me, was the performance of Kasper Andersen. A match winner for the Bandits.
  14. Hi Steve I will be there on Sunday along with a certain Mr Stephen Shovlar. I have always enjoyed my trips to Tyneside and to Brough Park and I would hate to see the Diamonds close down. Let's hope the weather gods play ball on Sunday.
  15. That's a great venue and they serve great food.
  16. Ah yes. The 1989 Cup final. The scalp of the mighty Pirates by the Bandits. We could discuss this but then I would have to insist we also discussed the 1990 season when I believe we got revenge.
  17. Hey Normski, I am travelling up with Steve and I am staying at the White Swan in Castlegate. What pubs if any in Berwick are showing the Gp?
  18. After the Pirates shock away result at the home of the Lions on Saturday. Leicester will be looking for quick revenge with the return fixture at Wimborne Road on Wednesday. Hans Anderson being a former Pirate will be a threat then add in Nick Morris and Kyle Howarth and the Lions will be up for the fight. Can't remember if Ryan Douglas has ridden at Poole before or Zane Kennedy. I don't think Dan and Joe Thompson have ridden there either. Tough match to predict. I am sure that Poole will not let complacency set in and will be determined to pick up 3 more precious league points. Let the battle commence. Thoughts?

    Kent v Poole 27/7/21 6.30pm

Fantastic meeting last night at Central Park stadium. Great racing and lots of passing . Kent just need another heat leader and a replacement for Paul Hurry. It's not for the want of trying but I don't think he is going to improve, too many injuries have blighted his speedway career, although he is still a class act on the grass. Kent have a great set up at Central Park and I hope they can make a success of staging speedway at Championship level.

    Scunthorpe vs Poole 30.07.2021

Hey Scunny Dan there will be a few Poole fans including myself who will be making the trip up to the Eddy Wright Raceway this coming Friday. Looking forward to the meeting as Scunthorpe is a terrific race track and I have enjoyed all my previous visits.

Leicester vs Poole 24 July 2021

Thanks for the praise Robinh88. I didn't expect to get anything last night. Leicester are a top side and we will have to be on our guard on Wednesday as the Lions will be looking for revenge. I thought the meeting was full of action and close riding. Leicester is not the best race track for passing but all in all there were some decent heats.

Leicester vs Poole 24 July 2021

Well that was the shock of the season.Leicester's 3 year unbeaten home record finally broken. A truly awesome result from the Pirates who were up for the fight from heat 1 throughto heat 15. Danyon Hume you are a star in the making. All 6 riders including guest James Wright gave their all. Now travelling home with a happy Mr Shovlar. Up the Pirates.
  24. On Wednesday the Pirates take on the Gladiators in the 2nd leg of the koc. With a 8 point lead from the first leg I expect Poole to finish the job at Wimborne Road. The main threat will come from Bjarne Pedersen and Jason Crump and I am sure that Zane Keleher will have a point to prove. Thoughts.
