  1. 1st time at Berwick for some years. Hardly changed. Quite liked the format. Makes the back end of the meeting, even more competitive and you must have a strong 3/4 riders. Young Flinty looks a star in the making. I expected not many passes, but the racing was still quite competitive. Overall, enjoyed it!

    Tigers v Panthers 22/07

I went last night, and also went to the Ipswich match. Those are the first speedway matches ive been to since the Sean Wilson, Andre compton days. (yes, a while ago) The racing back then was usually gate and go. Sheffield generally picked alot of Racers than the smaller track specialists. There obviously wasnt alot of passing last night, but if you put your back into it, then you got the reward. With how warm conditions were, the track looked great, super grippy and fast, wasnt throwing up any dust. But i would like to see it more slicker and a real dirt line on the outside. Will enjoy my future visits as a neutral.

    Speedway DVD Help

Thank you, yes, im buying the 2019 ones and the middle summer GPs was very good,
  7. Not sure if this is the best place to put this topic but asking for some help. Ive bought a relative who isnt very well (dementia) the speedway gp dvds from 2016 2017 2018, which have all the GPS and SON. But which GP's or SON events would you say was the best from these years, really dont want to watch the gate and go events. But any help would be appreciated.

    Sky Sports New Deal

Perhaps im in the minority what enjoys the sky coverage on tv and without it, i probably wouldnt be able watch any speedway at all. It could be with alot of tweaking, and from a neutral perspective, we see just random matches, british final and then a playoff at the end of the season. Could do with a weekly show, what covers all the leagues, U21, grand prix qualifiers etc, more in depth program which will get the casual viewer more interested in speedway. (this may cost alot, and if sky dont make much from speedway, then not going to be worth it) The price for going to a speedway match has become to expensive compared to how much it was and in comparison to other things, it for me has become a luxury. What sort of product will we see this year if sky shows matches? I actually dread to think, top riders gone, reserves at national league level. Going to be a long time before we see an actual Elite league standard match. Give the premier league alot more coverage and we may be onto a winner in a few years.

    Elite League Draft Riders

So if these draft riders, also sign for a premier league club. Which club has priority if both clubs ride on the same night? Do these draft riders become assets of these clubs now, or some of them?
  14. " There is a firm emphasis on British youth, as all ten clubs will be tracking two riders from a list of rising stars selected by national senior and Under-21 officials." So it could possibly be alot of youngsters who could be picked as the stars of tommorow, Cook, Auty, Newman, Howarth, Garrity? I know some of these arent U21, but i suppose everything depends on if its gonna be a set criteria or flexible
  15. Think we gotta let them release a full statement before getting to over excited at seeing a national league rider go should to shoulder with Holder and Ward etc.... Hopefully its along the lines of those who have been in recent British U21 finals or Under 25, British and not yet gone Elite on a permanent occasion. May just give some riders who arent upto a consistant premier league level a new lease of live to gain the confidence again.
