    Kings Lynn 2023

My personal opinion is that Jason Edwards deserves to retain his place, as he is developing into a good rider. I'd also keep KK purely for the big scores he's likely to score in home matches. I know he doesn't score well away, but winning at home with a decent result, gives us the chance of the bonus points. Of course we want to win away matches, but how many clubs do that on a regular basis anyway? If Laguta is coming in, and all the signs do now suggest that he will, I'd like to see local rider Connor Mountain in the side. He's been so unlucky not to find a Premiership place this year, as he was doing well last season. Who from the rest of the team would I release, if the figures all worked. Klindt would have to be one, Tofty maybe, and for me, although I recognise that many of you think differently, I'd get rid of Josh. I like the guy, but for me, when fit, he's not consistent enough. One thing I do know, is that I'm glad I'm not a promoter/team manager, as it must be heartbreaking having to break up a team they had so much belief in a couple of months ago. Whoever leaves, I wish them well for the future, and hope they get fixed up with another club ASAP.
  2. Having been lucky enough to see a Nora Meeting on the Isle of Wight last summer, which was also a 4TT, I can only endorse what you say. There is a real platform here for speedway to reinvent itself, rather than letting it die in the way it currently is. The SCB/BSPL really should go along and witness one of these meetings, assuming they haven't already secretly done so, there's a lot to learn. Do I think in it's current form that it would satisfy supporters up and down the country, then no I don't, but there are certainly parts of it that could be intermingled with what we know as normal league speedway, thus making it more pleasurable afternoon/evening for all ages, which includes young children.

    Oxford Chargers 2023

Still struggling along mate. Very impressed with Atkins these days, he's becoming the real deal. As you say, Jody is improving nicely, and was also good yesterday. Win or lose, the meeting was simply a good advert for our sport.

    Oxford Chargers 2023

Very good meeting, and whilst I'm a Mildenhall fan, I think you might be right.......but only might!! Have a good season.

    Scunthorpe 2023

    Not good signings at all.

Pity it's not at King's Lynn today, as it's lovely and sunny at the moment, so hope you don't have a wasted journey.

    Mildenhall 2023

Something good is happening at Mildenhall with it regaining it's happy family feeling once again, thanks to all the hard wok everybody is putting in. Customers are made to feel welcome, and the only other place that I've experienced that is the Isle of Wight, who have a wonderful set-up, that speedway in general could and should be learning from. People moan about Mildenhall being a dangerous track, but then all tracks are dangerous, and I don't mean that literally, but wherever you race on a machine that are so highly tuned these days, with no brakes, then they're all dangerous from that point of view. I agree that they do get a lot of riders falling/crashing etc; at Mildenhall, but nine times out of ten, it's the younger riders learning their trade that are falling/crashing, which is inevitable as this is a Development League club, not somewhere like Doyle, Bewley, Masters and so on race. Yesterday, I attended the meeting against Berwick, raced in front of a very health Bank Holiday crowd, and was equal in racing quality that I've seen at any level (I'm not talking GP's), and possibly the best meeting I've been lucky enough to witness at ANY level, for a couple of years now. So well done Mildenhall for all the hard work you are obviously putting, and well done Berwick, for coming and attacking the track, rather than being wary of it. Superb Meeting.

I have a hunch that 28-day replacement (or longer), could well be Troy Batchelor.

    Lynn v Sheffield 24/04/23

So, Simon scored more points than Nicolai Klindt, Jason Edwards and David Bellego(Sheffield). He scored as many points as Michael Palm Toft & Frederik Jakobsen and if you included bonus points, he was better than those two. So, of the 14-riders on display, he was better than a third of them. I never make comments on here with regarding the rights and wrongs of what managements are doing at any club, but the comments I'm reading about Messrs Chapman, Allitt & Brady on both the King's Lynn & Peterborough sites, are in my opinion, cause to make them walk away, hence the closure of both clubs. DO YOU REALLY WANT THAT? Of course everyone has the right of freedom of speech, but don't you think it would be better to be done in a more productive way, rather than continually slagging people off that are putting a lot of money into keeping the sport alive at those two venues. Do you really, with hand on heart, want to risk losing the sport you love, forever, because that's what would happen, then your only choice of watching the sport without travelling to the Midlands and beyond, would be Ipswich & Mildenhall? Just for this one time only, do I think the team that has been put together at KIng's Lynn is good, then no I don't. Did they have enough money to put better teams out, if I include Peterborough, only they know that, so I can't be critical on that point. Do I have the answers to solving the obvious problems, no I don't thankfully, as I'm not putting thousands of pounds into clubs in to trying to entertain us all. I know that you will probably start slagging me off now, but BRING IT ON, because it seems that all the British Speedway Forum is designed to these days, is look at negatives instead of praising positives. I'll close my posting by saying, please continue supporting your respect clubs, and show some respect towards those who run them. Okay, so fire away if you want, but I will not react to any of them. Enjoy your sport.

What makes you think Buster wants to concentrate on football??

    Lynn v Sheffield 24/04/23

Lets wait and see what Simon scores first. He's seldom let the club down when riding in the reserve berth, and certainly never gives up, even when he's last..
  12. Don't think you'd post on that one for that particular meeting Mr Neutral.
  13. Oh hello, it's you, you've popped up on here now!!! A chap from Highways tells me that you weren't exactly a neutral, as you were supporting one particular rider!!!! With regards to the no overtaking and general track conditions, the same comments are being made about Oxford last night. Must be something to do with global warming. Have a nice day, and I'll see you on the Ipswich site tomorrow.

    Northern Junior League 2023

Never the less, IT IS STILL RUNNING. Well done to Redcar for allowing that to happen, and shame on tracks that would fall in the Midlands area, give or take a few miles, won't give youngsters the same chance. I realise that they have to rely on parents/guardian taking them everywhere, so maybe that's the reason. But if it is, why does the NJL manage to operate okay?
  15. But surely in the case of Peterborough and Wolverhampton, that can't be put down to self interest.

    Wolves 2023

This is terrible news for everybody involved in any shape or form at Wolverhampton. It's terrible news for speedway altogether, especially as Peterborough are going too. It's been pretty obvious that speedway as we know it, is dying a death, but you expect that to happen when the promoters pull the plug, and for them to have the rug pulled from under them. You obviously can't run a Premiership league with 5-teams. Everybody has a turn at slagging off promoters etc; throughout the season, but my heart goes out to all of them, trying to come up with a workable solution to this bombshell.

    Northern Junior League 2023

I wonder why, because they do with the MDL. Could it because results are changed after the referee has sent his official programme in?

    Kings Lynn 2023

Really enjoyed reading that, and completely agree with all you say. I was impressed to see that Sir Sidney liked it. Who the hell is he, and where has he suddenly popped up from, as I've never seen any of his posts on here????????????????????

    Mildenhall 2023

Why are people posting on a Mildenhall 2022 site, when there is a Mildenhall 2023 site to post on?
  20. A good start for the Suffolk side yesterday, with Ben Trigger at No 3 with his 9+1 looking particularly impressive. William Richardson failed to score, but it wasn't for lack of racing in his NDL debut, and he showed bags of potential. Without doubt, it will take a good side to beat them at West Row this season. MILDENHALL 53: Alfie Bowtell 14 Lee Complin 12+2 Ben Trigger 9+1 Arran Butcher 7+2 George Congreve 6+2 Josh Warren 5+1 William Richardson 0 KENT 37: Connor King 12 Ben Morley 11 Tom Woolley 6 Joe Alcock 3+2 Rhys Naylor 3 Sam Woolley 1+1 James Laker (Guest) 1

    Northern Junior League 2023

I'm sure if Jim McGregor send the fixtures to Speedway Star, they will get printed.
  22. I've known Dick for years, he's a good guy. With regards to coming to Berwick, I've been twice from my Norfolk home, only to arrive for rain-off's both times. Enjoy your season, and hope the Bandits lift some silver.

    Ipswich 2023

I'm not an Ipswich fan, and follow King's Lynn, But Danny was a very well deserved winner.
  24. I have to disagree with you about it being a crap meeting, there was some excellent racing at times, and I thought Danny King was a deserved winner. The junior racing was also very good considering their ages, and Neil Vatcher must be congratulated for the effort he puts into this level of racing. The Veterans was obviously just a nostalgia thing, but part of history of our sport. I do agree with you about the endless displays between heats, they were far to long. I wish Dick Barrie hadn't kept speaking on the centre concrete for so long at a time, thus making it a rush for Kevin Moore to read out the results and times. Just one thing mate, when giving the times, can you keep your voice raised please, as many of us around where I was, and you know where, just couldn't catch them. Just a request please, thanks buddy. I disagree with FinalBendThree, I was bloody frozen in the latter stages of the meeting. But hey ho, whatever our differing thoughts, the season is underway, and I hope bags of money was made. Have a good year, whoever you support.
