  1. I'd be most grateful if you could. Somebody feeds the points scorers onto the BSPA website, but sadly don't include heat details like the Midland Development League does. Thanks in advance if you are able to come up with the answers.
  2. Boz, Do you by any chance have the same superb details for the previous weeks meeting against Workington please?

Nielsen's first defence was the one against Perry at Mildenhall. Cheers MM
  4. It has worked for me 'greyhoundp' thanks for that. But doesn't want to know about dropping a second line!! Don't worry Neil I shan't hand any money over to Pc World. I've had a local guy look at my PC........time.......;and time......and time.....and time again at a minimum charge of £35 an hour (still £35 if he's only with you 10-minutes), and still things aren't right. I honestly think they only set you up about 80% in the full knowledge that dumb bells like myself will have to call on their services again. I've run up over £200 thus far, which is ridiculous when things are still not right. The only other local people we have want a staggering £80 minimum charge to come to your home. Wrong place to be discussing this, so I'll stop there, so thanks to both of you.

  6. Fantastic performance from both sides last night, and without question the best meeting I've seen at the Norfolk Arena this season. Oh bugger, when I hit the return key I'm not dropping down a line (everything is okay on e-mails, word & excel......any ideas anyone please?), so will just have to carry on as I am!! Robert Lambert was once again simply fantastic, but I go along with the views of those that say he should be judged when he's ridden a few away tracks, but I'm sure he'll do okay. He's got so much speed under him, I'd like to see him miss the gate, then see if he's capable of doing the job. Having said that, to witness the way he powered under Lewis Blackbird and Josh Bates in Heat 11 was simply breath taking. As someone else mentioned, for them Lewis Rose was their MOTM, and I would echo those sentiments, this young man has made startling progress right under our noses, which proves what an important role the National League plays in the development of young British talent. With regards to Mildenhall, Josh Bates is making rapid strides forward, and what a fully committed guest performance from Mr Blackbird. The second half saw a 6-heat, 8-rider (well seven turned up) Midland Development League Grand Prix Round, and how wonderful to see the largest percentage of the crowd staying on to watch it, including those from Mildenhall. Yes, this was the perfect package for the paying customer at just £10, and how good to see the crowd high enough to warrant opening the second car park. It takes two teams to put on an entertaining meeting, and this they did with no holds barred. Finally, I must give mention to centre-green presenter Matt Black, who has taken to the role with such enthusiasm, and after a shaky start, is now turning into someone who is a pleasure to listen to. A Mike Bennett or Kevin Long he might not be, but he's different, and that's what so refreshing about him. Role on the 17th July for the Robert Lambert/Adam Ellis show. Sorry about the way I've had to present this, but PC World want an arm and a leg to investigate why I can't drop down a line with the return key, and I feel that money could be better spent visiting Buxton & Stoke next week, to see what talent is on offer there........oh and catch up with the ever ageing 'Proud Potter'
  7. Great list of detailed results kevcfc, thanks very much. Do you by any chance have the same details for Round One please? Now a question that has nothing to do with speedway, but recently I changed my computer, and ever since then, I can't drop down a line when writing on these forums. I'm hitting the 'return' key, but it stops on the same line, and I wondered if you or anyone else might no a way around the problem?? When using 'Word' or 'Excel' it's fine, but not on forums such as these suddenly!! This puts me in a situation where I won't be able to publish Amateur Meeting (STR & Dragons) results anymore, as everything would have to be in a straight line like this. I've asked at PC World, but they say they have no idea, that's of course without me paying them an arm and leg to look at it for me!! Thanks anybody if you can assist.
  8. No probs Veterancub, you did a great job with those results, thanks once again.
  9. Tonight gives us the opportunity to witness a little piece of history, as Castleford make their first EVER visit to King's Lynn. These Midland Development League meetings have really caught the imagination of the Norfolk people this season, unlike last year when we were so dominant in the Anglia Junior League, with large numbers staying on to watch the youngsters go through their paces, and so far nobody has been disappointed. I know from talking with the riders, that they really appreciate the support they are being given, and say that it's so much nicer for them rather than racing in front of empty terraces. Although currently bottom of the league, the Yorkshire club will be far from a push over tonight, as they have introduced into their line-up current Mildenhall rider Nathan Stoneman, who is more than capable of going through the card unbeaten. Victory for King's Lynn will move us up into 2nd place, just two-points behind league leaders Belle Vue, and with a match in hand, and with our support, that can and will be achieved......hopefully/ The line-ups are as follows: - KING'S LYNN: Andy Mountain; Connor Mountain; Adam Kirby; Josh Bailey. (Team manager: Wayne Dunworth). CASTLEFORD: Nathan Stoneman; Arron Mogridge; Lee Geary; Adam Sheppard. (Team manager: Pete Hibberd). As I said, this is the first time that the 'King's have ever visited King's Lynn, but the two sides have met before at their former home the Whitwood Stadium. It was in their inaugural season of 1979, on the 31st July to be precise, when the two sides slogged out a 38-38 Challenge Match draw. At no point were the Yorkshire club never not in front, until the very last heat of the night, when we grabbed an important heat victory to tie the match. CASTLEFORD 38 1. There was some excellent races throughout each discipline, with the Aussie trio of Daniel Winchester, Kale Ballantyne and Ethen Ballantyne in particular showing what a great talent that is waiting down under to hopefully reach these shores sooner rather than later. Sadly you won't get a further chance to see them again for a while, as they head back home, but just remember the names, because they are a little bit special. If you've never sampled a Southern Track Riders' Meeting before, then there are still quite a few meetings remaining this season, and remember, it doesn't cost a penny to get in, sixty races FREE OF CHARGE. A 12-page programme (not racesheet) is produced for every meeting, where a £1 donation is enough to secure one. Forthcoming fixtures are: Sunday 7th July at King's Lynn at 12.00pm (Championship Round). Tuesday 16th July at Ryde, Isle of Wight at 7.00pm. Sunday 11th August at King's Lynn at 12.00pm (MAGPAS meeting & Championship Round). Sunday 1st September at King's Lynn at 12.00pm (STR v Scunthorpe). Sunday 29th September at Iwade, Sittingbourne (20th Anniversary Meeting) - START TIME TO BE CONFIRMED. Sunday 6th October at Scunthorpe (Scunthorpe v STR) - START TIME TO BE CONFIRMED. Saturday 19th October at King's Lynn at 5.00pm (4 Team Tournament). Hope to see you at one of them......or more.
  11. After all the build up yesterday, what a huge disappointment for this meeting to fall victim of the weather. What disappoints me even more is the fact that if the referee had shown a little more effort in trying to get the races up and running in the main meeting, then this MDL fixture could have started and quite possibly reached a conclusion. Visit a Grand Prix, and the riders are out ready for the next race before the announcer has had chance to give the result from the race you've just seen. Visit a British Youth Championship Meeting, and the riders are out ready for the next race before the announcer has had chance to give the result from the race you've just seen. Visit an Amatuer Meeting, and the riders are out ready for the next race before the announcer has had chance to give the result from the race you've just seen. Visit a domestic league meeting, and spend half your time twidling your thumbs between races, where in the case of last night, it was chilly on the terraces, but no doubt nice and snug in the officials box...........WHY? The weather forecast last night was not good, the sky looked full of rain all evening, yet the referee still allowed riders all the time in the world to get through fifteen races. It was known that there was a junior match to follow, and every effort should have been made to keep the meeting running at a decent pace. Although I shouldn't think the youngsters actually reside in or around Castleford, I bet that a fair number of them had to make at least a 2-hour journey to reach the Norfolk Arena, which is a lot of return travel time and incurs large fuel costs, and these are lads and parents that probably can ill afford that. The junior meetings were lost at both Coventry and Stoke for varying reasons, and now last night makes it three in a row. Please officials, for the sake of those who both compete, and those that enjoy to watch these events, when the weather looks a bit iffy, keep your finger on the button. The seniors enjoyed their evening, and the juniors have got the same right to enjoy theirs too. Mike
  12. You've just answered my question from another topic, so thanks once again. Regards Mike Can you confirm that Daniel Phillips didn't ride in the Newcastle round, as I was led to believe that he had, although my source isn't particularly reliable all the time. Thanks once again Mike
  13. Hi Veterancub, First and foremost may I thank you very much indeed for posting these results onto the forum, it's a gesture that is greatly apprciated on my part, and I hope it's something you'll be in a position to carry on doing. I can help with the times for the Workington v Redcar meeting on the 8th June, which are as follows: Heat 1 = 69.0 Heat 2 = 72.8 Heat 3 = 68.9 Heat 4 = 69.2 Do you by any chance have access to the scorers etc., from the three rounds of the Northern Open Championship that have been staged thus far? Anyway, thanks once again, and it's refreshing to finally find someone who understands that not everybody lives in the world of Facebook and Twitter. Best Wishes Mike
  14. It was a mere 202-yards Martin. Speedway at the Whitwood Stadium was promoted by Jim Streets, who had a 9.30pm deadline on evening meetings. They hosted their inaugural meeting on the 12th June 1979 when Rod Hunter was victorous in the Daily Mirror Kings Cavalcade. A total of eleven open licence meetings were staged at the tiny venue in that initial season of racing. In 1980, just five open meetings were held, the last of which saw Castleford beat Felton 43-35 on the 24th June. A further meeting, namely the West Yorkshire Pairs was scheduled for the opening day of July, and although a programme was produced, for whatever reason, the meeting was never staged, and that was the end of the road for speedway at Altofts Lane.
  15. There has been an alteration to the result of Heat 5 in the Intermediate Class, which should now read as follows: 1st Rod Woodhouse 2nd Simon Pearce. Tom Rowlett fell in the first running of that heat, and he was sunsequently allowed back into the re-run off a 15-metre handicap. It transpires that the rider is only eligible to score any points in the re-run if the incident happened on the first bend, which this didn't. Therefore, Simon Pearce who finished 3rd, has now been upgraded to 2nd, and Rowlett receives no points at all. Therefore rider No 5 (Simon Pearce) should now be credited with 3-points in the rider scorechart, and Rider No 9 (Tom Rowlett) reduced from 14-points to 12-points, thus making Mick Skinner the outright winner of that class with 14-points. So apologies for my original posting being incorrect, but it's a situation that none of us in the box were aware of at the time, and only came to light after the meeting.

    Lydd Veterans Championship 8/6/13

Mike, I've produced times and results and hope they correspond with what you came up with. I can only assume that the Peterboriough fan you enjoyed the company of was a certain Steve Miles. Nice guy when he buys a round , and the only Peterborough fan that I know who would be sensible enough to travel down to deepest Kent to see a Veterans Meeting. Having said that, having to put up with the entertainement on offer at the EOS, makes Lydd or anywhere else quite a sensible option........even the kids at Northside....hey Steve?? 2 VALVE OVER 45's 1. 17. No Welsh Wonder, I'm not grumpy mate, just wish that people within the sport didn't think the world started and finished with Facebook & Twitter. Enjoy Wolverhampton tonight.
  18. Thanks for you comments Martin. Yes it was a good day, and at times the racing was quite exciting. It doesn't take that long to type the results out and put them on the BSF, I just wish other people would provide a similar servicve when they attend such events. I'm sure the riders like to see the publicity they are given. When do you ever see any Northern Junior League results published in detail, something which I'm sure both riders and supporters would appreciate....NEVER!! They just don't seem to care about anything other than the little world they are living in. Certain details appear on Facebook, but by no means anything comprehensive, which is sad for forum users. Not everybody's lives revolve around Facebook & Twitter for varying reasons, but that's the modern world we live in unfortunately. If you've got the means or time to use it great, but if you haven't, you just get cast aside. Certainly not fair on the older generation who have played their part in keeping the sport alive year after year, but then get cast aside as attention is only focused on the younger generation. Of course the younger people have got to be drawn into the sport, although I'm not convinced that this sort of media outlet does it, because if you're not interested in the sport in the first place, you're not going to bother to read about it, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter, Daily Mirror etc., etc anyway. I'm not the slightest bit interested in cricket, so don't read a single word about it, no matter where it's printed. Where on earth am I going with this, get off your pedestal Mimmo, nobody cares anyway
  19. Could you possibly post the scorers up to the point of the abandonment please Laurence. Cheers mate Mike
  20. Nobody seems to be taking this league or its competitions seriously when it comes to publishing scorers and heat details. The Midland Development League provide a superb service for people wanting to keep their own personal records, but sadly those resposible for the Northern Junior League are making no effort whatsoever. Apart from supporters wanting to know what's going on, it must surely be nice for the riders concerned to see their names in print. With this sort of attitude, it's little wonder that the general public make for the exit doors prior to these meetings starting. Such a shame!!
  21. What I meant Semion was that I wouldn't imagine him to be racing at National League level for more than one season. Sorry for the confusion.
  22. Darcy Ward Mk2 but the biggest difference being hwe is British! Terrific debut by anyones standards, and assuming he continues in this vein, his stay in the National League will be very short. Very entertaining meeting too, with some good pressure applied in particular from Messrs Wright, McKinna and Williamson. Roll-on the next one against Stoke in a couple of weeks. Only down side to last night, apart from the cold yet again, was another abysmal crowd.
  23. Hi Martin, Pleased you enjoyed your Cardiff experience, really great weekend wasn't it. Goodness knows where they got those awful centre-green presenters from. The only blessing was that with the tannoy system being so bad, it was difficult to know what they were waffling on about anyway. Well it's the 15th May since the Norfolk Arena faithful saw there last track action, so surely to goodness they'll turn out tonight, even though it might end up being a bit one sided, but hopefully not to much. On there day, Buxton can provide a good challenge, so lets hope tonight is one of those days. Whatever, it will just be nice to see some action again. Spelling mistakes are inexcusable in press releases to be honest, and they happen far to often around the country. There's probably a few in this posting, but I'm not being paid to get things right. Hope all is well with you, and that Chris gets another ride sooner rather than later.
  24. Would somebody be kind enough to post the heat details on here from the above meeting which I understand Stoke won 21-15. The points scorers are on the BSPA website, but as so often is the case, no heat details. If anybody could help, I'd be ever so grateful. Thank You Mike
  25. Haha, I'm not going to discuss the latter with being a Chelsea Fan......and yes before you say it.....I'M THE ONE
