Just like life we are all bound by increasing regulations that replace common sense and the ability to be flexible. -
Great articles about Jack Young and how he progressed to be World Champion.

Looks like a cracking meeting. I hope Nicolai Klindt gets a podium place, he is a real star of the future.

And the steel shoe on the right footed boot was for what?

Thanks for your reply, was it not yourself that I spoke to during the week?

Can anyone give me technical details of the 897 engine which would include drawings or photo's. I have the manual for the 897 from the Jawa agent but this only gives basic information. I will pay postage etc.
-
Yes bring on the Jawa's too.

1965 he came 21st in the British semi finals. First 16 went through to the British final, won by Barry Briggs who went on to win the world championship.

Charlie Monk, because of his cool non talking exteriour. I was told that he would heat his R40 and bring it in a flask to put it into his oil tank and therefore gain an advantage in getting his bike going. I also remember him giving me his autograph and putting an X on the chin of a photo of George Hunter! If only he had made it to a world final, he had the class to make a rostrum place.

Nigel did a great job on the radio and plugged speedway in general. Great radio show, and heard by many speedway fans far and wide as the phone in proved. ( inc Greg Hancocks mother)

On this form, start engraving the trophy. -
Seems like you need to subscribe unless anyone knows better.

All of you enjoy a great experience, and who knows one day you might not be the supporting act.
-
Try a visit to Ashfield or Armadale then you'll see that the racing at smaller tracks is just as exciting.
-
Very well put, sad day when money talked and Hyde Road was gone.
-
I was at Armadale and saw the incident. There were many problems with the tapes and eventually the starts were done with flags. It looked and obviously was a real sore one for Dan. Take care young man and all the very best for the future.
