    K M Videos

Boston were covered by Screensport many times in the 80's. I know for certain that 1984 Edinburgh 1986 Poole, Rye House and Long Eaton were filmed. One of them meetings were scrubbed off the master tape. I have 'em all somewhere. Incidentally when Tommy Rander and his company Transmission TV and Media provided the pictures in the late 80's Mike Bennett, Warwick Mead and myself were amongst the staff. Clive Fisher did the commentary. Mike Bennett worked for Paul Bonner in 1987 the year when British League coverage overtook National League. I can remember Edwin Overland, Dave Lanning, Chris French and others also providing commentary. Dave Lanning for me the voice of TV speedway, but Edwin didn't do a bad job either. I would be interested to see footage from the following tracks that I visited but are now long gone. Weymouth, Scunthorpe (Both Quibell and Ashby), Birmingham (Old Perry Barr).

    Speedway In Milton Keynes

I was at Mk most weeks in the late 80's with Mike Bennett and to be honest crowds were better than a lot of tracks. The Groveway ended because the stadium owners wanted them out. Elfield Park - great track was always getting vandalised. Team Man is the one you want for info.
  3. Never been to a GP never will. Don't even watch it on TV now. It's dross.
  4. An old favourite of ours. Anyone know if and when the meeting is this year?
  5. My little lad is 4. Don't tell me that we are gonna have to pay a tenner for him.

    Coventry's Two Speedways

The track in Foleshill was quite close to where the Ricoh now stands, the site now covered by housing and I believe Stadium close is a name of one of the roads

    Coventry Review

Expensive admission. Program Rubbish difficult to write in some heats. Souvenir stall - Ditto, expensive and poor choice. Tack - slick, however everyone but GB appeared to get by riders. Team - Abysmal. Practice is it true that Team GB arrived at tea time and the others spent the afternoon practising. Presentation - Very poor.

I'd agree with Sittingbourne getting it if nothing else to try and get some people to visit the track who never had before. As this is a shared event though they will benefit exactly the same wherever it is held. But the call about neutral tracks, well Scunthorpe fans didn't exactly complain when they held the pairs. My big fear is that there may be no League next year and the event won't be held.

Give it to Sittingbourne or Buxton.

    16 Heat Format: Record Score(s)

Just exactly how many maximum wins has there been? Scunthorpe recorded one over Newport a couple of years ago, likewise K Lynn did the same to Sheffield last year. I remember Boston having 12 5-1's v Scunthorpe many years ago, the 4-2 happened when a home rider had an EF.

Being involved in two other sports as well, one in the management has already grabbed that 16 quid mate.
