Kings Lynn V Swindon 02/08/17
Zeistsport replied to therefused's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So basically now if Buster thinks it might rain, or has a weakened team, or his tea leaves tell him something, or a black cat crosses his path or just plain doesn't bloody feel like it he's going to call a meeting off so they can run it on a day when everything is in their favour! Oh and of course it might actually rain! -
On holiday oop nawth at the moment and saw Graversen at Sheffield on Thurs and Berwick on Sat and he looked quite good on both occasions. Gappmaier however, was just abysmal. He failed to score at home, only got 3 rides and was in fact beaten by Graversen in his last outing!

So no Simon Stead, I wonder where he's going?

As I understand it, the 50 points limit is for initial team building only! Once everyone has an actual 2017 average the limit will be lowered. Forget the idea that every team is going to have 6/7 points or more to redeclare with that just would not work!

Poole did last year with Miedzinski and the BSPA told them they were very naughty boys!!!!!

Posted by Nicolai Klindt on twitter....... NICOLAI has been released by wolverhampton due to averages and is now allowed to talk with other clubs in the british elite league........ Sign him up Gary!

......and the ref who excluded Emil after letting the race continue for most of the following lap and only stopped the race when Bjarne failed to get his bike off the track in time! Go figure..... -

Zeistsport replied to Midland Robin's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Just confirms my own personal opinion of the the Chapmans.................... From the Swindon website........ REGRETABLY, Kings Lynn have refused to allow Darcy Ward permission to ride in Thursday's 4 Team Tournament. Co-Promoter Gary Patchett adds: 'I received a phone call from Rob Lyon, earlier this evening, advising me that Darcy riding tomorrow was against their wishes and that the rider was withdrawing on that basis. I cannot but think that this is part of a pre-conceived agenda on the part of the Kings Lynn promotion after the protracted transfer of Troy Batchelor to Swindon. Considering Jonathan Chapman was sat opposite me all day yesterday at a promoter's meeting in Rugby I would have thought that he might have remembered to mention it to me then. What they (the KL promotion) clearly do not appreciate is that by doing this they are depriving the broader speedway public of the opportunity to see one of the sports outstanding prospects. This meeting was never about Swindon, but about the plight of Cradley, Oxford and Reading. Considering the Chapman's involvement in the Leicester project I would have thought they would be sympathetic to the cause. Obviously not. Using the rider as a pawn in this way is disgraceful. Eastbourne's Australian star Cameron Woodward steps in and we are grateful to him for accepting our invitation, at this late stage.' -

THE LINE-UPS for the forthcoming four team tournament, to be held at Blunsdon on Thursday 17th, September 2009, have now been finalised. The Swindon side will be made up of club captain, Leigh Adams with current Robins Simon Stead and Morten Risager. Swindon asset and Abbey favourite Mads Korneliussen completes the quartet. The Cradley Heathens team will be represented by Hans Andersen, Adam Shields, Darcy Ward and the Robins #8 Cory Gathercole. Former Cradley promoter Colin Pratt will assume the managerial responsibilities. The Ideal Video Reading Racers team managed by Tim Sugar will feature current Robins Matej Zagar and Travis McGowan together with former Racers Patrick Hougaard and Phil Morris. Last, but by no means least, the Oxford Cheetahs team will be headed by World Champion Elect Jason Crump. His team mates are set to be current GP reserve Neils Kristian Iversen, former Robin and Cheetah favourite Steve Johnston and current Swindon reserve and long time Oxford asset Paul Hurry. Past manager Richard Palmer will take charge of the Cheetahs. Fresh off the website..... -
Should World Cup Teams Be Allowed Reserves
Zeistsport replied to CookieMonster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes of course there should be a reserve allowed, but he should only be allowed to ride as the result of a crash by a team mate who is too injured to continue. If anyone develops a case of "Joe Screen Shoulder", an injury that they "aggravate" during the meeting that they had before then tough t*t*y! That's the chance the team takes in selecting that rider in the first place! -
As a kid growing up in Swindon, Mac's sister in law was my next door neighbour. I've no idea what his date of birth was but he remains a Swindon boy who's career was sadly cut short by a bad accident....

Danish Grand Prix
Zeistsport replied to Midland Robin's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm sorry but you can't seriously believe he will appear in any "team" competition any time soon, he will want to save himself for the individual events.... Also consider this, if he now withdraws from the meeting having been officially nominated, we get the joy of watching Lubos Tomicek again (Assuming Bjarne rides!) -
