  1. It said in the paper that Matt Ford would have considered Piotr Pawlicki if it wasn't for the 8 point rule so i assume he is being assessed as a gp rider as his previous average is under 8.

Wolves would have signed him so there was nothing for Ford to consider

  2. He does the majority of the time. All about the scoring in the 1-5.

Like I said Newman will always get you points at reserve but then his average will go up a fair bit and then that would put him in the 1-5 and its a whole different story then.

Key to building a winning team is to have riders who will score consistently week in and week out no matter what position they ride at.

    Woryna for example.

if he has a 4.65 average then he will start at reserve and score big.

When he does move out of reserve he would be more than capable of scoring points @ No.2 or 4. IMO.

no the key to being a winning team is reserve strength always has been

  3. Looks like Poole season hinges around what Woryna does I watched him for a season at Brandon obviously he has improved but that is in Poland he may not turn out to be the same rider over here and he did spend some time on the injured list

  4. Can't believe no one's brought this subject up on here but Glasgow Speedway have announced that there will no longer be concession prices for over 65s, stating financial loss as a reason.

An abominable decision in my opinion, to penalise the very people, the majority of whom will have stuck by the club through thick and thin and during previous times when it was on its knees.

WRONG WRONG decision Mr Facenna. I reckon this will come back and bite you on the bum.

.......and for all those who back the decision on social media saying it is a small price to pay, I wonder if they would feel the same if that £3.50 had been added to their last year's entry price making it £21 admission?

I, for one, will still be attending as speedway is my favourite sport and has been since 1964........but I'm afraid, in protest, I will no longer by buying a programme at £3, a fifty-fifty draw ticket at £1 and food & drink around the value of £5.

I know I will be slated on here for taking this decision and will be seen to be damaging the club even more but I feel so strongly about it after supporting, and contributing to, the Tigers for so many years. What other sport or entertainment throughout the country doesn't have concessions for older people? Can't imagine very many.

I think Glasgow Speedway should seriously rethink this decision and consider other options. A small increase would have been acceptable......but not this. Im very angry.

It bit them at Coventry when they did it Horton walked away the next season

  5. It's a shame we miss out on Piotr on his real average but at least the BSPA have finally done the very thing many have been asking for and give this standard of rider a real average.

I say shame because he would have been a great addition to our side for 2018 and to the league.

It also makes it harder for the league to attract these 7 GP riders that BT apparently want as part of their deal.

Not that Zagar was ever coming back, because of the Polish ruling and Janowski was never going to come either.

only need two then Steve Doyle Cook Holder Lingren Vaculik

  6. I have certainly not made light of the situation. Perhaps you should read through my posts again without the garbage replies from the imbeciles.

Coventry have their new thread now in the NL section and I hope their fans on here support their new look team.

why do you have to stoop to calling people imbeciles or is that how you talk about people down south.there are a lot of Poole fans that act like human beings and treat other people the same but not you

  7. I can appreciate the misgivings that many Coventry supporters will have about this proposal, but I really hope that a good number do eventually decide to support it. Boycotting your own team cannot possibly do any good. As a lifelong Birmingham supporter, I can remember the Bordesley Green era. The facilities there were appalling and many supporters genuinely believed that if they stayed away they would somehow force an improvement, but all that they achieved was to hasten the end.

I agree that using Leicester will do little or nothing to help the club get back into Brandon or find another venue in the Coventry area, but at least it will keep the club's name alive, and this is vital if something concrete is to eventually be realised. If Mick Horton gets no support he will give it neck and won't have much joy in finding a taker if he tries to sell it on.

I'd say to Coventry supporters - keep up the pressure and let the promotion know how you feel - but don't withdraw your support.

the name can be kept alive without going to Leicester

  8. Thanks. 80% saying they wouldn't go is a very worrying figure.

However, it might be worth Coventry trying to get some feedback from non-forum folk and those not on social media

you suggested to do a poll on social media now after I told you the result you have moved the goal posts

  9. Has the Coventry promotion done any market research to establish how many people will watch their team at Leicester?

Some initial work would help them see if there is a 'base' crowd which would sustain NL racing.

Of course, you cannot guarantee people will go but I'm sure a bit of work on social media, plus using their friends at the Coventry Observer, would be a worthwhile exercise.

The observer done a poll to see who would go to Leicester and who would not on the Scs Facebook page I think it was 80% said they would not go

  10. How does this topic prove anything. 90 percent of speedway fans I know, either don't know about this forum or have no interest in using it. All this topic shows is there is 20 or so Bees fans proving they are not fans.

Rubbish so I'm not a fan 58 years following the Bees and now some one tells me I am not a fan so what constitutes being a fan in your opinion?
