Glasgow do not own Tom.
-
Welcome to Poole Tom! Great signing and was good to catch up and have a chat with him last night, very level headed young man and think he will easily put 1 - 1.5 on his average in 2024.
-
Tom Brennan I guess!
-
The other being a 4.00 pointer
-
So who is the 4 pointer Poole will get! The other 4 are nailed on.
-
So BCP have just released the draft local plan, will go through it and see what the stadium site has for plans!
-
All I’m going to say, if BCP want to sell the site very soon, as in a year or two they will be met by a mass of resistance from locals. The only sporting arena in the heart of the town won’t be easy to get rid of mark my words. All I hear is real estate is what they need to make money, is Poole stadium there only asset? No!
-
Danny Ford on the podcast this week, didn’t rule out moving up to top flight in a year or two. Does not sound like a stadium shutting just yet.
-
If he is at Poole that would mean no Zack.
-
So turning the site into a working community hub isn’t the answer? So much can be done to utilise the stadium and it’s use but it sits empty all winter. If it was put in the right hands it would be a massive attraction for locals and people coming into the area. Look at Oxford! You invest you get your rewards all you need is some to realise that. People saying oh it won’t change anything, with that attitude it won’t, you have to fight to keep the site and you need to do that in numbers. The site could be used for so much, concerts (planning required) boxing events, go karting, Poole town Fc (Bigger speedway track installed) outside of sports a restaurant/cafe hub, Christmas markets the list goes on.

BCP and Osborne will have a fight on there hands if they try and close the stadium. Osborne does not own the land which is a blessing, if he doesn’t want to continue the lease then Mr Ford could take it on and if Mr Ford wishes not to there is other local business people that would take it on. There is plenty of local business people that would take it on and turn it into a multi use facility. I’m very confident BCP will soon back step once knowledge is in the public eye. We went through this at the end of 1995 when the council tried to close the stadium, and thousand of fans turned up at the civic centre which they didn’t expect! Poole’s main sporting event is speedway in the town, that has been here for 75 years, it’s unique and taking that out the town would be a massive mistake. Closing speedway isn’t just a sport it’s a weekly gathering and community for so many people and taking that away will have knock on effects.

Think you will be disappointed then
-
Both Thompson’s at Plymouth and Stake at Glasgow.
-
He would be on a 4.00
-
Tate is a 5.00
-
Not massively excited by Brennan as feel a more balanced team could have been used with his plus 7 average, for example 2 five point riders instead of a 7 and a 3 etc
-
Kyle will not feature next season.

Well done Scunthorpe, well deserved. poor return again from Worrall and Lawson finally getting organised towards the end of the meeting. For 2024 - Lawson, Ben & Zach will likely be our top 3.
