Glasgow v Poole. BSN Series Final 1st Leg 30/6/23
Pirates Of Poole replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This will be a real test to see where we are as a team against Glasgow, let’s hope we keep it close and bring the trophy back to Wimborne road. Will need Worrall & Lawson on it from the start to have any chance. -
Tate, Jack And Zaine

Would guess the Poole management are keeping tabs on Tate and also Rew if an opportunity pops up and schedule allows. -
Oxford v Poole 21/6/23 Championship.
Pirates Of Poole replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done Oxford you wanted it more than some of our riders! I said on Friday at Redcar, we are going to get found out when we start riding against Glasgow/Oxford as we have been carrying too many riders at times during the last month. I’m sure people won’t agree, but still think we are at least 1 maybe 2 changes away from potentially winning the league again. This current team I think will fall just short when it matters. We shall come back fighting! -
Redcar Bears Vs Poole Pirates Championship 16th June
Pirates Of Poole replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
First ever visit to Redcar last night. Fantastic track and fans, very welcoming. Good meeting. Only question I had was heat 14 not having Kyle in for Adam. Kyles previous ride showed he was on the pace and got the set up. Thank fully though Adam took the 1 point. Prep probably not great for Adam who arrived at the track a lot later than the rest of the team who were already out on the track walk. Great win for the pirates. Special mention to Lawson who was brilliant all night. -
Plymouth Gladiators Vs Poole Pirates Championship 6/6 23
Pirates Of Poole replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great performance from the engine room of the team yet again. Cooks and Newman absolutely riding above there current averages. Concern for Lawson and his injury surely it would make sense for him to take some time off as currently a shadow of the rider last year. Worrall again is a concern but on the plus side, the way it’s going he will be at reserve maybe. -
Poole v Oxford KOC Semi 2nd leg 31st May
Pirates Of Poole replied to stevehone's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Lawson is certainly carrying an injury and it shows, but a great team effort again and the Cooks and reserves come to our rescue. Steve’s home form is a massive concern, can’t beat any away teams heat leaders consistently all season. Hope he can get it sorted otherwise our luck will run out when riders making up for him have an off night. -

POOLE V PLYMOUTH, K.O.Cup, 1st leg Weds 3/05/23
Pirates Of Poole replied to Skidder1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hoping Steve can get going as can’t seem to get any consistency with his scores. Certainly when up against teams big hitters he can’t do it currently. The way it’s going Lawson will be at 1 and Ben at 5 with Steve at 3 at some point. I know averages don’t count currently but fingers crossed he can get himself sorted. -

Any live feeds for this meeting likely? -
He will need to hit the ground running otherwise can see changes very early. Hope I’m wrong but think he will struggle in the main part of team. Will drop to reserve but team wise I would hope the main team at the start of season keep the pace and stay in the main body of the team keeping Newman & Roynon at reserve most of season.

Welcome to Poole Anders Rowe!
-
Still can’t see Danny planning changes in May even before the season has started, that was my point! We have other competitions we would go out of early on.
-
With the shorter league fixtures we need to hit the ground running otherwise the season will be finished by the end of August! So thoughts of changes in May I would be surprised.
-
Would be great, but don’t think this will happen.

Welcome to Poole, Adam

Kyle Newman number 6

I would expect to hear something within the next couple of hours reference signing number 6. But I could be wrong

Great! Nothing massively exciting about the Poole team in 2023. Will do fine but nothing that makes you think wow! I will never forget 2017 when Kyle decided to ride against us for Swindon in PO semi final. Glasgow are the stand our team, a very exciting team for the fans to watch on the terraces. They will be seeing a lot of over taking and riders on the boards, great entertainment for the supporters.
