    Leicester NL 2019

1.Kemp 2.3 pointer 3.Ruddick 4.Halder 5.Thomas 6.Thompson 7.Thompson With Kemp riding with Sheffield and having the same owner I wonder if he will be in the NL team. Also with Thomas signing for Leicester in the CH,it would be a good thing for him to get more track time perhaps? Looks a really solid line up with full of potential imo

    KENT 2019

With Drew likely to do all 3 leagues I'd say it's unlikely he will be with you if you're running a Monday. With him riding for Sheffield and with Leicester having the same owner,I think there's a big chance he will be in their NL team tbh

Give them a chance. I'm sure they do have lives lol

    2019 NL Season

That's the issue.Think I counted 23 riders on over an 8 average in the NL.Well over half will miss out of getting more experience from this level.Teams are going to be left with riders on a 5 point average who have been in the league for years as a 3rd heat leader.Hardly the way to bring people though the turnstiles.I want to see the likes of Smith who are progressing rather than riders who have stayed the same level for years. The NL is going to be a poorer product next season that's for sure

    Sheffield 2019

Well if he was Easbourne bound something obviously wasn't quite right if Sheffield have just come in and snapped him up from under their noses that's all I will say.Either way,i think Sheffield is a better move for Drew long term.Has had a season around Mildenhall, the bigger track will suit him.He flew around BV this year (clocked a faster time than the Premiership ht1 time the week before) so the big track is no issue for him.He will love it there I'm sure

    Sheffield 2019

After the "incident" at Eastbourne this season I think it's highly unlikely that Drew would have ended up there tbh.Great signing for Sheffield.Drew is a huge talent
  7. No.They offered another date a few weeks later but we were unable to make that due to other fixtures I believe
  8. STATEMENT FROM MILDENHALL SPEEDWAY - Statement from Mildenhall Speedway – Eastbourne v Mildenhall National League fixture Friday 26th October With the recent comments on social media and in some areas of the press concerning the Eastbourne v Mildenhall fixture which was cancelled on Friday, the club wish to make the following statement. The original National League fixture between the two clubs scheduled for 14th July was called off by the host club some 48 hours prior to the fixture date due to a football match! This act caused considerable costs to our travelling fan base who had booked a mini bus to travel to Eastbourne for this meeting and in some cases hotels. When we next visited Eastbourne on 21st October this fixture was in their programme as provisional, and that evening we advised Eastbourne we would be unable to confirm that date due to work commitments. We advised Eastbourne that we could most likely bring an acceptable team on the following Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday but were told this was not possible due to the fence being packed away, although the season does not end until Wednesday (it should be noted we have to put up and pack down our fence after most meetings!). The reasons for our unavailability on the 26th October was as follows, Danny Ayres and Jordan Jenkins had suffered season ending injuries, Ryan Kinsley and Josh Bailey who are both in full time employment at garages in Norfolk were unable to get time off work and Drew Kemp had college followed by a long standing event to attend for his contracted club Ipswich. Kevin Jolly contacted 27 riders in an attempt to put together a viable team but to no avail, riders were either working, packed up for the season or did not want the meeting. An official of the SCB also tried to help with the search for riders but he was unable to source suitable riders either. We would also question why Eastbourne are allowed to have three league fixtures outstanding after the Play Off final. It has been our understanding that a club should be offered three dates to choose from for a fixture, this has not been the case and we have been unable to obtain a satisfactory reason as to why this was not the case in this instance. It was not our intention to send a weakened team to this meeting and other dates were offered by us. It should be noted that at the annual meeting to discuss fixtures Mildenhall’s representatives put forward a strong case that fixtures should be more structured with the National trophy being completed by July, the KO Cup by August and the League (including playoffs) by the end of September. This was clearly ignored, and in all cases Mildenhall have been left awaiting their opposition in the season’s finals after completing their meetings in a timely manner. We are disappointed by the attacks on Mildenhall Speedway which have attempted to besmirch the clubs fine name and hope this statement clarifies the situation in a more considered manner.
  9. Thing is Bob as I'm sure you are aware the few riders who said they'd ride for us at Plymouth last year as a guest wanted a stupid amount of money to do so.We stuck to our budget and what we can afford. What do you suppose we do? Other clubs paying silly then makes the rider think that is the going rate.
  10. In the NL a rider can be missing for any reason. We had lads with work commitments. If they can't ride, they can't ride.It wasn't like we told Eastbourne on the day that we couldn't get a team together. They knew about it What about compensation for the fans who had booked hotels and travel for the fixture that got cancelled for the footy??
  11. You have just confirmed from saying this what an absolute idiot you are
  12. I don't think it's sour grapes fwiw. We said ahead of the meeting last night that we didn't have any of lads available bar 1.If we couldn't get anyone for the playoff final on a Sunday,we were never likely to get guests for a Friday night tbh. I've said elsewhere even last night Kinsley didn't get to the track until near on 7 due to work commitments. It should never have come down to having to run the meeting this eve anyway.Calling the original off for the footy was a poor decision.I could have watched the game at home, travelled over 2 hours to Eastbourne and still watched the meeting. Congrats to Eastbourne who were the better team over the 2 legs of both league and koc. Can only think of what could have been had we had our full 7 out. I guess we will never know. Regardless of any results I'm now more concerned that last night was the last time we will see Mildenhall in existence. Hope a buyer can be found but I have very slim hopes unfortunately
  13. So many riders were tried but they're either riding elsewhere, don't want the booking or have packed up for the winter.Very, very few options available to us

    NLRC

I've no idea what meeting they were watching if they've said that.It took until heat 8 for a pass and that was bend 2 lap 1.Riders following each other around basically hoping for a mistake.Riders bouncing all over the place and being shot right across the bend. How they avoided each other at times I'll never know.

    NLRC

Awful meeting.Track was terrible.Riders were riding around just managing to stay on at times.£16 for any sort of NL standard meeting is a joke.£2.50 for an awful programme also.A 2 sentence write up on each rider,a scorecard and adverts on 5 sheets of a4 folded and stapeled.Done quickly, cheap and cheerful. Will be my last visit there. Not worth the money in the slightest. No wonder their crowds are down if that's what it's like every week. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

How have the young guns done in 2018.?

That's fair enough but he still meets every rider, the same as Brennan/Hume.Kinsley also went straight to number 1 for 4 meetings.Granted he struggled slightly but has had a cracking season overall.2 big scores at Kent and was on track for a max against Cradley if you take out the Stoke and Buxton meetings.Certainly done beyond what I think anyone was expecting including himself. It's amazing what a bit of confidence can do for a rider

How have the young guns done in 2018.?

Interesting what you say about Kinsley away from home.Has a higher away average than Hume and Brennan. There aren't many 2nd strings who have an average of 7.5 lol

Weather improving ahead of tomorrow.Fingers crossed the rain holds off

    Mildenhall v Birmingham

Still looks pretty bad to me.Rain expected most of the night and through the morning. That along with stocks tonight could destroy the track.By the time the rain is supposed to stop the damage I suspect may have already been done. The excellent track staff will have their work cut out to get the track into any sort of state imo

Whoever told you that is talking out of their arse

Mildenhall v Brummies NL Sat 9th Aug

No the fence was left up from the previous week.Track has been very consistent this year.Track looked spot on last night. Rubbish.I guess you've been to visit regularly this season? The track has been incredibly consistent and isn't any more dangerous than plenty of others.Bad injuries happen at every track you visit. With regards to this year, until this meeting we have had 3 injury withdrawals.2 were Bebee and Bailey who crashed together going into bend 1 and the other was Alcock who was hit by his team mate also on bend 1.

Mildenhall v Brummies NL Sat 9th Aug

We had medical cover but had to wait for 2 county ambulances for both crashes unfortunately. With the 2nd ambulance likely to take a while to come they took Tom off to hospital in the ambulance at the track.Right decision to call the meeting off.Best wishes to both Sam and Tom.2 really bad crashes tonight.Speedy recovery to both
