I think they were probably spooked by the yellow weather warning but they've essentially cancelled the meeting because if a 60% chance of showers, always a good chance it was going to stay dry.

When I last looked the % chance was around the 80 mark. With the distance the Workington fans/riders were travelling it wasn't worth the risk.

West Row does seem to have its own micro climate. I've been coming along the road to the track and it's been chucking it down. Get to the track and nothing.

Very limited options even with almost 2 points spare. Bebee would fit for Watson and Kingston would fit in place of Freeman (haven't counted if a double switch fits). Berwick have been fortunate Halder has started the year well but theres a couple of passengers in the side.

Bebee won't be an option. Still struggling after a crash last season

  3. We can't help how the weather effects the track at the end of the day. The track staff didn't choose to have it how it was yesterday. A massive downpour the day before soaked the track. They did a great job to get it to the condition it was. The previous week there were no issues so fingers crossed with a bit of luck with the weather it will go back to that again

Mildenhall stock car , sorry speedway track AGAIN providing poor entertainment, long delays and causing injury and expensive repair bills,

This is not the first time the Mildenhall track has had problems. Surely with so many rider collisions, falls and delays the referee has reported that the tracK wasn’t fit for racing at NDL level

If it was that dangerous would he have not called it off??

The ref has the final say no?

“Also by putting the start time back an hour to 4pm we will have more time for track preparation to cope with the range of weather conditions that can affect a speedway track – more time to dry out if that’s needed, and more time to deal with a dry track in the heat of summer.”

While that all makes sense, what if you've got a dry day but rain forecast from 5pm? While it's not ideal for fans planning ahead, being able to change the start team each week depending on the weather might help get meetings on?

You can't help the weather. Impossible to keep chopping and changing the start

The Fen Tigers 2023 team is complete!

The Mildenhall DJS Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery are very pleased to announce that the final part of their 2023 team is 18 year old North Walsham racer William Richardson. William was a regular during 2021 practising at the club after meetings and took his place in the U21 Semi Final as an unattached rider in April 2022. After making an excellent start in his opening race he was clipped by another rider which resulted in a season ending leg injury.

Now fully fit and raring to go the Norfolk youngster is determined to make a success of this opportunity. Everyone at the club will be fully supporting William as he makes his initial steps in league racing. William starts thason on a 3 point average.

Let's give William a massive Fen Tiger family welcome!

  7. We are very happy announce that the sixth rider joining the Mildenhall DJS Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery for a second season following his excellent year with us in 2022 will be JOSH WARREN!

Josh started the season as a three point reserve but nearly doubled his average raising it to 5.79 and cementing a place in the main body of the side! The 22 year old Peterborough based rider proved extremely popular with the supporters both on and off the track and we look forward to welcoming him back this season and progressing again.

When speaking to Josh about the possibility of coming back to Mildenhall he said 'of course ...snap me in half and I'm Fen Tigers through and through'. That was good enough for us!!

  8. The Mildenhall DJS Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, are pleased to anounce their fifth signing for the 2023 season.

It's a warm welcome back for 2019 Fen Tiger ARRAN BUTCHER. He also signed for the Fen Tigers for 2021 but a pre season injury saw him unfortunately miss out. 22 year old Arran spent the 2022 season at Oxford in the National Development League putting 1.36 on his average and we feel confident that Arran can increase his average again back at Mildenhall.

Arran has made it quite clear he sees this as a big season & that speedway is his main priority. He will start the season in one of the reserve berths but is looking to push for a place in the main body of the team. Arran joins us on a 4.36 average.

Of the same opinion all for commonwealth riders getting a spot to fill the spots so to speak on those higher averages. But this is taking advantage of the system and is very poor imo.

I know there’s a rider not been announced by another team who’s coming in on double his championship average. Roynon last year came in on double his so the question needs to asked and answered from either Mildenhall themselves or the BSPA.

Why would Mildenhall need to answer why he's on a 4.5? I'd imagine the club asked what his average will be. They've then said what they have. We've signed him on that average within the rules set. Any club would have done the same.

  10. Ready to fire for the Fen Tigers, it's time to pull the trigger ...

Our fourth signing for the 2023 season is 16 year old former British 500cc Youth Champion Ben Trigger.

Hailing from Plymouth Ben started his National Developement League career during the 2021 season with Leicester averaging 3.57. He then moved to his home town club for the 2022 season making big strides and putting 2.43 onto his average to record a 6 point season average.

He will double up with Plymouth in the Championship for 2023 and big things are expected from this stylish youngster. We are very pleased to have Ben join the Mildenhall DJS Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery and look forward to seeing him develop further at Mildenhall this year. Let's give Ben a big Fen Tiger welcome!

  11. Commonwealth Star to join Fen Tigers septet!

Joining Alfie and Lee in the main body of the 2023 Mildenhall DJS Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, is New Zealander George Congreve.

23 year old George was the New Zealand U21 Champion in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and rode for Newcastle in the Championship in 2022 before they closed early in the season. George also rode on the Isle of Wight with considerable success!

George joins the Fen Tigers on an attractive 4.50 average and we are confident he will prove an exciting addition to the team and will receive a warm welcome from supporters. George is due to arrive in the UK early in March.

  12. WOW!!!

The reaction to Alfie was more positive than we could ever have imagined. Thank you.

So much so we would like to introduce his partner at the top of the team and the new Mildenhall DJS Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, Captain for 2023.

He was brilliant on and off the track when guesting for us last season and is in our opinion the most exciting rider in the league.

Coming in on a 7.27 average it's a massive Fen Tiger welcome to LEE COMPLIN

  13. Alfie Bowtell is a Fen Tiger again!

Returing to the Mildenhall DJS Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, for the first time since 2017 is our new Number One for 2023 ALFIE BOWTELL

Bowtell had a sensational 2022 season finishing second in the NDL averages (behind Max Clegg) on 10.67, whilst securing a 4.39 average with his Championship team, Plymouth. This season Alfie will be riding for Birmingham as well as the Fen Tigers and we couldn't be happier to welcome him to back to Mildenhall!
