Agreed Steve......its been a great magazine and VSM before it......I echo your thoughts that it can continue.

Split......or rather Squire Waterman got his nickname when he bent over and split his leathers all the way down......he was originally nicknamed Split Arse but Split remained until the end!

Modern day rarity is Poole 1958 England v Australasia Test match, it never ran and the programmes were never released except for a few that were mailed out before the event, I know of only 6 in existence. All have a fold down the center where they were put in envelopes for mailing. This one can go for as high as 200 quid.

Better know as 19 February 1928, the highest one that has sold is 5000 quid. Next is probably Celtic Park at just over 1000. Closest is my collection is the Warrington England v The Rest for 900.

You are such an ar*e John.....why are you posting this on every thread possible. I used to have respect for you, it has now drained completely away, all you seem to want to do is destroy every thread, promote your own sites and generally try to p**s people off. Well congratulations you have succeeded.....now please go way!

Pretty well any Pre-War programme.....they are full of information, some of them great graphics. Not all of them of course, especially in the early days as they were just a four page card. The internationals of the pre-war days were always special, which is why I collected those all my life.

    Premiership Pairs

Looks like the programme is actually cheaper by .50p....that would be a shock! Checking out the programme on Curtis-sports.

    Favourite Memorabilia

YES! It does become a bit of an obsession but its fun doing it most of the time at long as it doesn't get out of control.

    Favourite Memorabilia

The three pre-war and the 61 fetch good prices these days the '36 went for over 300 quid recently.

    Favourite Memorabilia

Most of my memorabilia is programmes, mainly British Internationals dating back to 1928, love the pre-war one's. If anyone is interested you can see most of my collection (although this site has not been updated for several years) here. http://www.internationalspeedway.co.uk/unitedkingdom.htm Just click through them, I have all these programmes in my collection.
  20. Wish I was going but too far to go for a day! I went to the first in 1964 and nearly every meeting there after that.

    Bonny Good

Bonny Good, never heard of him, may have emigrated to Canada but he most definitely did not compete at Speedway in the early '50's as there wasn't any Speedway or tracks in the Toronto area. Speedway didn't come back until 1959 in Dundas, again far from Toronto area. There have never been tracks in the Toronto area since the old Ulster stadium of the 1930's......Ulster Stadium closed in 1943 for development.

    STEVE BOLE, EASTBOURNE, 1954

Steve Bole, who had a brilliant one season with Eastbourne in their SAL days, then surprisingly quit racing at the end of 1954. Guess who wrote that? I guess he only had one season in Eastbourne then quit at the end of 1954......nothing else to know I presume.

    RON JOHNSON

OK so I have heard from the Expert on Canadian Pre-War Speedway riders and this one got to him too....Here are the two replies I have had from him. "Jim Ferguson was a rider who rode speedway long track and road racing around the time of Chitty and Pepper in Canada. Did not know he was in England racing." "Still, it was little surprise in 1931 when speedway or short track racing was introduced to Canada that Eric was on the quarter-mile track at the old Ulster Stadium in east Toronto, where he shared the honours with Jim Ferguson. Taken from Eric Chitty page on the Canadian hall of fame. I have a photo of Mr Ferguson somewhere in my files." So, not much at all known about this rider, I will post the photo if my friend finds it!

    RON JOHNSON

Unlikely there could be two, so I would say its a good possibility.......I'll keep checking!
