Feel sorry for all those who travelled for the meeting but just looking at the weather forecast showed it was going to be hit and miss.
Truth is the forecasters despite all the fancy gear they have just cannot forecast for localised areas like a speedway track unless it is a blanket rainfall situation.
We nearly cancelled an outing last nite because of the forecast and there wasn't a drop of rain all evening!
Also how about all those frustrated holidaymakers at Heath Row yesterday waiting for flights that had been cancelled because the forecast predicted severe thunderstorms for 2 hours. As it turned out would be travellers were hanging around watching the skies and there wasn't a cloud to be seen!
Elite racing wouldn't produce anything better than this, in fact pretty boring compared with PL racing, too few teams in the league, too many foreign riders, too many "from the gate" IMHO.
Can't wait to see if Lee can turn it on again for us at Stoke tomorrow.
A treat in store looking at the two line ups, never mind EL racing.

Good old days at Blackbird road but no one can remember the name of the marching tune the track staff and riders used to march out to.
Disappointed to say the least as i'd like to download it and blast it out to reminisce.

Off topic, but does anyone know the signature tunes of the Hunters, the riders marched out to?
Driving me round the bend but it's not the post horn gallop or imperial echoes.
Help please - I want to download it to remind me of these good old days
