I meant it as a cold statistic - which is factually and mathmatically correct. As part of the championship would not be crazy to say the least.

I dont suppose there would be 24 pages of comment on the refs decision if this had been the first GP of the season - yet it would have had the same effect on the World Championship result.

I think the shape of the last track had a lot to do with the standard of racing rather than the class of the riders. It looked incredibly awkward to ride - does anyone agree??

Lionel was involved with Iwade as long ago as 1976 - and possibly before. He used to write the times the riders at the practise sessions on a blackboard with chalk. I dont recall him ever mentioning having been a rider. steve

Pretty sure the flood was September 68. There used to be markers on the wall showing the water depth - wonder if they are still there . . . Re the trophy meetings - cant remember if it was the Internationale or the Laurels - but there was a very nice large shield presented to the winner - but it was usually kept at the stadium in a cabinet afterwards.
