Wimbledon ages ago around 1967 grass track sidecars - and a guy got killed. Also go-karts. I remember live music in the grandstand bar after the meeting - once.

And they managed it. You have to appreciate ALL aspects of the sport, but mostly the control - even when control seems impossible. The power of the bikes these days does make it physically impossible, which is why they can't race on dirt...
You must be pretty old to remember deep dirt at Wimbledon.

Maybe that was an unreliable legend.

Does anyone know what modifications Howard Cole made to the JAP engine - such that he had new timing covers made with his name on it ??
Maybe around 1970...

Worst meeting I have ever seen - sometimes more passing in just one race at Belle Vue. Track needs more banking I reckon.

Seriously, sort of, I'm reminded of the chap who puts a perfectly good fridge on his front lawn with a sign saying free to a good home. After a week he'd had no takers. A mate offered some advice and as a result he changed the sign to say £50. The next morning the fridge had gone.
They can have the car too! - Interesting idea about the price - If I put it on the lawn - people wouldnt know what it is! I guess everybody uses vans now - even juniors.
Before buying the rack - I used to put the bike INSIDE a Peugeot 205 - so this was a big improvment for me...

It seems not Ray - I have put it on gumtree also. It would suit other types of bike too. I would rather not take it to the tip. I may try Ebay...

Coventry City Council has granted outline planning permission for a residential development of up to 2,400 homes on the west of the city centre.
Does this make residential development of the site less likely??

I think when the Russians came over in (maybe) 1965 at Wimbledon - Plechanov and Samoradov scored significantly more than the rest of the team put together.

Sorry - I meant plainly obvious that he has age related health issues.

I thought that was plainly obvious.

Do your remember a yard of ale competition - I think Reg Luckhurst took part - around 1969.

OK for riders to go to North Korea then...

Nigel Rackett rode at the same period as Gordon Kennett - around 1970/71.

Penny farthing at Eastbourne - around 1970 - one of the riders broke collar bone falling off.

Fantastic video - at 22.15 he stops so suddenly - it seems as if he has used a brake.

I think Matchams Park was running - maybe for just a year - around 1970. I visited once.

Not popular to be next to in the pits - I was told...

Under - sounds like non compliance with fire regs.

Have the council done sound tests??
