    Scunthorpe v Glasgow

Plenty of spare dates available with only having 14ish home meetings. Date now arranged for July 28th so, hopefully, will be warm enough. Come and join us with you missing speedway that much & air your grievances face to face with Godfrey rather than sticking the knives in on a forum.
  2. Scunthorpe used to race on a Friday then moved to Sunday for a few years then back to a Friday. Why did it shaft Edinburgh? They have been a Friday track for years! Changing of track marking by referees, I would have thought it would be a SCB issue & not a BSPA. Please, name the issues?
  3. Has the track work been started? They were waiting for a road grader not long ago!

Born April 2004! They are only 15!

One is out for a while as he is not down to represent us in the "Fours"

    Belle Vue Colts 2019

Palin's average has increased from 2.00 to 9.45 based on 4 meetings & Phillips average has increased from 6.75 to 7.29 which must be a rolling average!
  7. Especially as this was the write up on the weekly round ups a day later. IPSWICH “David rode really well tonight and it was a track we expected him to go well on. He needs to perform like that on Thursday and be a bit more consistent, but he was great tonight.” Witches boss Ritchie Hawkins was encouraged by a good showing from French star David Bellego in Monday’s narrow defeat at Belle Vue from which the Suffolk side took a league point.

    Belle Vue Colts 2019

19.7.1.1 says " A Team’s Declaration (initial and re-declared) is 36.00 with a minimum MA of 2.00. A maximum of two 2.00 riders are permitted per team." It is about Declarations & team changes & not a rolling average. Everything above board as far as I can see. Similar happenings at Cradley I see.

Two meetings next Friday according to the fixtures. Redcar v Eastbourne & now the rearranged Scottish Open at Edinburgh.

    Belle Vue Colts 2019

A few riders are changing their averages from 10/6 & one of them, Jordan Palin goes from 2.00 to 9.45 & is now their no1.
  11. Roles reversed from Sunday then, pinched a win from the jaws of a defeat & now a loss in the later stages. Swings & roundabouts.

    Scunthorpe v Glasgow

But it is totally wrong as the ISLB decided designated race nights for 2019 only for tv rights to change them, for monetary rights, and mess up riders whereabouts for financial gains,

Honestly, and this has nothing to do with THJ, as I admire as a poster, you really are the pits of a speedway supporter with the replies that you post at times. Engage brain , if you have one.

WTF is this reply. Parents follow the dreams of their kids, hoping to survive but to make a killing at a young age you have to be truly gifted.

    Scunthorpe v Glasgow

I know but in our CL, Friday is a designated race night so the Danes should use a squad member as it NOT their designated race night.

    Scunthorpe v Glasgow

So Danish race night is a Wednesday & they still get priority over the CL on a Friday

    Sheffield 2019

"Obviously not much else to do in Scunthorpe when they have to come on a Sheffield thread. " Do you not participate on other threads, yourself? What a poster pointed out was a spelling mistake but many make the same error. Similarly, Godfrey is not the "chief" but a member of the BSPA & Vice Chairman but seems to be last years & this years spokesperson. If the BSPA had someone to take over the media matters then Chapman, Godfrey, Bates et al would not be mentioned in most posts. If only

    Scunthorpe v Glasgow

It was said last week that Jake had responded to physio & would be ok for Monday(yesterday). Obviously 2 meetings in 2 days has took its toll & will sit out Thursday. Of the 2 meetings later this week, I would expect Jake to make more money riding Thursday than Friday so I can see him sitting both out.

    Sheffield v Scunny 02/06/19

........ but Kemp escapes criticism! You knew when you signed him that you were getting the best 2 pointer available but also knew that he had over a 4.75 average from 7 meetings last year for Ipswich & after 1 away meeting would move into the main body. We, also, had a no1 & ex Sheffield rider only scoring 4 points

Probably elation & relief rather than kicking off.

    Sheffield v Scunny 02/06/19

Well that was a meeting we through away as with the guests available, I thought we were stronger than Sheffield & would win convincingly but we could not pull away as our fans would have expected more from Auty(possibly struggling with engines after having to have them sorted a few weeks back) but probably, & have, the Sheffield fans expecting more from their riders. We through away points in heat 2 when the track possibly greasy, Bowtell went into the airbag at bend 3 when 3rd of 3 riders & couldn't free himself(although his mechanic struggled to restart his bike returning to the pits). Ayres & Auty did well to pass Kemp in heat 5. Then towards the end of the meeting, I thought we still had the riders available to pull us through. First chance Sheffield got to use the TS in heat 12 was used to good effect as even though Douglas rode a good 1st bend to part block King on the outside he then found the speed to pass Proctor out of bend 2 to lead & stay there. Heat 13 Kurtz had a cracking gate for the Tigers to be on a 5-1 with Auty in 3rd who seemed to stop Allen's run into bend 1 lap 2 from which he never recovered then probably his engine was going as he finished the race. Heat 14 we exited bend 2 on the 1st lap on a 5-1 then Bowtell clipped the fence forcing a stoppage. Sods law then came in to it as even though Nielsen gated, Nicol produced a lovely outside move to lead & not look back. King & Kurtz were the obvious choices for Sheffield in heat 15 & I thought we would go with Allen & Douglas. Looking into the pits there seemed to be a lot of conversations between riders & with Auty not up to speed & Allen's obvious engine problem now evident then Douglas & Ayres were the obvious 2 & I still thought, at worst, we would get a 3-3 but, again, Kurtz did a cracking job. Although very disappointed not to get a win, there was a bit more entertainment from the racing I have seen for a while at Sheffield. On a side note, Rob Godfrey must have been very disappointed with the result as he normally passes me on the M18 or M180 but last night he passed me on the A630.

I said that in the last part of that sentence.

Rain radar has showers till around 5 & blowing to Scunthorpe & we have had the first of them. Just drizzle but enough to cause puddles. I used to keep an eye on the roads around the stadium via the traffic camera opposite the stadium near the Pizza Hut. This site has closed now though.

    Berwick v Newcastle Ko Cup

He's your rider so you should be behind him all the way(& I don't mean with a big boot). We told everybody & even before the cut off deadline for signing riders, that he should go & was slated for it but we were saying he is not good enough for the CL People were saying give him a chance as he has come back from a bad accident. Well, it is a year later & he is not good enough. He has not the brains to stand down himself, knowing he is hurting the team with his low/no scores, as it will hamper his place in the NL. Just get used to it.

    Scunthorpe 2019

I wouldn't bring in List even though posters have said he looks a tidy rider in 2nd halves, he has been slow(at Newcastle it was said he was 1 second a lap, probably as slow as Phillips), even though he had a good meeting at Sheffield, the opposition was not terribly high. Wilko again I would not bring in as he has not raced this year. Ostergaard proving he is on a downward spiral with his machinery poorly prepared. Aarnio would have been ideal but a week too late as has been snapped up by Birmingham. Could we go back to Lyager and is he still a 7 as foreign riders assessed averages have changed. Lambert or Coles could be a 2nd addition.
