  1. Plymouth, on the other hand, with guests galore. Could be a case of Holder, Nielsen and Perks from their starting 7, one R/R and 3 guests if Simota was ruled out. Can only see a home win
  2. I am pretty sure Newman won't be riding due to his broken collarbone. Steve Worrall is guesting for Brady Kurtz on Saturday night (GP Qualifier) so would presume it will be another guest on Sunday evening.
  3. Thought the ref didn't do much wrong tonight at all. There was only one marginal pull back, the others were spot on. Not sure if the rules allow for it, but thought Rose was harsly excluded in 12. Effectively, he was the cause of the stoppage, but Lambert's entrance into bend 3 left a lot to be desired and didn't give Rose a lot of choice. Not seen all of the SKY matches this year, but thought this match was one of the better ones on TV in a while. Some good racing when the track settled down, a few cracking moves, and a close score throughout. Happy enough with that. The only down side is the form of Batchelor. I know he has his critics, I know his people skills are sometimes a bit lacking, but seeing someone who can potentially be so good ride so poorly is a sad sight. It's a shame he and Lambert can't switch positions. Now more than ever Batchelor needs a run out against reserves to build up some confidence again. There was actually a few times during the night when I felt his heart wasn't totally in it. Shame to see. Congrats to Coventry - worthy winners. Could be a late challenge to the play-offs if this result can kick start their season.
  4. Confirmed as broken collarbone by Keith (Newman)
  5. Todd was hobbling about in the pits after his last race, so presumably he turned it down
  6. Some clips are available here: http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/video-thrills-and-spills-from-plymouth-devils-v-edinburgh-monarchs/story-29419002-detail/story.html
  7. Chain snapped coming out of bend 4, lap 2, Newman right on his tail and whilst he did his best he couldn't quite avoid whacking him on the head with his backwheel. Masters a lucky boy, and everyone was relieved to see him get up. Palm Toft was indeed poor, surprised he got a 4th ride to be honest, but whether he or Chessell got that ride wouldn't make much difference. Don't think Mr Happy will be calling on Palm Toft's services again anytime soon though. On the plus side for your lot, Bewley was competitive and often in the mix, and Riss was never far off either. He looked much better than what I saw of him in Italy last year, whilst Wolbert was exceptional.
  8. Masters luckiest rider in Speedway tonight. That could have been so so so much worse. His helmet certainly did its job. Probably will have a bit of a headache tomorrow I imagine!
  9. It's a Friday and Swindon will be needing 4 guests, or 3 plus R/R!
  10. Heeps, Tungate and Nielsen from last year's side all seem to be enjoying much improved seasons elsewhere too. You have to wonder what the reason is. Or is it a coincidence?

    Future Of British Speedway?

There was a piece in the Speedway Star about a testing of a new 6-man race format. Wonder if it is something similar to this format?
  12. On the plus side, it was good to see Mike Bennett at Speedway again! I didn't think the track was that bad, to be honest. It was far from brilliant, but if you got out of the start and could attack the track & dictact your own lines, it seemed to be fine. The racing was far from brilliant, but that was probably more to do with the Glasgow riders flying from the start more often than not. In fact, there were a few times yesterday when it made me think of Exeter. I don't know if that was because Glasgow were so sharp or whether a few of the Plymouth side had the complete wrong set-up, who knows! At least it was a sunny day with no crashes! (IIRC...)

Swindon Robins V Leicester Lions 02/06

Do you REALLY think the others were not trying?
  14. He's at Swindon tomorrow night
  15. Enjoyable meeting, but you always felt that Wolves lacked a little firepower; could perhaps carry 1 or 2 iffy performances, but Wolves had too many tonight. I do think Lakeside gets bit of an unfair bad reputation, it's not a bad little track, and generally does have a few different racing lines, which is what you need. Clearly when you have someone like Jonsson missing the gate on a regular basis, it helps with the entertainment. It was just a shame SKY missed the Kennett/Bridger drama, if anything did happen there!
  16. Doesn't a FTR have to be at #7?
  17. You obviously didn't go to Plymouth last week; Barker did not take Fisher out. Fisher crashed because he reared up coming out of bend 2 and slammed into the fence.

    Swindon - Kings Lynn 19.5.16

I have no idea, not privy to that sort of information, but at least the tractor was working this week!

    Swindon - Kings Lynn 19.5.16

Track was like quicksand in places. If you hit it at the wrong time/place, you could go flying in the wrong direction, just ask Tungate! Hopefully he and Lambert aren't feeling too sore today.
  20. The response given was "it's the luck of the draw"

    Peterborough Panthers 2016

Isn't it only 2 DU in the top 5?
  23. It's only top 7 per semi.
