Just to be clear if zmarzlik wins the final and janowski comes last then poland will win it if they have a better head to head against the other team in the final

Wrong I am afraid. From the SON regulations, notice the emphasis on Team and not rider -

The winning team of the Grand Final heat will become 2021 SoN champions. The losing team of the Grand Final heat will become 2021 SoN Runner up. The losing team of the Grand Final Qualifier heat will become 2021 SoN Third Place.

The only time head to head comes into the equation is prior to Heats 43 and 44

  2. Good meeting tonight. Being a Pirates fan now living in Nottingham it's only a 40 minute drive so was not going to miss this. Enjoyed seeing Basso for the first time - quite a distant last in his first ride but obviously sized the track up after his first outing and was quick thereafter. Certainly not a dull rider but could do with reigning it in a bit as proven in heat 10 when he took out Zaine Kennedy. Stevie W and Rooboy were quick and Poole's top scorers but the rider who impressed me the most was Danyon Hume. Stand up and take a bow young man. A Rising Star riding at number 2 and he was simply superb - definitely the rider of the night for me :t::cheers:

  3. From the BSPA website. Read it as Poole cannot pick Glasgow -

PLAY-OFF PICTURE - HOW IT WORKS
    - The quarter-finals will consist of the 3rd v 6th placed team and 4th v 5th placed team, the top two teams will go direct to the semi-final.
    - The team who finishes top will have the pick of the quarter-final winners in the semi-finals.
    - All ties are over two legs.

Was looking at the prices for "The Hundred" earlier... which no matter how much they try and hype it is still cricket.

    Under 5's free

    6-15's a fiver

    Adults from a tenner

At least there's always something going on at the cricket... I'm typing this as the tractor is doing its umpteenth lap at Leicester!

I was at the double header today at Trent Bridge. £14 for two matches with some decent cricket, resident DJ and live music throughout the day - there was a similarity with the speedway as the sound system in the Yu Energy Stand wasn't great :D At least it meant that I didn't hear too much of the modern day "music"! Certainly good VFM.

How poor are the update people at Poole I’m speedway updates? Bellego has 3 points and King 0..... sure it’s the other way round.... and it says premiership rather than supporters cup....

still a good start for us let’s see if we can keep it up

Heat 5 was 4-2 and according to updates so was heat 6..... yet it says Heeps 2nd and Lawson 3rd so a 3-3? Yet Lawson isn’t even in heat 6........

whats the point of having an updates site that is wrong every race almost!

The updater is taking this from the Poole Twitter feed and the rider scores by heat are correct but have been transposed incorrectly in to the score charts. You cannot blame Poole Speedway for that

Cheers Scott, should be online then, happy days.

Who is that rider in your avatar mate, I keep thinking Eric Broadbelt, although not synonymous with Poole I recall he did ride there for a spell. Or is it Odd Fossengen?

It is the mighty Eric Broadbelt. My first speedway hero when he came to Poole in 1974 - with the Pirates for 4 seasons and can honestly say that I still have not seen a more exciting rider.

...except he's 24    (according to the BSPA website).     DOB 13/11/93

Although having ridden in Aussie U-21 rounds last year seems to say the BSPA have it wrong!

My bad if the BSPA site is correct, although like you I remember him reaching the final in the Aussie U-21s in January this year

Tungate and Jack Holder both over 21.

As I said earlier, I can't think of anyone based in Britain who could be the Aussie's 3rd rider

The only one I can think of is Jordan Stewart who is riding for Redcar this season.

  9. ...remember Gary Glitter's 'Rock 'n' Roll' was often played during American Football matches...one team in particular (can't remember who) but was dropped after allegations were made against him.

That was the New England Patriots. Always remember a snow game against the Dolphins in 2003 when Tedi Bruschi got a pick 6 and the crowd celebrated throwing snow in the air in time with Rock 'n' Roll.
