  2. Redcar v Newcastle matches usually provide good atmosphere and usually decent racing too. Redcar David Bellego R/R for Tobias Busch Hugh Skidmore Jonas B Andersen Lasse Bjerre Jye Etheridge Lee Payne Newcastle Robert Lambert Victor Palovaara Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Steve Worrall Lewis Rose Danny Phillips Although I have posted the teams above I have no idea if they are correct perhaps we will get the line ups confirmed before the match, so if you have any info please post it on the forum. Newcastle pairing at 3 and 4 sees Matej Kus and Ludvig Lindgren. If these two score freely I expect Newcastle to win the match. The Diamonds are after a play off place which seems all but out of reach of the Bears
  3. After a good run in the league pushing us up to 3rd in the league the Diamonds were well beaten at Scunthorpe which is fast becoming our bogey track. However we were tracking 3 guest riders Ricky Wells, Josh Bates and Arthur Sissis for Robert Lambert, Steve Worrall and Lewis Rose so it doesn't make sense to dwell on that defeat. Hopefully on Sunday against league leaders Somerset we will be able to track our strongest team apart from Lewis Rose who could miss the remainder of the season. Newcastle will need to bring someone in for Lewis I am hoping for excellent racing against Somerset with another win by the Diamonds: Newcastle Steve Worrall Victor Palovaara Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Robert Lambert Lewis Rose Guest Danny Phillips Somerset Josh Grajczonek Jake Allen Charles Wright Paul Starke Rohan Tungate Bradley Wilson-Dean Luke Priest (G) Whilst Newcastle's fans want the best for second reserve Danny Phillips his poor form will now affect the team as first reserve Lewis Rose is out injured. Hopefully we can find a bigger scorer in the National League and even if no-one in the NL springs to mind. We need to gamble and bring someone in. My mate Bob Andrews has his grandson over from NZ. Bradley Andrews is riding for Bobs old team Cradley perhaps we should check him out Back to the match on Sunday. Our promoters have a few points to play with so maybe they can book a guest to fill Lewis' shoes that can do the biz for us. Somerset have a great solid side and diamonds fans will be pleased to see our old boy Paul Starke doing so well. I am keen to see Bradley Wilson-Dean as he is emerging as a rider to watch. This match is a must win for Newcastle if we want to finish 2nd in the league
  4. Hi Dandelion I mention the Hopwood situation because if he had been ruled out it would have meant Somerset running with just one reserve and possibly having to complete at least one heat with only one rider which coulda been crucial if the scores were closer. I don't know if I am correct re the Hopwood situation but our stand in team manager could have considered this and decided to allow Somerset the facility as Hopwood was unlikely to affect the outcome of the match result. What the referee thought is anyone's guess, maybe he had not even thought about this possible abuse of the 8 day rule? I agree that this was a great meeting. After heat one I thought, oh no! here we go again. But the lads just did what they have been doing all season and romped away with it after a few 4-2s and 5-1s they settled down and rode out the match in fine style. Somerset should be worrying now about meeting the diamonds home and away. If I was a gambler I know who my money would be on.
  5. Firstly what a cracking nights racing with the Northern Powerhouse proving too strong for a lack lustre Southern side. Forget the score and remember the on track action: plenty passing which is what I pay to see and incidents too (see below). I went home happy 1. Ben Hopwood Although he didn't affect the outcome of the match We wondered if his presence was legitimate as he was at Brough the week before guesting for Edinburgh. Now can someone who knows the rules please advise if he was eligible to appear as a guest for Somerset when just 7 days before he guested for the Monarchs at Brough! 2. Josh Grajczonek In Heat 8 Josh was not programmed as he was Somersets No1. He came in as rider replacement and was nominated for a TR. He won the race as expected and the Rebels scored an 8-1 now what we thought was he might not have been eligible for a TR. The situation was similar to heat 8 of our home match against Peterborough when Ashley Morris came in as a reserve replacement for Emil Grondal and was handed the black n white job as a TR. George English objected and Peterborough were told Morris couldn't be a TR as he wasn't programmed in heat 8. The ruling out of Reserve Morris TR in the Peterborough match and leaving No 1 rider Grajczonek in, in the Somerset match as a TR doesn't make sense so that's your homework for the next week was Grajczonek in heat 8 and Hopwood in the team as a guest correct! I don't know the answers
  6. The sun is out, the ground is drying up! Well 15 miles away from the track it is! The track staff will still working but on a much dryer surface now and all will be fine by 6.30 pm. Let us give new boy Ashley Morris a big welcome and beat the Rebels.
  7. For Somerset fans. The weather in the north east has been poor all weekend with persistent rain, sometimes quite heavy. Forecast says: There will be cloud all day but doesn't mention any more rain and the Sun will put in an appearance at about 7pm. The track will need extra work because of the rain on Saturday and overnight into Sunday. If the match is to be postponed let us hope it is publicised sooner rather than later.
  8. Grand Prix Qualifier I hope Robert makes it back in time for the Somerset match at Brough Park, which is far more important than qualifying for the Grand Prix young Robert!! No! I know how important the GP Meeting is and I wish you a serious amount of Good Luck in the qualifier. Newcastle riders who went on to ride in the GPs include Nicki Pedersen, Bjarne Pedersen & Kenneth Bjerre. It is an achievement in itself for an 18yr old to get to this stage, take your gating gloves with you, you will need to make some great starts. Somerset Match Somerset beat Plymouth home and away last week. I think out of their 20 completed league fixtures they have only been beaten once. They come to us as our sternest challenge of 2016. The Diamonds have a good home record and hopefully we will get a close match with the Diamonds maintaining their unbeaten at home record.
  9. Keep up the good work Tsunami you may just develop a real prospect
  10. Steve Worrall Victor Palovaara Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Robert Lambert Ashley Morris Danny Phillips Ashley is 22yrs of age and from Wolverhampton. Good luck Ashley. May your spark plug never stop sparking
  11. Hi Steve is it a guest for Lewis or as Arson says R/R

Newcastle will need to bring someone in for Lewis I am hoping for excellent racing against Somerset with another win by the Diamonds: Newcastle Steve Worrall Victor Palovaara * Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Robert Lambert Lewis Rose Guest* Danny Phillips * Lewis and Victor were I think about to swap places so maybe Victor will be at number 6 and a guest or R/R at number 2, don't quote me on that as I have lost my grasp on team rules Somerset Josh Grajczonek Jake Allen Charles Wright Paul Starke Rohan Tungate Bradley Wilson-Dean Luke Priest (G) Whilst Newcastle's fans want the best for second reserve Danny Phillips his poor form will now affect the team as first reserve Lewis Rose is out injured. Hopefully we can find a bigger scorer in the National League and even if no-one in the NL springs to mind. We need to gamble and bring someone in. My mate Bob Andrews has his grandson over from NZ. 13. Newcastle v Edinburgh matches have thrown up some excellent contests. This one promises to be a close one! Newcastle Robert Lambert Victor Palovaara Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Steve Worrall Lewis Rose Danny Phillips Edinburgh Sam Masters Mark Riss Erik Riss Ryan Fisher Kevin Wolbert Max Clegg Dan Bewley Looking forward to seeing Dan Bewley who appears to be a hot prospect
  14. Come on Diamonds plus three. Step up to the plate Ludde, Matej, Victor and Danny go like "Bats Outta Hell" Ricky, Josh and Arthur just prove the faith Newcastle's bosses have in you The club that is paying you need results. Sorry Scunthorpe but I think this Newcastle plus three side may just do the business. A close contest with the diamonds winning by the odd point or two. Such a shame when a promoter signs a very good team and then has to book in 3 guests.
  15. So it seems, this match will be about the Newcastle line up maybe as follows: - Ricky Wells (Guest for Robert Lambert) Victor Palovaara Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Josh Bates (Guest for Steve Worrall) Arthur Sissis (Guest for Lewis Rose) Danny Phillips The line up may be correct but if you know better then put me right. I hope both teams will entertain the fans, come away with no injuries and maintain Newcastle's push up the league we will settle for 2nd spot in the table but of course Scunthorpe will prove a stumbling block. I don't know how the 3 guests go around the Scunthorpe track. We Diamonds fans will keep our fingers and toes crossed for at least a point to show for our efforts
  16. In all of this. (Bad crashes Lewis and Dan), but as Dans bike brought down Sam Masters. I would like to say Get well soon Mr Masters (one of my favourite riders) despite him being in that "North of the Border" team. Get well soon to wor Lewis and the Monarchs Dan I also pity the travelling support. The Coachload of Edinburgh Fans were summoned by Barry Wallace (a Scottish name there? yes) to return to their coach. Not nice even if the reason was legit. We may meet up later in a playoff so please come back down from Edi and take my favourite place to stand again!!
  17. Peterborough Craig Cook Emil Grondal Tom Perry Nikolaj Bush Jakobsen Ulrich Ostergaard Ashley Morris Zdenek Holub Newcastle Robert Lambert Victor Palovaara Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Steve Worrall Lewis Rose Danny Phillips 4th place Panthers entertain 6th place Diamonds. If there are changes to the above line ups please let us know. I am biased of course and I predict an away win for Newcastle! Well whatever happens I hope the Peterborough fans are entertained by the visitors
  18. Yes Stevehone we are that good! Prepare youself for a shock. Hopes!! Cookie apart the Diamonds are more than a match for the rest of your team. I forecast a Newcastle away win with all 4 pts
  19. Err I thought this thread was about Fridays match Panthers v Diamonds. The Diamonds could just be Peterborough's toughest 2016 home challenge. 3 Newcastle riders were in Elite League action last night. Steve Worrall scored 6 points for Belle Vue, Lewis Rose 5+1 for Kings Lynn and Diamonds number 1 Robert Lambert top scored for Kings Lynn with 13 points so look out Peterborough the Diamonds are glittering and are coming your way!
  20. Newcastle Robert Lambert Victor Palovaara Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Steve Worrall Lewis Rose Danny Phillips Peterborough Craig Cook Emil Grondal Tom Perry Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen Ulrich Ostergaard Ashley Morris Zdenek Holub Peterborough have a solid looking side with the names Craig Cook and Ulrich Ostergard jumping out of the monitor! Both riders have had some high scores at Brough. Craig, Steve, Robert, Ulrich and Ludde will I am sure provide most of the fireworks. Newcastle eyes will be on Lewis Rose who was brilliant down at Redcar on Thursday hopefully Lewis can keep his upsurge in form going. NBJ could do well if he finds the tighter turns at Brough to his liking. So anyone know if there are any changes to the teams?
  21. I cannot understand how Craig Cook with his liking for Brough Park has not become a target for Newcastles promoters (unless he has been a target on the quiet). Hey Cookie sign for the Diamonds in 2017. I was disappointed with Peterborough who Cook apart never troubled Newcastle. Big worry now for the Diamonds as Ludvig Lindgren cricked his back when coming 2nd in Ht 15. He may not be fit for the return fixture on Friday (Stuart Robson get your diamonds jacket out) I dunno what is wrong with Robert at the mo? Perhaps a different engine or bike will hit the mark for him. He just dosen't seem to be as fast as he was
  22. Newcastle Robert Lambert Victor Palovaara (Missing) Guest or R/R Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren (Missing) Guest or R/R Steve Worrall Lewis Rose Danny Phillips Season 2016 has been as much about replacing absent riders, almost as much as points scored on the track. So we will need to employ a guest and R/R for the "Turnip Twins" We may not have captain Lindgren but we do have his team partner Matej Kus who may just do the business against his old team
  23. Ah Well Jason is out! It makes the Newcastle task a little easier as he in "fine fettle" takes some beating. Er just thought Fine Fettle is maybe a Geordie expression that Sheffield fans don't understand. So lets hear from you Tigers on fine fettle, what does it mean
  24. I am a fan of Jason Garrity despite him getting the Boos at Brough. Our top guys should expect a tough time when Jason is in their heats. I cannot see any PL team beating us at home. I forecast the diamonds to score more than 50.
