    Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final

I've already posted my version of events. People (mostly those who weren't there) can put whatever slant they want on things, but wether provoked or not Cook head butted a track official. (And I don't mean placed his helmet against anothers' forehead, as per those football prima donnas). Sadly, that's the bottom line. Due to one stupid action, speedway as a whole lost out on Saturday night. The races involving Cook were great. After one where Kennett beat him, before exiting the track, Kennett offered his hand. After what looked like an interesting conversation Cook returned the compliment. He also appeared in Ht 15.

There were half a dozen on bend 2 & hats off to them for making the trip.

    I suspect you're no stranger to wind-ups.

    Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final

Rubbish. I was there. I know what I saw. Glasgow (possibly one rider?) complain about the track, ride off whilst the home team & their mascots (young children) are still being announced & their No.1 still wearing his helmet headbutts a member of the track staff. There have been occasions when the track has been dodgy. Tonight it most certainly wasn't. And according to you its entirely Eastbourne's doing? Even the Glasgow owner apologised at the end of the meeting.

    Eastbourne 2019

Really pleased to see Jason Edwards back at the club, but a bit mystified by who got dropped. IMO Georgie has the potential to succeed & is more than worthy of his place. Don't think Alfie ever will. In Ben's defence he was riding No.2, so had the harder rides. Think they dropped the wrong bloke.

    Eastbourne 2019

After praising Jon Cooks' video on the Eagles website a few weeks back, I'm really disappointed by his comments as posted by HGould. Constructive criticism can be effective, but this is over the top. For me, Georgie is a natural racer & both he and Ben have the potential which I'm sure they'll achieve. If anything it's Alfie who I (& others who I attend with) are not so sure about, who at times looks decidedly awkward, yet Cook seems to criticise him less. I think he should be given more time though. The club are at the level they could realistically expect to be in their first Championship season, with a good crowd & atmosphere. I'm beginning to think Jon Cook doesn't realise how lucky he is.

    Newcastle 2019

Newcastle fans - Jacob Bukhave's score last night didn't do him justice. Slow he ain't. Think you have a good prospect there.

    Eastbourne v Newcastle 8/6/19

Eagles site - Lewi Kerr is fit to ride.

Dunno if you meant that tongue in cheek? Should be a belter. Presumably (hopefully) Lions won't have such a good guest as Josh Pickering was & neither will Ellis Perks & his sportsmanship be at reserve...

    Eagles v bandits 25 may

Huge sigh of relief that Lewi Kerr is ok. (Eagles site / Twitter). Have to say Georgie Wood in particular was really on it last night (even considering the opposition had an off night & the track had improved from last week). Apologies - Of course good to see Kevin Doolan also is fine (Saw him helping out the Bandits in the pits after the incident).
  12. Firstly - and the only thing that really matters - all the best to Tom Brennan on his recovery. I've given up trying to comprehend the way averages are calculated now. To me, Jon Cooks' latest comments about riders feeling a bit too comfortable might not just be aimed at the lower order. I'm still glad the club took the decision to enter the Championship. The increase in the standard is obvious & with much closer matches (preferably winning though!), I'll attend more than when in the NL, where the 60-30's got monotonous.
  13. Any ideas if Glasgows' 2 Danes will be back for the fixture at Eastbourne on saturday?

    Eastbourne 2019

I'm unashamedly going to plug Jon Cooks' excellent interview on the Eagles website. Hoping for some more competitive encounters like the Leicester meeting. A buzz about the place this season & hats off to all those making it happen.

Let's hope we do draw Leicester again. At least they'll be cracking contests.
