    Eastbourne 2019

After praising Jon Cooks' video on the Eagles website a few weeks back, I'm really disappointed by his comments as posted by HGould. Constructive criticism can be effective, but this is over the top. For me, Georgie is a natural racer & both he and Ben have the potential which I'm sure they'll achieve. If anything it's Alfie who I (& others who I attend with) are not so sure about, who at times looks decidedly awkward, yet Cook seems to criticise him less. I think he should be given more time though. The club are at the level they could realistically expect to be in their first Championship season, with a good crowd & atmosphere. I'm beginning to think Jon Cook doesn't realise how lucky he is.

    Newcastle 2019

Newcastle fans - Jacob Bukhave's score last night didn't do him justice. Slow he ain't. Think you have a good prospect there.

    Eastbourne v Newcastle 8/6/19

Eagles site - Lewi Kerr is fit to ride.

Dunno if you meant that tongue in cheek? Should be a belter. Presumably (hopefully) Lions won't have such a good guest as Josh Pickering was & neither will Ellis Perks & his sportsmanship be at reserve...

    Eagles v bandits 25 may

Huge sigh of relief that Lewi Kerr is ok. (Eagles site / Twitter). Have to say Georgie Wood in particular was really on it last night (even considering the opposition had an off night & the track had improved from last week). Apologies - Of course good to see Kevin Doolan also is fine (Saw him helping out the Bandits in the pits after the incident).
  6. Firstly - and the only thing that really matters - all the best to Tom Brennan on his recovery. I've given up trying to comprehend the way averages are calculated now. To me, Jon Cooks' latest comments about riders feeling a bit too comfortable might not just be aimed at the lower order. I'm still glad the club took the decision to enter the Championship. The increase in the standard is obvious & with much closer matches (preferably winning though!), I'll attend more than when in the NL, where the 60-30's got monotonous.
  7. Any ideas if Glasgows' 2 Danes will be back for the fixture at Eastbourne on saturday?

    Eastbourne 2019

I'm unashamedly going to plug Jon Cooks' excellent interview on the Eagles website. Hoping for some more competitive encounters like the Leicester meeting. A buzz about the place this season & hats off to all those making it happen.

    Eastbourne v Leicester

Let's hope we do draw Leicester again. At least they'll be cracking contests.

    Eastbourne v Leicester

I'll get this out of the way first - Always a shame when a rider deliberately stays on track to gain a re-run. (Yes, I know it works both ways). Would've chosen Kerr instead of Kennett in heat 15, but what do I know? Enough of that. Leicester's big guns swung it for them in a really absorbing contest, the sort of which keeps punters attending. Obviously would have preferred to WIN by a point, but a refreshing change from the 60-30's! Considering the footrest, Dickie is still the Lawson of awesome .

    Eastbourne v Leicester

If Leicester operate R/R & Perks at reserve, this'll be a stern test for the Eagles.
  12. Dust.......Timekeeping..........with all due respect, both you & Old Bob no longer seem to be enjoying Speedway. Time for another sport?
  13. Along as he keeps banging in the maximums, who cares if he arrives fashionably late?

    EASTBOURNE v SOMERSET 13th April

It's been sunshine & showers since midday. Forecast is dry from now. Can't believe there'll be any problems tonight.
