2011 Grand Prix Competition
beesboybert replied to beercellar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I wouldnt be suprised if nobody did it. It's a lot of hard work, and a lot of grief is given from people if it isnt updated instantly. That's why i stopped it, and luckily Pete took over (but wasnt helped by the mods last year) -

This is a terribly boring meeting, seems a bit one sided too with Lindgren missing out, although Tarnow are clawing it back slightly now -

Is Winning At All Costs Destroying The El?
beesboybert replied to DarrenCook's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It doesnt keep costs down, all it does, is get lower averaged riders requesting more money because they know what a valuable commodity they are. With these rules, teams are likely to bring in new foreigners, rather than a young brit such as Josh Auty, this will incur more costs as the teams will have to pay for flights , etc to get these riders over, and set them up over here. Also last season the top 6 all had a chance of qualifying for the play-offs going into the last week of the season. thats two thirds of the league! There will always be teams struggling, and I dare say Coventry would be a team struggling if we lined up with Kenni Larsen as our 2nd heatleader! The Idea of a fortnightly super league at £25 a pop certainly appeals to me more whan journeymen foreigners getting jobs ahead of young talent wanting to come up from the P, simply because their averages fit better -
Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation
beesboybert replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So a broken thumb is not an injury? It'll be more than 2.18 due to the likes of Bomber, Kennett, Barker, Bridger all being viable options for team building and getting their 25% deduction due to being british Ahh so that play-off final and KOC final in 2003 were just BLC meetings were they? -
Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation
beesboybert replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Because those 5 other promoters won the league too Pawlicki missed the meeting with a broken thumb, he rode through the pain barrier in the playoffs, getting treatment on it before and during the meetings. Also Sweetman did very well in both legs, and would have cleaned up at reserve too. Maybe he wouldnt have scored quite as many as Pawlicki, but Pawlicki would've scored more than Sweetman at number 2. -

Coventry V Wolves Ko Cup 2nd Leg 23/9

it was very wet this morning, but stopped about 7:30. Been dry since and the ground has dried pretty quickly. The local radio said heavy showers throughout the day but havent seen them yet -

I'd happily have Dicky Sweets back next year, like SCB says, after 12 he would probably drop to reserve for the rest of the season anyway. From what I understand it's Pawlicki's Scaphoid that could be the problem and he has gone back to Poland to have it checked out -

A fantastic night last night as a bees fan. The atmosphere on the back straight was superb. A cracking turnout. As soon as i turned up, Peterbrough and their fans seemed defeated due to the track, whereas Coventry just turned up and attacked it and got on with the meeting, and when KK broke the track record, it confirmed it was going to be our night in my mind. Bjerre was a disgrace last night, if I was a panthers fan I would be fumin with him. He just didnt want to be there, and let his team down badly, as did Swales with his track preparation. PErhaps time for them both to be moved on? For the bees, Kasper did as Kasper does, and I was very relieved when he got up from his crash. He will be a key man for us in the final with his knowledge and abaility at Wimborne Road. Hope he's back next year. Dicky Sweets was the star of the show for us, I was told by someone, who will remain nameless, before the meeting that he would never go that far, but last night he showed how good he can be, just a shame he missed one heat. Barker seems to have grown up towards the end of the season, and whilst his form hasnt been the best lately he hasnt been over-riding like he was before, and looks a lot better on the bike. One moan though, why go round pulling wheelies whilst Shamek was down injured? I know there was excitement at getting into the final, but I wouldve liked to have seen him go check on his team-mate Kennett had one of his best Showground meetings last night. Going into the meeting I was worried about him and Barker vs Schlein and Iversen, but I had no need to be, and he did his job well. Harris, has been superb towards the end of the season, and continued that last night. At the time I thought he laid it down to avoid Schlein who had lost control and therefore thought the ref made the correct decision. Pawlicki, despite appearing to struggle still managed to score paid 7. A decent effort from the youngster, I just hope he isnt suffering any ill effects after his tumble in his last ride. and finally Bridger, a solid contribution. Still isnt scoring as much as he is capable of, but is contributing. Another rider who appeared to be over-riding earlier in the season, but now is thinking about it a lot more. I was heavily critical of the team earlier in the season, and they fully deserved it, so it's only right that I praise them for the way they have turned themselves round, and look like a team, rather than 7 individuals. Rosco has obviously had a key role in this transformation, and its great to see him looking happy again, as I wouldnt be suprised if he had doubted his decision to defect from Swindon earlier this season. I expect Poole to be too strong for us in the final, but just getting there after having 0 points from out first 7 meetings is some achievement. The pressure is all on Poole, we can just go out, enjoy it and try to spoil the party. -

Tracy, Ive seen many people take chairs in and sit on the grassy knoll on the back straight, or there is the grandstand on the home straight, which you can sit in -

This is the bees place in the final to lose. As long as we come through tomorrow's meeting unscathed then I'm confident that with the correct use of tacticals (if needed) that we will be able to hold onto 14 -
Swc Event 2, King's Lynn, 26/7
beesboybert replied to Bagpuss's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
This is one thing that really annoys me about this forum. Football fans get all sorts of stuff thrown at them, Idont know a single football fan who goes to games to see players get injured. Sure there is probably a brainless few who do.... but the same can be said that some speedway fans only go to see crashes and injuries. -
