RAMPANT DUCTAIR BULLS REGAIN TOP SPOT IN MSDL The Birmingham DUCTAIR Bulls were in rampant form at Perry Barr as they handing out a comprehensive defeat to title rivals Wolverhampton , who lost their young skipper Luke Harrison in heat 1. The 15 year old had bike problems during the race and pulled up on the centre green where his bike went up in flames. Thankfully the track staff put the fire out but Luke was out of the meeting which was a blow to his side. The Bulls though took advantage of this and posted four maximum 5-1 heat wins plus a 4-2 as the match reached the stadium curfew time and reached heat 5 to give a result and two league points to Birmingham with a 24-6 scoreline. Two crashes and a replaced air bag in the main meeting held proceedings up but the MSDL lads got all but one race in after the frustration of the previous week when delays meant that they only raced three heats , one less than is required to achieve a result against Sittingbourne. DUCTAIR Bulls skipper Arran Butcher posted a three ride 9 point maximum whilst Freddy Hodder recorded a paid maximum of 8+1 in his 3 rides and Jacob Fellows weighed in with paid 10 with his 7+3 return. For the Wolf Cubs Kyran Lyden and Jamie Sealey had 3 points apiece. And getting water down into the base is essential and John had problems on the big bowser and had to use the small one in the afternoon .... and watering too late is not what tracks do so not sure what your experience is of track work ?? as for ruts and holes "all over the place" ?? and dangerous ???? Having seen several tracks in recent weeks I can say I have seen much worse and that it was not bad as you have said ... there were a few problems which John worked on after the meeting till 1am but track was not as painted above .

so an open individual meeting which nowadays regular fans don't support === so a reduced crowd of support and hope that the athletes could be tempted (or even allowed to!!) come and watch something they know nothing about with heavy security with them ?? You have no idea !!

ROAD SYSTEM IN AREA ALL CLOSED DOWN. As explained Weds Aug 3rd is one of the main athletics events and running against it even if the roads weren't closed would be financial suicide. If you look at the fixtures Birmingham ARE running on Wednesday July 27th v Poole ._and Wednesday is ONLY race day at Perry Barr allowed !! And we are not struggling to make the end of the season .

MSDL MON 4 JULY WOLVERHAMPTON GO TOP OF MSDL WITH CONVINCING WIN OVER SITTINGBOURNE The Wolverhampton PARRY’S INTERNATIONAL Wolf Cubs took over top spot in the MSDL following their convincing 24-12 victory over the Sittingbourne Crusaders. Luke Killeen raced to a 12 point maximum for the Wolf Cubs who were without their captain Sam Woolley and utilised rider replacement to cover his rides. He was backed up by guest Bailey Fellows who notched 7+3 from his 4 rides whilst Jamie Sealey added 5+2 to the total. The Crusaders had Eli Meadows on good form as he included two heat wins in his 9 points score from 4 rides whilst skipper James Laker battled away with 3 paid 4. Nathan Hargrave crashed out in two rides whilst lady rider Taya Thirtle was beset by bike troubles. MILDENHALL --- SUNDAY 19th JUNE AT 2PM The Danny Ayres Memorial meeting at Mildenhall on Sunday June 19th ---first race 2pm with gates open 12.30 – has attracted a good line-up of riders willing to take part in memory of speedway’s No. 1 showman. Danny’s day, as the meeting has been dubbed, will have 29 races split into the main meeting of 16 riders over 20 heats with a semi final and a Grand Final plus a mini-meeting of two teams of 4 rides racing over 6 heats then a Grand Final for the top two scorers from each side. Confirmed riders are : Danny King, Richard Lawson, James Shanes, Ben Barker, Ben Morley, Max Clegg, Alfie Bowtell, Connor Coles, Connor Mountain, Cam Heeps, Zaine Kennedy, Jacob Hook, Kye Thomsen, James Wright, George Congreve in the main meeting. In the mini meeting confirmed are Nathan Stoneman , Sam Beebee, Alex Spooner, Luke Muff, Jack Kingston, Connor King, Jack Kingston and Nick Laurence. There will be children’s entertainment including face painting, cartoon characters and mascots plus a magician with sweet stalls from gate opening time. The pits are open to the public from 12.30 until 1.20 with a track walk with the riders and referee at 1.15 with a £10 charge to join in with this. The bikes will be warmed up at 1.30 and the parade of riders with mascots ( available for £40 ) at 1.45 then heat 1 at 2pm. There will be centre green experience groups throughout the meeting allowing participants to witness racing from the middle and the cost of this is £ 10 . The main meeting is kindly sponsored by Glasgow Tigers Speedway and Allied Vehicles. Teng Tools have donated a tool kit worth £300 which will be presented to the rider chosen as the most entertaining of the meeting with other prizes awarded to the best wheelie and best doughnut ! It is aimed at being a family fun day and local radio station GenX Radio have confirmed as the media partners for Danny’s Day and will have a presence at the meeting giving out stickers and producing their show that afternoon from the stadium and promoting mental awareness. There is the chance for one fan to be the referee’s assistant for the day and start a race. Bids for this can be sent in to the e-mail addresses and the highest bidder will take the prize. The race jackets worn by each rider in both parts of the meeting will be signed and auctioned off after the meeting raising funds towards the futures of Danny’s two children. Monday May 9th: Wolverhampton PARRYS INTERNATIONAL Wolf Cubs 21 Sittingbourne Crusaders 14 An incident packed clash saw the Wolf Cubs gain revenge for their recent defeat at Sittingbourne with a 21-14 win. Heat 1 saw home skipper Sam Woolley come down on bend 2 but remount and join his partner Ben Phillips for a 5-1. Heat 2 saw a rare sight as both Jake Fellows, guesting in place of Luke Killeen for the home side and Sittingbourne debutant Nathan Hargrave both loop at the gate causing the race to be stopped with both excluded from the re-run. Hargrave then , unfortunately, looped it again in heat 3 to make it a debut to forget and with a bent bike he missed his last ride. Then amazingly Jacob Fellows again looped it causing heat 4 to be stopped and the guest from Birmingham finally got to his feet and had a trip to the ambulance. He missed his last ride then went to hospital for a check up not getting out of their till the next morning thankfully with no breaks. Heat 5 saw race leader Sam Woolley take a tumble on bend 4 but cleared the track to make it an eventful first 5 heats . Heat 6 saw the race of the night as Wolf Cubs guest Kai Ward and Crusaders captain James Laker have a four lap side by side battle before Ward secured victory to complete a four ride 12 point maximum . The experienced Brit sustained breaks to his tibia and fibula which have now been pinned and plated. Josh would like to thank supporters for all of their messages and best wishes. Meanwhile, UK Life Medical would like to clarify the situation which saw last Wednesday’s home fixture with Berwick abandoned at Perry Barr. Specialist Paramedic Marc Dodds said: “Josh sustained an injury to his leg and as the Paramedic covering the event on examination I felt that Josh may have sustained a fracture to his Tibia/Fibula. “We provided treatment and ensured Josh had the right amount of pain relief to deal with this type of injury. “Normal procedures when a rider requires hospital treatment is to call 999 and have a NHS County Ambulance attend. “This way care can be passed on and the race meeting can continue. “As we called 999 for Josh we were informed that there would be a 6 hour wait for a 999 response. “The level of injury Josh received and the fact Morphine, which is a controlled drug, had been given meant that only a Paramedic could transport to hospital. “Hospital delays also played a big part of what we faced as many Ambulances are kept outside waiting to go in, this was the case on arrival at hospital where we were told it would be a 5 hour wait. “Thankfully we were able to get Josh in quicker due to his injury type, but this is not always the case. “Even if the Club had a second Ambulance on site, the fact the Paramedic would need to travel would mean the meeting would still have to be cancelled. “The NHS is facing unprecedented delays and this is having a knock on effect across the industry and impacts on meetings such as Speedway. “The owners have tried really hard to keep this club going and have invested a lot of time and money into it. “Some elements are out of their control and also financial implications have to be considered when needing additional cover, this is something that goes on behind the scenes. “We always want to ensure everyone, riders, mechanics, track staff or spectators are always looked after if we are needed. “Please be assured we are working on many solutions.” Birmingham head to reigning Champions Poole on Wednesday (April 27, 7.30) with the next fixture at Perry Barr on Wednesday, May 4 (7.30) against Scunthorpe. What proved to be an incident filled clash the 2022 MSDL season opened with reigning champions Birmingham DUCTAIR Bulls defeating local rivals Wolverhampton PARRY'S INTERNATIONAL Wolf Cubs in a closely contested clash 18-14.Both sides were dealt pre-meeting blows missing a rider each . Wolf Cubs Luke Killeen was ruled out awaiting his British passport whilst the Bulls had to ride without teenager Freddy Hodder as his father was unavailable to drive him due to a work commitment. So both sides operated rider-replacement sharing the rides with the remaining three team members.The Bulls were sitting on a maximum 5-1 heat win in heat 1 but for Arran Butcher to fall on a greasy surface with light rain affecting it in heat 1.Then heat two saw three riders crash coming out of bend one with all four reinstated into the re-run only for Arran Butcher to fall alongside two others and gain an exclusion and a visit to the ambulance whilst home No. 1 Sam Woolley hurting his knee in the two incidents and withdrawing from the meeting .This meant both sides were down to two riders each with the team managers juggling their resources.Jacob Fellows fell in heat 3 hurting his hand and thumb missing his next ride but coming back to vitally win heat 6 to secure his side victory.His cousin Bailey Fellows though rode superbly to notch a 12 point maximum from his four rides.
