No Morris used his own spare bike but as that was playing up on the way to tapes then Aaron brought his out but it wasn't used.
So no spare came out then ? so the why was the pit gate open if not allowed to go back into the pits ?
So take that up with Swindon speedway then because the pit gate is not meant to be opened either, but the rule still applies if you leave the track at places like Wolverhampton.
-
What spare bike come out ?
The one that came out for Morris in Heat 3 and the one that that Wright presumably went in to get.
-
Maybe so ..but why was the pit gate open ..it's a silly rule anyhow ....if you put the 2 mins warning on what does matter what they do as long as they get to the get in time ? if wright chooses to go to the pits then that's his look out .
I totally agree with you but the refs are told what the rules are and are meant to apply them. As for the pit gate being opened how do you suggest they get a spare bike out.
I think you have got kelvin to thank for this new stupid rule with all his bleating about riders going back to the pits.
-
I'd never seen that before and thought it was just Watters inventing a new rule but I'm probably wrong, as usual. I'm sure someone will let me know!
You are no longer allowed to leave the track after an unsatisfactory start. It appears that Morris knew the rules because someone brought his spare bike out for him.
-
Question-why do we always have to have that plank Watters refereeing Swindon v Coventry matches, he always tries to spoil them with his "I'm bigger than the riders attitude." Thankfully, his attempts to scupper Swindon's chances went pop in the end but I would be very grateful if he never refereed another match at the Abbey, old or new!
Would you like to tell us what you think he did wrong tonight.
Oh yes I forgot you are not meant to pull Swindon riders back for moving at the start no when they are at the abbey.

Jacques,
I predict you will be at home in front of the telly as usual.
-
Warm and drying, the meeting is ON. Admission £10 for over-16, all under-16s free.
We know it is on at the moment, BUT will it be on at 7-30 and will it go to 15 heats?

How can Lakeside have Aaron guesting for them when Swindon are here on Wednesday?
-
Comfortable win for a water logged track.
-
The county ambulance didn't leave the track with Dan on board until 10.55pm, with ten heats still to run that would have been far too late for fans, riders and track staff regardless of any curfew time. As soon as it became clear that Dan's medical treatment would take some time the meeting was abandoned by the referee.
Neil, there was not one fan there last night that moaned about the meeting being abandoned, Dan had to come first. But people do and did object to being lied to. We are not all stupid. There is not a curfew at Brandon, as admitted by Mick after an earlier debacle.

Well, I'm still going with a printed blank programme. It will give me something to do all night and I should think anyone buying a programme would have a hell of a lot of alterations to make anyway. Actually, I think this is going to be a brilliant match as these sort of meetings often turn out to be much better than expected. I'm looking forward to it but I thought Swindon would win before so I'm still sticking to that prediction.
I think it will be an old programme as well as it is a rearranged fixture that was rained off.
-
I think there will be less Coventry supporters there tonight than for the ill fated Poole match.
-
Scoreline could be a repeat of the home defeat by Wolves 2 years ago
You think we will score that many
-
Says on our website that full team news to follow on Friday. Is this going to be after the meeting is over?
Still as this didn't appear until today then perhaps our management still think it is only Thursday today.
-
Robert Shuttleworth is one his way to Brandon after a late call up!!
If he's in place of Garrity as suspected then you can see why they have not announced the team
Could be for Swindon
-
Who is going to pay Jason for not riding?
-
i would love to see nemo in the fours and have the winning ride that gives Glasgow the fours title. all in the interest of British speedway.. but i can see him not being allowed in the fours because Glasgow are still capable of fielding a team. what do the borrowers posters think. in or out ?time to say the in word , like it or not..
next year i think this meeting will be held at belle vue to stop all this fixing etc..
What team would that be? Surely Peterborough could as well.
-
Have I missed it? Apologies I did look but couldn't find it.
Update: - Looked again and didn't realise it was in the post-hearing statement.
Maybe his presence counter-balanced that of the Chairman?!
Even when you admit you were wrong you still have to defend it
-
I don't understand why the ACU would even consider overturning an SCB ruling which was solely based on breaking the rules?!
Agreed that the other issues about 'meeting responsibilities on or before the day' need further clarification, assuming they haven't already been clarified at the SCB hearing, but that's a separate issue.
The sideways pop at Poole is also totally unneccesary. Poole didn't issue any statement, Gordon Pairman (SCB Board member) merely answered a question put to him in an Echo interview!!
I suggest that you read the statement on your clubs website.
