Why not, he maybe not up to Richards class but you know he will give it a go, on a track where riders now feel safe, weather permitting .
For a couple of laps at Cardiff last year, before his bike went caput he showed he has it in him. You only get out what you put in. -

Yeh theres not a rider in britain who wouldn't want to ride for Poole . I mean you only have to look at the scrum outside Dan /Matts office door , all waving contracts screaming i'll sign i'll sign.

I have good memories of many many years ago playing football there and it having Astro turf for corners because of the shape in the beazer homes league, unfortunately the dogs went, the football moved but the speedway needs to stay.
Yup we had to take the corners up for matches.

So far the forum has rumoured a 6 of Lawson/Brennan/B.Cook/Z.Cook/Sam Hagon & Max Perry (last 2 as reserves). The last 2 also promote the young Brit support policy.
By my calculation that leaves 4.30 left. Of existing riders it sweeps up on mid 3 points onward's of Hook/Pearson/Borke/ Joe Thompson/Nielsen/Starke
That seems to leave choosing one of them (if not all signed up already) or a young Aussie ??. The Aussie U21 Finals was weekend just gone and a bit of a disaster as 3 rider were excluded, and Michael West was left to ride 4 laps alone to win it. Exclusions included the heavy favourite Rew plus my rider for the future Zischke. Believe Zischke was last exclusion in the 3/4 attempts to race the final so was awarded 2nd place. Can't find individual scores or race videos anywhere on FB or Youtube or any of the POL Speedway sites which is unusual as they gave all heat results in the junior 125cc event.
I still have my doubts as to whether the likes of West & Zischke would be 5 pointers having only really raced in POL U24 league bearing in mind the likes of Hook/Pearson and young Brits who raced in it still get away with 4 (if Aussies) or even lower if Brits.
Snippit of interest for those maybe not aware. Found a video of Michael West on Youtube doing some after racing laps at Poole Stadium about 5 months ago. The guy is 19 and did plenty of meetings in the POL U24 lge last season. Wonder if it was a precurser to maybe Poole in 2024??. Personally think Zischke would be my choice of the 2 as younger and certainly in late 2022 prior to his accident was well ahead of West and a year younger. No doubt both will be racing on a Tuesday in POL U24 again.
If it comes down to saving cost maybe the Ford's will go with one of those named who already raced in UK in 2022 & 2023.
So where have these 6 riders materialised from ?

Doubt team in league as attendances for Buccaneers was very poor- a few hundred but perhaps weekly speedway at Poole would be good as opposed to gaps between home meetings. I’ve been a supporter since 1970 when speedway was every Wednesday!
What gaps between meetings ?

Young Aussie who can swim to these shores may be in contention, for a reserve place .

Poole are NOT moving up
Why should we, we have no need to . We have our own night weekly speedway two localish derbies . The only slight problem is the watering down of the product. But that will effect every team.

Poole have become so irrelevant they can't even win the lower league anymore.

How is it not okay? 30% chance of a shower. Whether they can dry track out after Weds and Thursday heavy rain in time is another matter though.
Assuming it doesnt rain on saturday, the boys will have to wait untill midday ish to be able to get on the track and take the mesh round, assuming it doesnt rain again, and just keep turning it over. Theres no way they could get on a heavy track otherwise the damage done would be irraparable.

100% Agreed. Although in defence, any club in the same situation would have done the same, just that Cami and his mates were quick off the mark,
and although we would have been happier bringing back a 10/12 point deficit i doubt it would have mattered . They were far sharper out of the gate. when we needed to be.
Its not been a bad season on the whole one trophy, so far, and two finals , so if we can wrap up the K O Cup i think the whole club will be happy with that.
Terry and Garath did a great job with the track knowing what we faced, but end of the day it was all down to getting out of the start.- 1

We have the second leg, like it or lump it. Its in Glagows court to re arrage.

Hope the fixture can be rearranged for Saturday or Sunday so Pirates still get the 2nd leg next week.
If Glasgow go through they will be made to take the first leg regardless.

What does he expect. When somebody has a go at him he doesn't like it, but his constant, jibes over years, against us gets a little tiresome.
. To be honest i don't think he is even a speedway fan, he just jumped on the Poole hate bandwagon and clearly thinks he's clever.
When it backfires he cops a strop. Water off a ducks back. What goes around comes around.- 1
